Her first novel, Summer Rose, climbed to the top of three national bestseller lists. Her historical novel, Forbidden Fire, won Affaire De Coeur's Best Overall Historical Romance of 1994. That same year, she was named Utah Writer of the Year. Newlywed Game, lauded by Romantic Times as "a great talent making a smashing contemporary debut," was her first Harlequin American romance book. Her first Silhouette Intimate Moments release, The Hijacked Wife, appeared on numerous bestseller lists as well.
Besides writing novels, Bonnie also lends her talents to screenwriting, and her screenplay Heroes placed as a finalist at the Sundance U.S. Film Festival. This is book's storyline was confusing to me & heartbreaking 💔. I really liked the Christian theme in this story. I really liked Leah's character. I really liked Matt's character. I really liked Danny's character. I really liked the ending. If this book's storyline was more clear & believable I would have given the book 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

In terms of Love Inspired authors, Winn is definitely one of my favorites. Her storylines are both suspenseful and plausible. From the first chapter, I was hooked. I empathized with Leah's tenacity to find Matt and couldn't wait for her to meet her son. Winn wrote Leah well. Her character's determination is exactly what you would expect of a woman putting her all into fixing her family. Danny was also very well written. He was precocious but retained the innocent simplicity we love in children. Danny really was the glue that bound their family and the novel together. Matt was a great father. His unease and distrust of Leah throughout the novel was believable and justified. She wanted to take his little boy away! I also love how Christianity was encorporated into the plot. It wasn't overly preachy, but it was clear that they were a family where God was at the center.

As for language, she is better than many LI authors I read before. Winn described the characters and their feelings excellently. I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind. There were a few typos, but they didn't disrupt my reading.

The one thing that caused me to give it 4 stars was the ending. Matt spends the entire novel distrusting Leah and her supposedly covert intentions. Leah is also taken aback by his surliness on several occasions. When the incident with Danny is over (no spoilers), they get married. Winn could have set the last chapter 6 months later, and the marriage would have been much more believable and not the product of fantastical fiction. That having been said, a marriage at the end is part of the LI formula.

Good, quick, easy read. I read this while working (I get an exceptional amount of downtime in between customers) and I found it extremely enjoyable. As a religious woman I was not necessarily expecting the message that was given to me by the end of the book but I throughly enjoyed reading and learning as I flipped through the pages.

It took 8 years to find her son and now she has to decide what to do about it. His happiness is to important to snatch him away from the only Father he has ever know. He ex told his brother a lie and died before he could correct it. Can she prove to Matt that his brother lied about her?

Great story about a woman searching for her son stolen from her 8 years earlier. It has forgiveness only God gives us the power to give, and shows thru trusting Him, what seems impossible happens.

It's a great book. More than an inspirational romance story, it was about so much more. The true meaning of family, the support from others around you and faith. The story tackles things that people in real life go through all the time, and how caring people could be. Also how things get better if you have faith and pray. This story is touching and full of different emotions. I love this story and could read it all over again.

When Leah Hunter's son disappeared eight years ago when his father left town, she devoted her life to finding her little boy. Matt Whitaker was surprised to see his brother return home with an infant that he said was abandoned by his mother, but when his brother died in a car accident shortly after, he knew it was up to him to raise his nephew and has been doing so for the last eight years. When a chance clue brings Leah to Matt's hometown, they must work through their conflicting views of the past to create a better future for everyone involved, including Leah's son. Apparently there are other books in this series exploring the lives of minor characters in this book. A charming small town tale.

Amazing and really pulls on yoru heart strings. I love how the characters come to life with every turn of the page. They go from being just people in a story to people you can easily get to know. The small town of Rosewood Texas just comes to life inside this 249 page long book. Love the dynamics that were used in this story. The hero and heroine were unmistakable characters. I will have to look and see if there are any other books from Rosewood as I would love to come back in for a visit. Thank you for this amazing experience you have created.

Leah's husband took off with her son when he was born. She's been looking for him ever since. Matt's brother brought his nephew home 8 years ago and then was killed in a car accident. How do you suppose this will end?

One of my favorite books of all time. the sweetest love story. I've probably read it 3 times, and that is VERY unusual for me, because I don't generally re-read books.
