Well-written Dystrophian. Lite language, gore useful to plot and well-handled, no sex. Treats Christianity well in end but not Christian-based. Audio well-done by Rupert Degas. Dad was proficient, I found the son good at sleeping and naivety. Not true to sciences. Recommended for those liking this genre.
This was my second reading of this book. It was a set text for one of my University English units, Utopian and Dystopian Visions. The Road is bleak. The Road is a chilling reminder of how vulnerable we are as a species and how fragile is our earth. I could not be convinced by the sense of hope for the future expressed at the end of this narrative.
I read this shortly after it was published and now I listened to it on a recordings. It was just as good this way. A great story told by a great storyteller.
