I never been in a math bee before or any math contest, except for my brother who really liked math and got a lot of awards from winning those contests. I like math, unfortunately math don't like me, I always follow the trail but math always hide for his life. Once I got him, I'll torture him to death for not loving me.

For Portia it was like something she enjoyed with her father. Her father was a champion in a math bee when he was in high school now Portia wanted to enjoy what her father enjoys in his entire life. Now, her father asked her to go to the airport because one of the plane have problem in landing and she enjoyed what her father did.

When Miss Frew, announced in the class that the school will be having a math bee and Portia joined the team. She woke up early and study with the other student in the team with Ms. Frew at night she study math with her father.

In the end, she won what she worked for a month and she recieved a momento from her dad that will change her entire life and to become a successful aircraft designer, a chemist and a researcher. A true story of a successful woman, Dr. Portia B. Gordon-Ketosugbo, who grew up in Queens, New York who followed the path of numbers, lines and graphs.

The pictures looked like a painting, painted in a canvass the small boxes were emphasize by the illustrator. Compared to any picture book, this one had its own uniquenes, the shades are different. So do the story of numbers.

New word, Dyscalculia or math disability, difficulty in learning or comprehending mathematics and affects 3 to 6% of the population. Be careful you might encounter someone in heaven who will give you something that you might not expect.

Rating - The Math Bee by Delores Lowe Friedman and Bill Farnsworth (Illustrator), 5 Sweets and the love of math. (My sister liked this one so do I, we prefer math since we were kids. It was just that math don't liked me, I don't care. But for Portia, I'm glad she took the right path and enjoyed her entire life in research math and chemistry.)

Challenges:
