Anybody driving Interstate-75 to and from Florida in these uncertain times, needs "local knowledge" and "human contact" enroute to feel comfortable and safe while many miles from home . . . and on both counts, this book delivers! Full of practical information and roadside stories, this mile-by-mile guidebook not only entertains you and your passengers - but with its local information it puts you in complete control of your journey. Its 25 mile-per-page full colored maps are very easy to use (we've actually turned them "upside-down" for you so they relate to your direction of travel) and are crammed with useful roadside information. The 25 mile sections provide a sense of "pacing" to your journey which many readers claim, makes the journey seem to go much faster. This book is an absolute MUST for the Florida-bound "snowbird." "Along Interstate-75" is updated and re-issued annually in October; it contains no advertising or commercial content.
We bought this book for our trip to Florida last year. I was the navigator and I love, love, loved the detailed maps and information provided in this book. It was chock full of history and fun facts for almost every major landmark and restaurant along the way. The detailed civil war story about the runaway train was a bit hit with my youngest and because of the book we were able to pinpoint exactly where the train crossed the road over and over again. It basically helped to make a long, long, long car trip much more interesting! We even found a few places closer to home that we would like to go back and visit sometime. We bought a copy for my in-laws who go every year and they couldn't wait to use it as well. It's a must for any car trip along the I-75.
Not worth the $. good points along the way, but hard to read sometimes. Maybe recommended for some one that doesn't have a destination trip. If you want to see things along the way, make that the purpose for your trip.
