April and Charles (Beau) have an attraction that both know they shouldn’t act on. After one night together following April’s Mom’s wedding they see each other briefly until April discovers she is pregnant and escapes to the Adirondacks with her best friend Mona to raise her child on her own. Several years later she comes back ( reluctantly ) with her daughter Minnie to open a business. Running into Charles by chance has her needing to face the truth that she somehow needs to tell him he has a 7 yr old daughter.
This book had some really unexpected plot twists and was jam packed with angst and sizzling chemistry. This was a great story with a HEA not only for April and Charles but for Minnie as well !!
This is the 1st book in the series and its Simply irresistible. I loved the title, characters and the story. Well written, page turner and easy to read. Kudos to the author. I received an ARC for my honest review.
Billion Dollar Secret is so beautifully written that it take you on an emotionally ride that will break you heart and the next turn will have you falling in love all over again.
Charles and April have know each other for almost their entire live, the difference is about 20 years. Charles is an older gentleman with a great since of duty. April is just out of college and wanting to get out from her mother scrutiny. Taking a chance and a couple of weeks of passion leads to April running away from her family and Charles.
7 years and 9 months later, April comes back with her daughter and runs into Charles. April is scared of how Charles will react to Minnie being his daughter and she hid the information for years. She is also scared how her family will react to her being with Charles as she has never received the approval from her mom. As her past is weaved in secrets and lies, as the truth is uncovered so is the pain, it also comes out that those who truly love and care for her has help her find her happiness.
This great story will have frantically flipping the pages to the end.

This is the story of April and her two best friends, Mona and Elizabeth. Elizabeth has a father Joe who just married Barb and that would be April's mom. She married only after six months after her husband died. At the wedding they are looking for guys and girls for hook ups. April ends up pregant, and does not tell the father and runs into him several years later. Great book great charaters. I would read more by L A Pepper
I have read this story 10 times now. I loved April and beau. At first with him being so much older I didn’t know how to feel about them. They just work and when Minnie comes along you wanna love them more. I did hate Mona for most of this book but she makes up for it. A Great book worth the read.

Overall I liked this book. April and Charles started a fling at her mother's wedding. Once she finds out that she is pregnant she leaves. Years later she is back and Charles finds out that she was keeping his daughter from him. Luckily he handled things well and in the end they got a happy ending.
You will absolutely fall in love with all those characters specially with Minnie. It is the most sweetest complicated love story I have read this year, a real pleasure even The meddling friends and family. Just love the storyline between Charles and older man and April a young woman, lots of drama, emotions, true love is hard work. It is my first book from L.A. But certainly not the last one. I received an Arc and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Loved this book by L.A.Pepper from reading the first page to the end of the book. April was not happy that her mother was getting remarried again since her dad just died six months ago.At the wedding she looked around beau/Charles who a friend of her lates father she goes and sits with him they start talking and they end up going back to his place. They started seeing each other in secret but she gets pregnant and leaves him without saying anything with her one of her BFF mona to live with her family and have his baby. Seven years and nine months later she moves back to New York buys a place with her friends Elizabeth and mona but unknown to her her friends set her up and live in the same neighbourhood as beau/Charles and his dog. I don’t want to spoil the book but the characters In the book are really great and they all interact well thought out. I really recommend reading this book today.

Billion Dollar Secret is an amazing second chance, secret baby, and age gap romance. I absolutely loved the book from start to end. There was not a dull moment, you get drama, love, and angst throughout the entire story. April begins a relationship with her dead father’s best friend, Charles, at her mom’s wedding. They begin casually dating/hooking up and fall for each other very fast. When April realizes she is pregnant, she panics (for reasons you will have to read to find out) and flees New York City with her best friend to raise her baby in the mountains. Years later when April moves to Brooklyn to live with her two best friends and her daughter, they run into Charles and their lives change forever. L.A. Pepper definitely knows how to write a spectacular book and I really hope we get April’s best friend’s, Elisabeth and Mona’s, story!

Enjoyed meeting the families in this story. It's fun to learn money can't always buy happiness. Rich families are dysfunctional too. Minnie was too cute for words, along with Mickey. As I said before, great book.
Love this story older man younger woman, yet absolutely destined to be together. So much fun and chemistry and a great group of secondary characters you will fall in love with.
Sometimes a toxic family can keep us from developing strong relationships, built on trust and true love. Such is the case with April Hamilton. It's her mother's wedding day, and she's somewhat resentful that her mother remarried so soon after her father's death, even though he was the source of a scandal that rocked the family. Her father's best friend, Charles Beaumont, has known April since she was a little girl, but she's not a little girl anymore , and he's had his eye on her all night. April's best friends, Lissie and Mona, noticed and are encouraging her to flirt a little. Charles, Beau to his friends, watches the wife of his dead best friend marry a man who in completely in love with her, unlike Beau's marriage. He married his college girlfriend because she was pregnant, not because they were in love and he's given up on finding love again. But life has its own way of doing things and it brought them together that night. What was supposed to be a one night stand, didn't stop at one. Not using protection just one night, resulted in a pregnancy that April couldn't face. She refused to trap Beau into another marriage without love, just because he felt responsible for them. But she doesn't have enough trust or clear thinking and she runs. At this point, I'm not liking April even one little bit. She's selfish, short-sighted and doesn't even consider telling Beau that he's going to be a father. When she finally comes back home, after more than seven years, she can't bring herself to tell Beau that her daughter, Minnie, is his child. She has no backbone and firmly believes he would only want her out of that same sense of responsibility as before. The petty self-talk and April's refusal to admit to all her lies is enough to make her a totally unsympathetic character. In the last few chapters, she does redeem herself and becomes the trusting, loving woman she always should have been. The story is nicely paced with fascinating characters and an engaging plot.
April Hamilton comes from a wealthy family. Her father died 6 months ago. April loved him but was mad because he cheated on his wife and had a mistress. April’s mother Barbara gets remarried and at the reception, April ends up talking to Charles Beaumont who everyone calls Beau. He was her father’s best friend. April calls him Charles and they start secretly dating that night. Charles married his childhood sweetheart when she became pregnant and they have a son, Matthew. Charles is now divorced. He confides that he and his wife were not a good match. April ends up pregnant but doesn’t want to ruin Charles life because she knows he would do the honorable thing and marry her. She doesn’t want him trapped in another loveless marriage. April knows she loves Charles so she goes to hide in the mountains with her best friend Mona and her parents. She blocks Charles’ number and he is devastated. He loves April but thinks she doesn’t love him.
Seven years later, their friend Lizzie convinces Mona and April to move back to New York to pursue their dreams of running their own businesses. Lizzie bought a building with the help of an investor. Lizzie’s vegan restaurant will be on the ground floor. Mona’s yoga studio will be on the first floor. April’s jewelry workshop and their apartments are on the upper two floors. Mona is selling April’s jewelry in her studio store. Charles happens to live in the neighborhood and while walking his dog, Mickey, he meets a little girl named Minnie. Minnie is April’s daughter.
Is it just a coincidence that April and Charles meet? Will April have the courage to tell Charles that Minnie is his daughter? Do April and Charles still love each other?
This one was a tough read for me. I liked the premise of the book, but April the heroine just didn't seem genuine to me. She was so wrapped up in the what ifs...the whys, then actually talking to Beau. Beau is the H and her dad's best friend. She isn't in the best of places emotionally when they get together, but she has always had a crush on him. They spend time together and she ends up pregnant. His first marriage was because he got his ex pregnant, and she doesn't want to trap him into the same scenario. However, instead of talking to him, she ghosts him and leaves. Then when she comes back years later, she still doesn't tell him the truth right away. I felt like April was extremely immature, and listened to her friends way to much instead of thinking for herself. And Beau, when she ghosts him, instead of taking the time to try and talk to her more, and looking of her, or even asking anyone about her and her life, he just gives up and "moves on" with one night stands. There is often a theme in books, where the H "moves on" but the h doesn't, and while it isn't usually an issue for me, it just didn't read right. There was so much description of thoughts rather than dialogue, and I felt like something was missing the entire book. It wasn't a bad read, perhaps it was just the writing style I didn't flow well with. I would definitely give LA Pepper another try, because I liked the book, but I didn't love it.
This wedding has spawned soooo many great books and this is another one of them. Having thought they couldn't get any better than Dave and Gio this book landed in my inbox and blew me away.
LA Pepper's books are always full of fun, detailed, sexy, descriptive story lines that keep the reader turning the pages from chapter to chapter and ultimate book to book. This one is no different. From page one she takes us back to the original wedding reminding us of the important supporting cast before drawing our attention to the all important main players, who we have obviously seen before but not fully been aware of. This time round we can place them properly front and centre for their own story and what a story is spun out for us. A tale of two towns, intrigue, money, families, dogs, upset, houses, jewellery, food, colour, age gaps, children, growing up, getting lost, finding each other, yoga, dates, fights and soooooo much more.
LA Pepper's pace through the book is perfect; the story flows along never boring the reader or overloading them with too many details. It's just enough to keep everything in the brain at the same time, even in my brain!
I have nothing bad to say about this book, I loved it, and all the others in the series. I totally recommend that you read them all xx

She does not want to trap him but now he knows all these years later.....
Billionaire's Baby Secret is the first book in the A Billion Scandals series. It is an older man/younger woman, secret baby, daddy's best friend/best friend's daughter story between April Hamilton and Charles Beaumont. He has known her since she was born but now she is all grown up in all the right places and he definitely has his eye on her. He is the handsome older man who is still sexy and commanding, but also gentle and loving. It was supposed to be just one night but it turns into a lot more nights of lost sleep. But when April finds herself pregnant she does not tell Beau as she does not want to trap him, since his first marriage was not for love but because she was pregnant. So instead she takes off and stays away. But seven years later and she is back home with a daughter, Minnie. So while I liked a lot of the story I had a hard time getting through some of the book because of April. I am all for the secret baby story-line but I found that April's inability to fess up to things was annoying, and also childlike. Overall I thought the story was okay as the writing was good and the story had a nice flow.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
If you love the older man, young woman romance novels, this is definitely THE one you have to read! Charles is divorced, lonely & had been best friends with April's dad for many years so he saw her grow up from a distance. April is grown up now & has the natural beauty & the curves in the right places in capturing his attention. Their meeting starts off innocent enough as a casual secret affair but it's instant attraction. This affair is abruptly over with Charles wondering why April ghosted him. Close to 8 yrs. later, April bumps into Charles, their buried feelings resurfacing instantly. April's lies & secrets are revealed. The big question is will Charles be able to forgive April for her disappearance & not trusting him. Will his past pattern with his first wife repeat itself? Did April make the right decision years ago or will her life, as she knows it, unravel with Charles injecting himself back into her life or take away what is most precious to her?
This novel was worth reading, leaving one with the "feel good all over" feelings when you get to the last page.

There aren't many books where I don't care for the heroine. I liked April and the chemistry she had with Beau, but once she just disappeared from his life after finding out she was pregnant, I lost all respect for her. I'm not a huge fan of the the secret baby angle because it's very selfish. The women are only thinking about themselves and not the innocent baby. I can MAYBE see hiding it for a month or a couple at the most, but years is completely unacceptable. Every man has the right to know about a child he fathered. Be honest and let him make the choice. Don't choose for him (unless it's a dangerous situation). So this wasn't my favorite story but L.A. Pepper. Beau was its saving grace. He was so sweet, loving, caring, and patient. Even after finding out about Minnie (she's so adorable and cute), he kept his composure and continued to be amazing to April, although she didn't deserve it. He really was the main character for me and kept me reading. I loved the secondary characters Mona and Lizzie as well.
Charles was friends with April's dad and he meets back up with April when her mom remarries. Sparks fly between them and they end up back at his place. They know that they would be the talk of the town so it would be one night. However come morning both decide they want more and continue to see each other privately. When April discovers that she's pregnant she worries how it will change things between them and doesn't want to be like his ex-wife fir him. So she disappears to have the child on her own. Then seven years later they run into each again an the feelings are still there. But will Charles forgive her for not telling him about their baby?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I love Charles (Beau). I really like Charles and April. I like April with her two bffs, and her daughter. April by herself is less likeable. When we first meet her, she's rebelling against her mother (holder of the purse strings). She is bold and adventurous. Then she disintegrates into a scared mouse who runs away and hides for 7 years. The excuse for her behavior is her immaturity and the family dynamic she grew up in. One would think that motherhood and time would have wrought maturity. While it was good her family finally showed up for her, it was a bit over the top. I didn;t realize when I agreed to review this book that I already had this one and the next two. I am looking forward to reading them and more from L.A. **Spoilers***

This is a new author to me. I only gave this book 4 stars, instead of 5, because I really did not enjoy the first part of the book so much, but the last part of the book, I did. I say this so you will know, that if this happens to you, keep reading. It does get much better the further you read, so I ended up enjoying it very much. I loved little Minnie, and the dog, Mickey. They really added in the light to the story. I ended up really enjoying this book, and am looking forward to reading more.

It's hard to like a character who behaves in an immature fashion. Tbh she acted older than 7 years and 2 weeks previously when she first met him.
Everyone goes on about rights!
But what about men's rights to know he has fathered a child? He can acknowledge or not, that's his choice, the same as she has choices. But to run away and keep that from him does not make a good story! To meet again and not tell him he is a parent makes her an immature character!
The book irritated me no end and didn't finish because it's books like this that allow stereotypes to continue to exist
April and Charles have known each other for years and at her mother's wedding they hook up, but it something that was leading to more. She ran after she found she was pregnant and stayed away for 7 years. When they see each other again will she be able to let go of her fear? Will he understand why she left? Will they be able to tell each other the truth on their true feelings? Absolutely fantastic, I was pulled right in and had every emotion, feeling going up and down like a rollercoaster. I laughed ,cried and fell for these characters and the Minnie is the best of them. Amazing read and I can't wait to read more from this author.
I really enjoyed LA Pepper's first book in her 'A Billion Scandals' series. I loved everything about Charles (and appreciated those chapters where we delved into his thoughts) and really felt for him in the situations he found himself in with a younger woman. And April... sweet April. My heart went out to her for all the serious, 'big-girl' decisions she had to make at her tender age.
I also loved Elizabeth, Mona and all the men and family we meet in the story. Please tell me the next book involves one of April's best friends?? Please?!
age-gaping, a bit of taboo love (the love story of a dad's best friend with the daughter of his best friend), a secret child (considering it a scandal), a second chance for love and happiness after more than 7 years of separation for two immature characters who instead of communicating their feelings they decide to flee or forget the existence of others. Bah .. unrealistic the attitude of Charles who turns a blind eye to a matter that is not at all simple to forgive .... while April is a big no comment.
