Tesania - Trannyth's Keep

Rate this book
Tesania is the only survivor after her village is massacred by magically altered beasts. In the aftermath of the attack she senses her father's sword calling out to her, the hilt reforming to fit her small hand as she draws the blade from its sheath.

With its magic tingling at her nerves, she embarks on a mission of revenge.

Could her father's sword be the ancient weapon spoken of in the decaying parchments of the Tenule chronicles, imbued with magic and forged with blood? Can it possibly make the difference when she stands before the evil mage, Trannyth, and demands her vengeance on his beasts?

Tesania is a 132,000 word (500 page) novel.

I was born in Sydney Australia in 1966 to parents of English heritage. I have been a Fantasy buff for decades and spend most of my life wide awake in dreamland. I currently live in Rooty Hill, Australia, with my wife, one son and two cats.

I have many influences in my writing. My early love of fantasy and indeed reading came when I was still at school and I picked up The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. From there I read fantasy voraciously. Authors such as David Eddings, Margaret Weis to name a few enthralled me. Between readings I dreamed of my own adventures and the desire to write was firmly implanted. Life though got in the way and it was another 30 years before I would put pen to paper. The result was TESANIA.

I'm a huge fan of fantasy books and this one didn't let me down. It was a wonderful ride from the beginning. The characters are all so well written that you're left feeling such a loss when one is lost. I wanted you to know that this book is definitley worth the buy and I'll be recommending it to all my friends.!!!!!!!

I had the rare privilege of reading an advance copy of Tesania; Trannyth’s Keep just days before it went to press. Without giving too much away I will try to describe the contents. Our Heroine Tesania witnesses the brutal slaughter of her entire village by possessed beasts. Armed with only her father’s mysterious sword and the overwhelming desire for revenge she joins the King’s Rangers on a very dangerous quest to end Trannyth’s existence and his plans for world domination.

The scenes are well designed and the characters very lifelike. You will soon find yourself laughing along with Giddy and Raim’s constant banter. You will be brought to tears by Tes and Deavon’s burgeoning romance. The tag-a-long Kailyn will warm your heart as she did mine. Mystery, intrigue, deception, betrayal, camaraderie and love await you on this journey.

Please buy a copy now before the author realizes what a good writer he is and raises the price.

I really wanted to like this book. But from the start the undeveloped characters and immature writing killed me. I think for a 10-12 year old this could be a good read.

as I said, the characters are shallow and under developed. I don't even like Tesania. In the very beginning her friend is killed and while looking at her body Tes says, "so cute". Seriously? she was ripped apart and covered in blood! then she runs away returning a page later asking "why!" and proclaiming "I will find you! And then it will be your turn to die." I am sorry. I actually guffawed at this point. so far she has shown no strength if character. The story has her burying her parents and friend but then she ignores the rest of town... ok.

then Deavon appears and well, I want to like him. though he is also not well developed and when tesania's puppy love crush becomes obvious... ugh. The story starts to get really painful.

the last gripe I have is that the author has odd punctuation. what is the deal with the .., that he uses? "bea..,sts " plus it pops up in other places. so while I think maybe this book would be appropriate for young readers it failed to hold my attention...

A wonderful fantasy novel!

I’m a voracious reader and I often read several books at the same time (having a Kindle makes this very easy), usually switching between them as the mood strikes me. But, this book: Tesania - Trannyth's Keep, I couldn’t put down. I actually finished it the first day I spied page one and I don’t usually read fantasy fiction.

The characters are lively and the interaction is quite real. The plot flows well and won’t leave you stranded, lost in the pages, waiting for the author to rescue you. The writing is engaging and (thankfully) void of flowery prose. It’s a smooth and wonderful read and a great adventure.

You will find yourself laughing, crying and living the adventure through the main characters’ eyes. Their hearts will beat through your fingertips and the ending will have you wishing you could take this journey with Tesania and her friends all over again.

I picked this book up the other day from Amazon Kindle store. What a bargain at $2.99. The characters are enthraling and the story has great pacing and direction. I haven't finished it yet, but would recommend it on what I have so far read.
