Enter the magical kingdom of Madrigar, where handsome Prince Augustin was robbed of his heart by a cruel fairy. Blessed by a kinder member of the fae with an “untiring” sword, he’s learned such gifts present challenges—and that missing hearts are no light burden. Plucky Princess Violet likewise suffers under a spell, fated to burn forever with desires no common lover can satisfy. Little do they know the survival of both their kingdoms depends on them losing their enchanted hearts to each other. A very grownup fairytale from USA Today bestseller, Emma Holly. “I am utterly insane for Emma Holly. The way she sucks you into her world is pure genius!” —New York Times bestseller, Jacquelyn Frank
I'm a USA Today bestselling author who LOVES the hot stuff, both to read and to write. My favorite obsessions are all things coffee, almost everything on HGTV, and dreaming up new stories.
An okay read. I thought this would be more along the lines of Ember, but despite the fact that both are erotic stories, this one is severely lacking in the character development.
I did however manage to read it in a blink of an eye: my GR's challenge appreciates it.
Prince Augustin of Madrigar was cursed and blessed. Cursed by Gratiana to have no heart and blessed by Ariel to have great beauty and vitality and that no weapon can harm him. Ariel’s husband Clevis, decided to throw in a blessing also and said that Augustin’s sword would be untiring and make all the ladies swoon.
Princess Violet of Arnwall has problems. Her parents were kidnapped by wereseals and her kingdom is small and not very wealthy. When a werewolf sets his sights on marrying her and she laughs at him he curses her with nearly uncontrollable lust. She needs a champion to defeat the werewolf and make him lift the curse, so she sneaks out and heads out into the world. Is Augustin the right one? Will Violet maintain her status as a maiden around his untiring sword? Will they live happily ever after?
Decently written with humor and extreme hotness this is fairy tale erotica. I’ve read many stories by Emma Holly and this seems a bit less polished than her usual fare, but I still enjoyed myself. It’s not all that long, so there’s not a whole lot of time to develop a rich world with the well-rounded characters that you would see in a novel, but it’s still entertaining. Be warned that this story ends at 70% while the rest of the book has plugs for other titles and some excerpts.
It started off okay; prince with no heart, cursed by fairy, given a gift by another fairy, la la la... It all sounded fairy tale-ish to me.
Then....
O.O
WTH? It all went mature, erotic, and hot that was waaayyy not appropriate to the ten year-old who was reading it with me. I thought it was kid-friendly at first and then *swoon*...
It went like this: (Reached the kinky part)
Me: O.O
Lil sis: ...
Me: O.O
Lil sis: ... what? Why'd you stop reading?
Me: We're not reading anymore.
Lil sis: Whaaat??? Why? I wanna read it!
Me: No. This stuff is not for kids. (Leaves to read it alone.)
Seriously. It's hot. It's kinky. It's pure... sex, I guess. Beneath the fairy-tale like plot it has, it's a bit twisted to make way for the all the hotness. Overall, if you're a fan of steamy stuff, then yes, this book is for you.
Oh. My. God. I cannot believe how good this is. For serious: hottest fairytale sort of story I've ever read. Emma Holly is a flawless Goddess, TBH. I'm blown away - I mean, this is a self published story, right? I thought it would be some average little thing. Not one of the finest Emma Holly stories I've ever read. Hell, it's one of the best erotic stories I've ever read. Cannot speak highly enough about it.
A short fairy tale-like story about a man who supposedly doesn't have a heart and a cursed princess. The plot was good, the story was a little too short to enjoy the characters much but I did enjoy reading it.
Love the characters, the plot. Kind of wish it was a little long when they were heading back or come out with a sequel cause I would love to know how the werewolf and what the prince's family thought.... Lol!!!!! Love the book it a must read for me anyways ... Enjoy!!!! ;-)
It was my first time reading an adult book of this magnitude & couldn't put this book down wow i loved it & will be rereading it over & over again it was such an amazing read
Yes, this is a very grown up fairytale indeed. Emma Holly, you are a righteous pervert and I adore your style.
Prince Augustin is cursed with no heart (metaphorical). He can feel up a woman, again and again, but he can't seem to feel anything for his conquests. He is handsome, conceited and good with his sword (both kinds).
Violet is now the ruler of her land, her parents have been weresealnapped, fancy that! So Violet is on her own. She, too, has a curse of a sexual nature. A rebuffed, handsy, over sexed werewolf has cursed her to feelings of GREAT desire. Violet goes off in search of a heroic soul to help save her people and lands from said werewolf.
Needless to say Violet and Augustin cross paths and it is sexual heat of epic proportions. Having said that, there is plenty going on beforehand.
This is a good, sexy read. Emma Holly is fabulous, that mind of hers....... I have never rated Ms Holly's books under 4 stars, I believe her writing is that good. Her worlds and writing style are just fabulous, no matter what the topic. This is not going to be everybody's cup of tea, but it was mine.
Magically cursed, horny royals having sex. Augustin and Violet, have been cursed to have increased libidos. Augustin screws everything in sight but Violet fights against the compulsion. This fact made me like Violet a whole lot more then Augustin, who was a spoiled man whore. Violet needs a hero to save her kingdom and she finds Augustin who is a great fighter. A fairy gave Violet magical items to help with her quest and told her to not let Augustin into her body. I enjoyed the frustration this brought to their relationship, the payoff was so much greater in the end. Lots of sexy times, not too deep.
This is categorised as an `erotic fairytale' but don't let the category fool you. It's not a reimagining of an existing fairytale but a totally new one.
Let me get straight to the point - I didn't get it. Yes, the prince has no heart. But in the end, does he get one? No idea. It was all a blur for me.
A little too convoluted in terms of plot with fairy godmothers and schemes and werewolves and curses. It's a short read so there shouldn't be so many elements in it.
This was a quick, enjoyable, sexy read. I like Emma Holy's writing style and really like that her stories are different enough to keep me going back for more... and talk about going back for more, these two characters have never-ending libidos! Smokin' hot and cute to boot.
A fairytale about 2 horndogs, and man it was good. The characters were adorable, I thought, and I like how the heroine took control of the cocky hero. One of my favorite premises!
A cute erotic fairy tale. Not really kinky, there's just a lot of focus on sex - at the expense of character, etc., so that it isn't terribly compelling. Definitely not the calibre of Holly's earlier work.
I liked The Prince With No Heart, but I do wish that there was more development on the respective kingdoms. I did think Violet and Augustin were fairly well-sketched for a short book.
