Camp Bohr was supposed to be a normal summer camp: cabins in the woods, a beautiful lake, and dozens of teenagers just like Chris. However, strange things begin happening almost immediately—and Chris seems to be the only one who’s noticing.

When Chris starts uncovering sinister secrets at every turn, he’s determined to find out what’s behind it all and to keep himself and his friends safe. When he realizes that the answers are connected to his painful past, the truth is worse than he can imagine.

A shamed Chicago police officer is desperate to earn back the trust of his precinct. What starts as a secret investigation into the murder of his partner quickly escalates into uncovering a massive conspiracy decades in the making.

A young soldier is on patrol in Vietnam when his platoon is ambushed in the jungle. His motivation for survival is the very thing that ends up betraying him, setting into motion a wicked plan that will change the world forever.

All three stories of In Plain Sight are interconnected. They whisper hints of each other until they all converge at the end in ways the reader will never see coming.

About the author

In Plain Sight is my debut novel and a project that started when I was a teenager. It's been reimagined, neglected, torn down, and rebuilt many times during that span.

On the side, I work as a Senior Content Strategist at a digital marketing agency. I spend my free time reading great books, road tripping, and looking for cool things with my dog Levi. I also co-host the hockey podcast, Dropping the Gloves.

Honesty 4.5 stars, such a good debut novel!!!! Found this in a little free library and I was skeptical but man was I wrong. SUCH an intriguing book, I just was thinking about it all day when I wasn’t reading it. Bit of an abrupt ending with some loose ends I wish I knew more about, but overall such an amazing book. SOOO interesting to read in the current political climate, lots of parallels…..

Love love loved this book! Been excited to read this for a long time and SO glad I finally did. The characters were so interesting and the connections between everything - my jaw was on the floor. Such a captivating blend of fiction, mystery, and history. Everyone should pick this up!

Plot:
The timelines didn’t really make sense for me, nor did the whole “brainwashing” idea, nor did most of the plot. The book overall felt derivative and kind of like a combination of Harry Potter, Lost, Lord of the Flies, and the Maze Runner? Overall lack of flow and precision, it feels like the author wrote this book as a child himself.

Character Development:
I was unable to form a connection with any of the characters, or to even really figure out which one was which. They all spoke in the same way, especially during monologues. The kids also really did not seem like they were 17, but more like 6 or even 10 years younger than that. Adults also spoke the same and lacked unique personalities.

In Plain Sight kept me interested from start to finish. The book follows protagonist Chris as he realizes this is not your average summer camp, he discovers some evil secrets lurking beneath the surface, while a Chicago police officer investigates a murder that leads to a huge conspiracy. Meanwhile, a young soldier's survival instincts set off a corrupt plan with far-reaching consequences. Wirzburger expertly ties these storylines together for a suspenseful and gripping read. Highly recommended for thriller fans!

I found this book in my neighborhood “little library” with a note from Tim in the cover promoting his novel. After reading the description on the back, I knew this story would be worth reading.

In Plain Sight took me on a summertime coming of age journey and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was extremely well written, with vivid vocabulary and setting narratives, I could picture Camp Bohr clearly in my mind. The character development was on par. I can’t wait to share this book with other readers who appreciate a summertime drama!!

Awesome debut novel for Tim! The three storylines that weave together are really well-done, culminating in a homestretch that has you turning the pages very quickly for the last hundred or so. Also some nice history lessons embedded into the storyline as well!

Camp Bohr will give you nostalgia, whether you attended summer camp or even just have visited a campground on a field trip or family vacation.

I found this book to be captivating. The story kept me engaged and I didn't want to put it down. I found myself saying "one more chapter" more times than I can count. It was an easy read. The intertwined stories, as well as its relatability, were a major plus. Great job Tim on your first novel. I hope there are more to come!

I loved the book. It was one of those books that all I wanted to do every day all day was read it! (Unfortunately i had to work and do other things sometimes), but every spare minute i was reading it. I loved the intertwining stories.
