I'm dipping my toes into goodreads to see how it works. Thanks for finding me here, and thanks to everyone who has read and written about my books. I love to know you're there, even if I don't come here too often to say so.

Helen Frost is the author of eleven novels-in-poems and seven picture books for children and young adults. She lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Ice is an easy reader to inform young readers about what is ice, different types of ice, bodies of water and ice, and finally melting ice. This short book is set up with simple text on one page and an associated photograph on the opposite page. The paragraphs consist of two or three sentences.

It's a wonderfully short informative book for little learners. The toddlers in storytime were not too interested. It would have worked better for one sentence per page for them. For preschoolers to first graders, this is a great winter book for them to enjoy.

Theme: Frost/Frozen
Additional themes: Ice, Winter, Water
