Alethea was born a Warder, as her mother was before her. Until now she has lived only for revenge. Can the dragon's embrace stop her from avenging her mother and destroying the village that took her life? Or will his love be too late to stop her from destroying the Wardstone?
Enjoyable story, but I like this author's sci-fi books/stories more.
Alethea's mother died saving a village and giving birth to her. She asked her friend to bring her daughter to her parents but instead the friend gave her to be raised by villagers and then took her at 15 to train to destroy the town and the friends hopes Alethea herself.
When she is 20ish, she warns the village they have month to leave but Orala uses black magic to make Alethea angry and destroy her mother's stone that has been used to protect the village. She's stopped but two people are dead. When her grandparents find her they plan to wed her to a dragon since she's half dragon in the hopes that will save her. It's pretty much lust then love at first sight for Rhys and Alethea. I really liked his character. The quiet, not as cute brother.
There are more books in this series, but I'm going to jump to another series by Ms. Grace first.
