The Producers is hilarious, one of the best comedies ever made -alongside the spectacular History of The World https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/20... -and the story line is simple and we see it happening right now, to some extent, I will get back to this in a moment, after a spoiler alert
Zero Mostel is Max Bialystock and Gene Wilder plays Leo Bloom, in the motion picture written and directed by Mel Brooks, the two main characters think of a scheme to get rich, by being Producers of a play that will fail, they get money from various ladies, in different states of decrepitude, with the promise of profit
Since the project will be a fiasco, there will be no representations, except the disastrous opening night, ergo, they will get to keep all they collect and their scheme is they have multiple partners, all getting fifty or more percent (I forgot the exact numbers) but from a dead in the water production, so it will no matter…
Only it does, despite their efforts – they select the worst ingredients, a preposterous, pompous director, who is so vain and ostentatious that you think God this one will fuck anything he touches – metaphorically – then the writer for the play is an absolute lunatic, a Nazi who lives among pigeons, worshipping Hitler
Then there is the lead actor, who seems so inept, you think he is high on drugs, a sort of hippy, who is as suitable for a Hitler play as The Orange Producer is to lead the free world – the US has just vetoed a UN resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Orange Stupid is on the side of Putin – so it must be a calamity
The public is not warm to this silly gig, and they start for the exit, and our buddies are making their calculations, they will get to keep all that investment in their scheme, alas, there are laughs, and this Hitler in springtime becomes a huge success, it is so outrageous, it gets to be funny, and we laugh at this crazy act
They have to give thousands of percentages, everyone was promised a big chunk, as I mentioned, but there is only 100% in a pie, you could not give multiple slices, each worth 50%, so the successful Producers have a big problem and we, the audience, get to laugh so much, our heads spin, to quote an orange classic
Which brings me to Confidence Man https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/20... the one his cult calls Orange Jesus, who made similar promises before the elections, ‘you will win so much, your head will spin, he will make peace in Ukraine in just one day, prices will drop’ and many more
This monster has called the hero of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, a dictator – and he refused to use the same for the mass killer Putin – then lied about Ukraine starting the war, sent three envoys for shakedown and extortion, asking for 500 billion, on account of what Biden sent, which is about 100 billion
Besides, Zelensky asked for jets and long-range missiles, and was given whatever the US wanted, to surrender to this Mafia boss demanding protection money would mean that multiple generations of his citizens would have to pay, so it is not possible, but this is so horrendous, cruel and disgusting, it gets surreal
Just now, in the background, there is the Oliver show, and the video with the Orange Moron stating he is going to Fort Knox to check the gold, the airwaves are flooded with shit, it is like a ‘shit hole country’ electing one of those brutes, who does whatever, with impunity, what is left is I guess cannibalism, though allegorically, we have it already
Now for my standard closing of the note with a question, and invitation – maybe you have a good idea on how we could make more than a million dollars with this https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/20... – as it is, this is a unique technique, which we could promote, sell, open the Oscars show with or something and then make lots of money together, if you have the how, I have the product, I just do not know how to get the befits from it, other than the exercise per se
There is also the small matter of working for AT&T – this huge company asked me to be its Representative for Romania and Bulgaria, on the Calling Card side, which meant sailing into the Black Sea wo meet the US Navy ships, travelling to Sofia, a lot of activity, using my mother’s two bedrooms flat as office and warehouse, all for the grand total of $250, raised after a lot of persuasion to the staggering $400…with retirement ahead, there are no benefits, nothing…it is a longer story, but if you can help get the mastodont to pay some dues, or have an idea how it can happen, let me know

My Grade = 95% - A
It only recently dawned on me that I could use the script of a play that I am in as a book that I read.
This one is specifically the musical version, though nothing can beat the original movie with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.

Better to see this one on stage, but still a good read.

I got the audio CD of the soundtrack. I couldn't get into it. Nazi Germany isn't funny to me.
