now why da hell is the fmc's name shaquana😭😭?? shit sounds like one of those stereotypical names for black women smh.
i don't know how to feel about this book. i mean.. age-gap ain't that bad, it depends, but this woman is old ENOUGH to be the guy's mother and she IS!?!?
don't even get me started on how i was grossed out when he put her foot in his mouth. i don't want to come across a book like that ever again, and oh my god?? when he pulled his ykw out and the fmc had the nerve to say "but you're korean?!” and we all know that's like literally a racist stereotype for east asian men..
i don't even want to continue the series because this is out of pocket, i'm not saying i can't handle shit like this but.. my jaw was dropping. i think i'm gonna take a break from the series and get back to it maybe later on this year but then again.. no <3

Baby it's cold outside, but it's blazing hot inside!

Conan: "Only a lonely person takes this stupid job. Killing someone isn’t easy, it’s dangerous, and you would have to be a psychopath not to let the guilt eat you alive. You would have to be stupid to risk facing jail time to kill for someone else. I have to accept I’m an idiot, I guess. Because only a stupid person falls in love with the woman he’s been paid to kill."
Conan has all the traits of an Aquarius man: rebellious, unique, charismatic, and spontaneous. They always think out of the box and are known for doing things that are against the rules. Aquarius men are dominant in every aspect of life, be it personal or professional. Shaquana is an independent, ambitious, intelligent Black woman, who had her own law firm. Unlike Conan, she's about following convention. Considering the fact that she lives in a small town and is a lawyer, she can't afford not to be. They two come together during a snowstorm and while the weather outside is disrespectful and frightful, things inside Shaquana's house is heating up to an inferno.
This was a short story that didn't drag out the plot. It straight to the point without a lot of fillers in between. There were a few scenarios that kind of makes you give the side-eye, but overall it was satisfactory. I wasn't expecting an HEA, but the epilogue threw me for a loop... pleasantly surprised me.
If you like older women/younger men romance, you won't be disappointed with this book. Just make sure you have a glass of ice nearby, because you might need it during certain scenes. 😏😉

I love this book!
Girl, gave a book that was so crazy ,you would think she took a page out of a Reality tv drama. This story was so good. The main character was a lawyer and she had it going on. I love that the young man decided to not hurt her but save her life because he fell in love with her, I wish the age gap was like 7 years not 21 years but hey each to their own. I wish had a kid by Surrogate that would have been both their child but hey they adopted a beautiful little girl. The ending was good. This why this author is on my favorite list of authors to read. I may not be able to join her club just yet but that is ok I support by buying her books and reading on Amazon Prime. This work is so good that if Ms. Jasper, wanted to add to the story it will not take away from the story , like give them another kid by surrogate or add that his dad is the mob in Korea it will still work or the ex get out of jail an come for her, it still work. Her work is that good. I know the age do throw one a bit take that out your mind and read the story. An ladies don't be out there trying to be Tigers. It is a story. As always happy reading😋.

Conan, hero, is a 19 -year-old Korean American student who assists in his mother's beauty show.
This story finds a compliant Shaquana to the sexual advances of Conan following his breaking into her home. Following his entry into her home and bed, Conan seduces Shaquana, tells her that her ex-husband has hired him to kill her and that he (Conan) will not comply because he (Conan) is in love with her (Shequana) and has been attracted to her since he was seventeen. Shaquana mentally tries to resist Conan's sexual advances but physically yeilds, yearns and seeks out occasions to be with him. I liked the story generally but ...
This is really 3.75 stars. I can't explain it but I didn't like how it was written.. or the format. There wasn't a lot of imagery. It felt like I was reading directions. Also the description of the book says he's 21 but he's 19. And at the bottom of the description it says white man (I thought I was losing it for a second because the title says ambw). It was a good story in general. The little paragraph before the epilogue should be deleted and the epilogue should be in the same font, not different ones.

All I can say is.....
I discovered this serious about a week ago and I'm already 6 novels in and obsessed the book that first caught my attention was Virgo king and me being a Virgo myself had to check it out. And I have not been disappointed yet, jamila does it again with yet another spicy addition to her small town Romance series with this one "Aquarius King" now I personally try to avoid Aquarius men like I avoid monkey pox but....THIS. ONE. HERE! Bout to make me reconsider lol but if your looking for short dark and sexy reads to add to your spank bank READ NOW.

Really enjoy it.
Wow, I don’t know if I could do what Shaquana did. I’ve had you d men hit on me but anyone my children age or younger makes me feel very uncomfortable. It was a young man trying to talk to me last but I couldn’t not only was he younger then my oldest son but also younger then all of my children. Even if he had of did it like Conan, which was very hot, and sexy, had me wet, I still couldn’t do it.
This was a great read.

Loved it
The story was great. Hate that Conan went to such extremes to be with Shaquana, but glad she gave him a chance and took a chance on love. Knew it was Oscar the whole time and that he was dumb. Glad Shaquana said yes to Conan and forever. Wish these books were longer. Great job Jamila.

This one was pretty good. I wish the epilogue was fleshed out a little more. I feel like this story was rushed. I loved the chaotic ramblings of Conan and the exasperation that Shaquana would feel dealing with a younger man. Overall cute reminded me of " how Stella got her groove back".

Ion know about this one!!
This book didn't make sense to me. 19 yr old Conan broke into 40 yr old Shaquana's house because her ex husband paid him to unalive her. Mind you she gets her nails done at his mother's shop every week. He's in "love" with her and he doesn't want to kill her so he persuades her to have sex with him. I don't feel like the story was thought out.💛💛

HEA Ending
While the storyline developed nicely, I did find the constant reminder of the age gap to be frustratingly repetitive.
The inner monolog of both parties also made me question the thought processes, but I was glad to see the level of communication at the end.

Just sex
If you are looking for little plot but hot sex, this is the book for you. This was great because I was in the mood for little plot. No slow burn. Just get to the nitty-gritty. That was done by the time I got to 35% of the book.

Awwwwww
This was short, sweet, and to the point! I like uncomplicated romance novels! Jamila Jasper is the best at it. I really liked Conan’s character. It took Shaquana a little while to warm up to him, but I understand why. Awesome read!

Conan's obsession with Shaquana's black girl magic is so out of this world! This author's small town guys learn early how to lay the pipe and they are putting it down!!! Spicy, short read with a cute epilogue.

Although this was a very interesting story, I could never see myself in Shaquana's shoes. I can't do age gaps. But if it works for some people, amen to them👍🏾👍🏾

One thing about this author: she knows how to write crazy people. Conan was unhinged in the best way. Spice was good. Nice distraction while I'm not feeling well.
