Seeing the cover, I was certain I was about to read an erotica book and marked it as such at first. Boy was I wrong. Somewhat. The main characters get up to some heavy teasing and sexual innuendo that will have the reader squirm and laugh out loud and want more.
Likable characters, witty banter, and well written makes this an easy book to fall in love with. And what pushes it "over the top" for me to near perfect, is that when the characters finally hook up, it isn't tacky, doesn't read like bad porn, and gives you just enough to leave something for the imagination.

This is a funny story about a female psychologist Dr. Jennifer Monroe who goes for her gynecologist appointment and finds out that her regular doctor is on vacation. She will be seen by her doctor’s new doctor. Only that when she is told the name Penrose she dismisses it because her crush from high school had the same name but it could not be him. When he walks in and she recognizes him she grabs her cloths and flees the area. This now begins her avoiding his calls. That is until a charity ball and wouldn’t you know it he is there. Once he tracks her down and begins to talk to her she realizes that he still does not remembers her and he thinks that she has a sexual hang-up. Going with his story she asks for his help and to keep it hush, hush because she would not want her colleagues to find out. Here is when the story funny part begins to overtake and it really does become a comedy until you get towards the end. Overall this is a good book with good characters. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Dommage.

Matt and Jennifer
What a story ! Jennifer goeHs in for her OB-GYN after waiting for the new partner (he was running 1/2 hour late). She was waiting in her paper gown getting more impatient when walks in her high school crush. She can't talk finally she tells them she has to use the bathroom. Dr and nurse leave the room. She throws her clothes on and runs.
Again if only Jenny had told him. But revenge sounded good to her. After he finally remembered her. He figured two can play that game.

This was the first book that I have read by this author and I loved this book. It was romance, comedy, snarkiness, and just plan great all in one book. When Jennifer realizes that her crush from High school is her new gynecologist she takes of as soon as she can. What follows is nothing short of awesome. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write a review.

GOODREADS BOOK SYNOPSIS
Payback isn't a bitch -- it's smokin' hot and sexy in the romantic comedy JUST ONE LOOK!
What would you do if the gynecologist subbing for your regular doctor turned out to be your old high school crush? Successful psychologist Dr. Jennifer Monroe does what any normal, well-adjusted woman would do. She makes an excuse to send the doctor and nurse from the room, dives into her clothes, and flees!
Unfortunately, her running away makes conscientious Dr. Penrose conclude she has some kind of sexual hangup. He's determined to refer her to another doctor for her health's sake. If he can just talk to her, he'll suggest counseling for what he thinks are her "other" problems.
Jennifer refuses to take his phone calls, and she plans to never see him again. After all, Dallas is a big city. What are the odds that she'd ever run into him again? Even money when Fate lends a hand.
When Jennifer and Matt meet at a charity gala, he earnestly urges her to seek professional help. Jennifer is incensed that he seems to think she's some frigid old maid. All the old high school resentment floods back, fueling her determination to teach him a lesson he won't soon forget.
You know what they say about payback? Well, this payback is a scorcher!. Kids play doctor, but these doctors play seduction games. And they're playing for keeps.
Will Matt recognize Jennifer? Will Jennifer lure him into her bed? Seduction and sex can be pretty funny when both sides play dirty!
MY THOUGHTS
Joan Reeves took a look into the minds of two of the best male and female characters I have had the pleasure to meet and served up a very engaging match of wits in Just One Look that will not only make you smile at the lengths both Jennifer Monroe and Matt Penrose go to but it will make you sigh at the way the two finally get past their past. I do not want to spoil the story for anyone but who would think that two grown doctors, each who are well thought of in their respective professions, could be so caught up in juvenile behavior that turns into some sexy romps that are artfully humorous and at the same time very enticing!
For anyone looking for a new author in the genre of Contemporary Romance whose witty style will draw you in and keep you reading you need look no further. Joan Reeves is just what "the doctor ordered"!

This is a short read with only 165 pages. The story is cute and the writing is good.. however I wonder why this woman who has been hiding from her school crush all of a sudden wants him to mentor her with her "sexual coldness". Of course it comes back to bite her, doesn't it always? And I think he end was a little pushed since when he realizes who she is (which is toward the end) he says she is the love of his life? Really you didn't even recognize her for weeks.. but it is a very sweet story and I will read more by Joan Reeves. It was a book I read in less than a day and wouldn't have minded if it was a little longer. It's a very light book so perfect for a day curled up on the couch or out on the beach. The only bad thing I have to say is who int he world designed the cover??? It doesn't fit at all and the guy on there is such a geek it's hard to place him as the hero of the story... but the rest is really good. ** it does look like the later cover is better than the book I read **

I really liked this book! It was cute and charming and seriously sexually charged. Jenny and Matt torture each other for revenge for 'wrongs' they think were done by each other when they were teens. It's got a nice amount of humor and sensuality that makes you keep reading and just can't put it down. Such a cute book :)

I loved the author's breezy writing style for this sexy romance! The main characters, Jennifer and Matt, were a lot of fun, and watching them get reacquainted after 15 years apart was a delightful treat. I thought the characterizations, the dialogue and the internal monologues were very well done. I was really compelled by this story. Looking forward to more books by Joan Reeves!

Fourteen year old Jennifer gets her heart broken by Matt Penbroke. The next time she sees him, he's standing at the other end of the scapula. There were lots of giggle-worthy moments in this story. A definite must read for anyone needing a laugh--and a really cute storyline.

Actually a pretty funny book and very entertaining. I thought it was going to be a chore to get thru it, so only ordered the sample to see how bad it would be...and was pleasantly surprised. Not a bad book to take to the beach.

agreed completely giggle worthy! I thought it was so funny, the sexual tension was built up for so long when they finally got together I actually fist pumped... LOL
