A USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author, Michele taught herself to read at 3 years old because she wanted to write stories so badly. It took some time (and some detours) but now she does spend much of her time writing stories. Mystery stories, to be exact. They're clean and twisty, and range from psychological thrillers to cozies, with a dash of romance and supernatural thrown into the mix. If that wasn't enough, she posts lots of fun things on her blog, including short stories, puzzles, recipes and more, at MPWNovels.com.
Michele grew up in Wisconsin, (hence why all her books take place there), and currently lives there after spending nearly 30 years living in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona, with her husband and southern squirrel hunter Cassie.
When she's not writing, she's usually reading, hanging out with her dog, or watching the Food Network and imagining she's an awesome cook. (Spoiler alert, she's not. Luckily for the whole family, Mr. PW is in charge of the cooking.)
I found this series on accident and I have love every moment reading it. I am will definitely be pre-ordering the ninth book! I love that the book reminds me of scooby doo (hear me out). You read through the series and you are convinced there is an evil magical presence involved but each time there is someone human behind it. The reader is left in suspension wondering if dark magic is really at play or are people just to set on the past to let it go.

This book was pretty good. I found the suspense aspect of the book to be fairly well done, especially when Becca was in the cult's facility. I had to shake my head at the out-of-the-blue part where Becca and Aiden seemed to discover that they like each other? That was unexpected and interestingly enough, it was never mentioned or brought up again. I really liked the parts where Oscar, her cat, saves the day. I was glad to see Mia again, and I was worried she hadn't made it out of the cult's property. The whole wrap up was well done, with everything being explained and then brought together. Everything made sense. I enjoyed this story.
I have read the series straight through and enjoyed each and every book. I know there are more secrets to be uncovered. Like Charlie and Becca's connection to Redemption and perhaps to Lily or even Nellie (just my thoughts). I am looking forward to the next and sorry to hear the last book of the series when it becomes available. If you enjoy books that keep you up turning page after page I highly recommend reading this series!!! I started with the first and couldn't stop there!!!
I really feel for Becca. Not only has Mia deserted her, Daniel has put an end to their relationship. If he truly had feelings for her, he shouldn't be so quick to dismiss her fears as paranoia. Becca is convinced that the only way to save Zelda is for her to infiltrate the Church of the Forgotten. She has first to locate where Zelda is being kept before she can rescue her. Will Becca succeed or has she signed her own death warrant?
I mean, if there ends up being more books, I would be ok with it, and if not, that's also ok with me. The last 2 books definitely eas worth the one I didn't enjoy as much and struggles through. So many things are happening in this last of the series. People dead or alive, cult craziness, break-ups, fires, and new friendships.
All is told in this book and you will just have to read it to see what happens with Becca, Mia, Adin, Zelda and Jill, Elenor and all the rest. There are a few loose ends that I hope to get the answers to in the last book of the series.
