The novelization of the forthcoming film chronicles the remarkable achievements and distinguished career of the Carl Brashear, the first African-American Master Chief Navy Diver. Original. (A Twentieth-Century Fox film, written by Scott Marshall Smith, directed by George Tillman, and starring Robert DeNiro, Cuba Gooding, Jr., & Charlize Theron) (General Fiction)
Really liked this book, but I wish it was an actual biography and not just based on the movie. Initially I thought all of it was true, but some characters are made up. However I did like the book itself and the interview at the end. The book has shown me how to be strong and fight through prejudices. Just because someone doesn’t like you doesn’t mean you have to make them like you. Just do what you love and work hard.
