My little sister had one last request before she passed–live for me. So I got rid of my cheating husband and rose to the top of the interior design world. My life is amazing–so why am I so afraid to face my ex at my twentieth high school reunion without a date? It’s nearly impossible to find an amazing guy that appreciates a single mom with curves, especially with my schedule. When my best friend makes the outrageous suggestion that I hire an escort–yes, pay for a date–I know my sister would want me to go all in. I choose the man who I’d never have a chance to be with in real life. Jagger Holliday. Sinfully sexy. Artist with a haunting vision. My fantasy.

This Greek God looks at me like I’m the most beautiful thing he’s ever laid eyes on. When I walk into that beachside resort with a drop-dead gorgeous younger man on my arm, no one can take their eyes off us. Especially my ex, who thinks he’s still in control of my life, but Jagger is more than willing to set him straight. That’s not the only scandalous thing that happened that weekend. Jagger wants to make this fantasy our reality. But I can’t share him with anyone, especially after the way my marriage ended. Can I trust my heart to a man whose body is for hire?
The Hire is a smoking hot older woman, younger man age gap, grumpy sunshine romance with travel, strong friendships with women who know what they want, a nightmare of a high school reunion, and a photo shoot you won't want to miss!

Leah and Jagger's story will continue in books 2 and 3.

Note from The Hire was originally published as No Strings Attached by Kristen Strassel in 2015.

First, this book held so much more depth than I expected going in. I liked how the characters would be honest and open in order to explore their relationship. It was less smut than I anticipated. The book ends in a cliffhanger that I didn't really saw coming because I didn't realize I was already at the end of the book. I would like to read the rest of the series later, but not enough to buy them at the moment. I don't particularly like an open end, unless I really love the series.

Rebuilding a New Life . . .

Leah and her best friend Kari were discussing the 20th class reunion. Leah doesn’t want to go, and Kari won’t face it alone. So when Leah’s daughter, Raven, asked if she was going, Kari answered for her, and told her to contact her friend back home to see if she could stay with her for a visit. Leah didn’t even get the chance to say no! But facing the class reunion, and her cheating ex-husband, without a date will be mortifying. So Kari suggests she hire an escort! Jagger Holliday was perfect for the job. He was her fantasy man. He looks at her in a way that makes her feel desirable and everything he wants in a woman. And Jagger knows how to deal with her ex-husband too, especially when Rich turned all his vile hatred against her to embarrass her in front of others.

Jagger and Leah have so much in common. They see the real person behind any mask they may wear. They could easily fall in love. But Leah could never share him now that she has been with him. His job will tear them apart. So she will have to walk away and not make contact with him. Could she do that? Could he? And how will they react when her ex and his new wife set up the cruelest situation they can to humiliate both of them at Christmas?

Another fantastic series starter from Kristen Jaye. Delightfully hot and steamy. Great characters, and a well written storyline. Would recommend. Cannot wait for the next book!

This was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed the concept and the characters. While I had a good time reading it, I wasn’t super invested. I’m not invested enough to continue in the series.
