Sherry is the author of over a dozen novels for teens and young adults including the best selling Stolen Empire series. She can often be found browsing her local bookstore with a large white hot chocolate in one hand and a towering stack of books in the other. That is, unless she's on deadline at which time she, like the Loch Ness monster, is only seen in blurry photographs. Sherry also writes contemporary romance under the pen name SJ Noble. My thoughts: I have to admit that for this one - I was not hooked from the start! I thought I was, until Chapter 3! When I thought, "NOOOOOOOOOOO, not that!" I put the book down for a good hour before I HAD to go pick it back up and finish it! Of course, then I had to read through to the end! Great story - can't wait for the next one!!!!
Sherry Ficklin creates wonderful characters. They are realistic enough to relate to and imaginative enough to inspire you. She puts her fantastic characters into situations and settings that keep you turning the pages.
It was great to see all the characters I loved from the first book again. It was interesting to see the relationships involved in this story - - - Hades...a loving husband!
This installment of the Gods of Fate series is filled with questionable behavior, wonder, deceit, sacrifice, love, trials, sorrow, and mystery. I can't wait for the next book - Hind Sight!
*****my favorite quote from Second Sight****** "It's like she's a part of me. Like we're connected. She breathes in, and I breathe out."

Book 2 of the series was a really quick read. The storyline kept moving and went along smoothly. Some of the main portions of the storyline went along too quickly for me. It was too easy for Grace to get what she wanted and while the price she had to pay was steep, it didn’t feel as though any emotions were there to back that up. Heartbreak, heartache, and a breakdown should have ensued, but it just seemed to pass by with hardly a care.
Other than the lack of emotion, the direction the story went was fascinating and I wished that the story was longer and would have had more time to delve deeper into the darkest areas of the book. I would have love to have read more about Hades and what they saw there. Ficklin is a great writer and I can only hope that she will continue to write more and flesh out her stories into larger writings that I can continue to get lost in.
Love lost and found, love unrequited; it wouldn’t be right without a little Greek tragedy in the mix. Sherry does a great job entwining your emotions with that of the main character, Grace Archer. There are also great adventures still to be had and as Grace’s powers are on the fritz, she comes to rely more on James, a guardian to the gods.
After a tragic trip into Hades lair, Grace focuses her pain into her mission of revenge on Samael. It’s hard to know who to trust sometimes, and there is definitely some funny business going on, but Grace also needs to take some time to learn her powers and trust her instincts even if it means making the hard decisions.
I definitely am looking forward to Hindsight (Book III) in The Gods of Fate Series coming soon.
A really enjoyable book. Love the way the author combines the world of the Greek Gods and the world of the fae into one story. Also, didn't read the first in this series, however, it was still very easy to follow.
