The Difference a Father Makes: Calling Out the Magnificent Destiny in Your Children

Rate this book
Do you desire to unleash the potential in your kids? Do you want them to stand on your shoulders and soar to unfathomable heights? In The Difference a Father Makes, Ed Tandy McGlasson challenges dads to excel in fatherhood and equips them to do so. Using the model of Jesus and God the Father, he contends that setting up goal lines in the lives of children, marking when they enter into adulthood, is a must -- and a father's job does not end there. In a powerful way, he answers the "Yeah, but how?" question every man asks after being stirred to be a good father. Discover the potential you have as a father to make a difference in the lives of your children! Learn how you can empower your children to pursue their dreams!

This book makes the top 10 list of books that I have read! If I could, I would purchase this book and give it away to every father that I know. There are so many spiritual and applicable truths from Scripture throughout the entire book. It has helped me to be a better father and a better son. It has helped me to be a better child of my heavenly Father. This book should also be read by every mother.

This little book was a great read about being a godly father. Like with many books, there were some fathering tips that I could see myself implementing, and some that I don't think I will do, but overall this was a very worthwhile read.

I have two daughters, and I had guessed that this book might be more about the father/son relationship. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book had quite a bit about the father/daughter relationship.

I would definitely read more from this author.

Simple but powerful, Ed calls for all the fathers to take an interest in their children, affirming them and welcome them into adulthood by their early teenage years, and believe in them. I can't stop crying every time Ed tells a story!

I studied this book in 2009 and it really made a difference. I implemented several of the ideas he presented with my own children. I recently put it back on my currently reading list since I now have three grandchildren and want to revisit the ideas I found so benefical.
