Most of these poems were written when Aliki was nine years old, hence the title. Read the comment from the (now-grown) author, below, for information that explains the support this prodigy was given. The drawings, by her father, are lovely. The poems are interesting and might be useful in a 3rd or 4th-grade classroom. I did enjoy them, and do recommend the book if you're lucky enough to run across a copy.
