El presente volumen ofrece algunas de las más importantes contribuciones científicas realizadas por el doctor Winnicott en su ámbito de estudio. De hecho, la consideración de su obra va creciendo día a día, y cada vez se reconoce más su valor no sólo entre los psicoanalistas, sino también entre los psicólogos, los educadores, los trabajadores sociales y, en fin, todos los hombres y mujeres que trabajan en el campo de la más específicamente, en cualquier contexto profesional cuya labor tenga que ver con la salud de la población infantil. Buena parte de la trascendencia de estos escritos radica en el enfoque ambivalente con que el autor observa sus temas de investigació para él, la pediatría da forma al psicoanálisis, pero el psicoanálisis también ilumina el terreno de la pediatría. Sus textos, así, no tienen que ver tanto con la renovación de los conceptos básicos de la técnica psicoanalítica como con la formulación y comprobación de ideas que tienen su origen en el trabajo clínico diario, en el fondo la base sobre la que se fundó la experiencia médica de Winnicott a lo largo de toda su vida profesional.

Through Paediatrics to Psychoanalysis is a classic in the psychoanalytic literature of the English School of Psychoanalysis. The main theoretical contributions of Winnicott are in this book.

Another classic by Winnicott. This is chock-full of articles that therapists study when they go through post-graduate training programs. Technical, not particularly reader-friendly but, when they are good they are very very good. When they are great, which is not rare, they are fantastic.

An excellent introduction not only to Winnicott's psychoanalytic thought, but a tour of the evolution of it from the special psychological problems he originally faced as a paediatrician, finding in Kleinian object relations theory solutions to those problems. A bit dry at times, but ultimately most informative.
