It was the most eagerly awaited Broadway musical ever: the star-studded premier of Dr. Zhivago. For theatergoers, critics, cast and crew, it would be a night to remember. But for Valentina and Orchid Lederer, it would be much more. They were raised as sisters - two motherless girls forming a special bond of love. But when they found stunning success as recording artists, a bitter jealousy arose between them. Orchid had always struggled for stardom - but it was Valentina's dark exotic beauty and crystal voice that captured the world's attention...and tore the sisters apart. Tonight, they will reunite - and once again the eyes of the world will be upon them. It's Opening Night - the night that will make or break their dreams - and determine their destiny...
LOL 3 stars for the nostalgia. This was one of my mom's books and I remember reading it out of curiosity when I was a 17-18 years old. To me it was addictive fun, very late-80's to early 90's beach reading full of glamour and prime-time soap drama. I swear, if I tried to read it now, with me being around the same age as my mom when she first read it, I would probably die midway from a cringe-induced giggle fit.
