Why don't people who write these things realize that comics are not telenovelas? Unless you are watching each episode during washing your dishes, it's super boring to be going through episodes that absolutely nothing happens. The one splinter of information won't keep the reader awake people. Do better.
Charming art, amazing and complex plot... but problematic in many ways ...
The Tainted Half, is the story of a concubine, Seolha, whose face was disfigured by her mother, who wanted to proctect her from the emperor's desire. Seolha can only hope that Muon, the emperor's twin brother, would save her from a lifetime of cruelty. Is he, however, someone she can rely on?
First of all, I recently read another webtoon from this author, so I knew what to expect, but that does not make it okay...
This author seems to be fixed in slavery since this is not the only story based on this plot. Moreover, their heroines (Seolha included) lack deepth and her personality can be summarized as a good sad girl... The same can be said for both the hero and their relationship as a whole since Seolha had more chemistry with her maid-friend rather than him. So much so that I though for a sec I was reading Yuri ...
Also the circumstances of their relationship seemed like coersion tbh...
The art was incredible and even included an amazing scheme to represent the distiction and resemble between the brothers, that added a different layer to the story. Simirarly, in the case of Seolha's scars The plot also had an beautiful fairytale like atmosphere to it, that i really love... but the other factors I mentioned above ruined the whole experience. (Read in English)
Love hate relationship with this story right here. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s still early days but I can say the empire’s brother is confusing as all fuck. I am glad that the main character isn’t considered the standard of beauty and so that the love that will grow will be genuine and pure. This story is good and I know it’s about to get super steamy it’s just the men that annoy me. What else is new haha
Well well..I have a love-hate relationship with this one.It is still ongoing though.I love the art but I dont know if Muo is taking advantage of her or cares for her.I'm on chapter 31 and I'm waiting for the next ones.

I read this entire story in one sitting, and I don't know how to feel. It's full to the brim with stereotypical Korean historical romance tropes. The female lead is someone you want to root for, but the overall story feels a bit bland? The plot moves very quickly, hitting every dramatic story beat you can find in almost any Korean historical romance story, but never really slowing down enough to get a better feel for the characters themselves. It was an enjoyable read, but very much a "Read it once and never think of it again" type of read. The art is GORGEOUS. In fact, the only reason I knew this story existed was because of a Reddit comment in a thread titled "Who is the most beautiful ML?". I really enjoyed the art, and hopefully, whatever else the artist has done, the story is a little better written.
This was such a sweet story and it was short and easy to read. Action was a little lacking, the friendships felt warm, the plot was interesting (especially the part where the truth about the curse was explained), albeit too fast at times, the art was gorgeous, and the romance was perfect; from enemies to lovers trope to the trust the characters had to their love and lover, to the regret Muon had about his past actions and Seon's pain and forgiveness. Really enjoyed this.
Beautiful art style and an interesting story! Felt a little fast in places but it is only 40 episodes so that’s to be expected. I did have some issues with parts of the plot but overall, I really enjoyed!
My new favorite web comic! Now that I’m up to date, all I can think about is that I need a physical copy of this ASAP. Or translate the novel. Anything. PLEASE.
Was shorter than I expected, wished there was a bit more action to the plot. Slow build and then everything finished up quickly. Overall enjoyed the art and the characters
