Willow Lang has been a loner all her young life. She is an artist working in a famous museum in New York City, restoring classic canvas paintings.
Is it magic that put Shayne Bantry in her way? Is it magic that took her to Ireland and opened her eyes to a world she never wanted to be a part of? Is it the handsome gypsy that will steal her heart, or is it her mysterious boss?
After reading this book I have one word for you, “Astounding”!!!
This book is a continuation of the first book in the Legend Series “Spellbound”, and brings us back to the Fae Realm and the aftermath that was caused by the betrayal of the Seelie Fae by Gaisioch. Now in the Dark Realm, Gaisioch is planning to unleash the Dark Fae, specifically the Unseelie Fae to wreck havoc on Humans. This causes a lot of trouble for the Faery / Human Realms and the Seelie Fae are determined to end Gaisioch’s plan, no matter what it takes.
Willow Lang, is our heroine in this story and a real spitfire. She has struggled with her heritage (half Fae and half Human), and has a hard time determining which world she belongs in. After an incident in Tir (Fairy Realm) as a teenager Willow decides that she no longer wants to acknowledge her Fae side, and chooses instead to live as a Human. Then years later, Willow is offered a job working for Squire Shayne Bantry at his home in Ireland, and everything changes. She is re-acquainted with Royal Fae Prince, Breslyn, whom she fondly remembers from her time spent in Tir with her parents, as a child. He was the only one that didn’t make her feel like she didn’t belong, and she begins to wonder if he remembers her. Breslyn, as we have come to expect, takes an interest in his “Shee Willow” and asks for her help to keep an eye on her boss, Squire Shane Bantry.
Squire Shayne Bantry, is a former Druid high priest, that has turned his back on his duties to protect the Fae and more importantly the Queen. Shayne believes he was betrayed by the Fae and turns to a darker side, while he tries to find a way out of the situation he was placed in. Shayne also finds himself attracted to Willow, which he refuses to give into, because he is sure that he can’t give her what she needs. However, he starts getting jealous when he sees Willow with Breslyn and realizes how much time they are spending together. Does Shayne want her to be his, or does he just want to keep her away from Breslyn?
The story that unfolds between these characters is filled with plot twists, some that I didn’t even see coming. It also has lots of action, suspense, romance, intrigue, and is one HOT read. I was hooked from the beginning and was unable to put it down. I absolutely love this series and found myself immediately purchasing the next book “Trapped – Legend” in the series, so that I could continue the story. I can already tell this Legend series is going to be on my re-read list for many years to come!!!
Claudy Conn’s Shee Willow, carries us deep into the world of Fae intrigue and danger . . . exciting and fast paced, this is a novel with plenty of plot twists and surprises to support the romance. Shee Willow's tale can stand on its own but Conn brings back the cast of Faery characters we fell in love with from Spellbound-Legend, deepening the Seelie intrigues, romance, and dangers in part two of the series. Once again Conn ignites the page with hunk madness, as every-which-way Willow turns brings hot potential for love and misdirection. A Conn story is always full of rich layers and like dark chocolate cake waiting to be licked from sticky fingers; she tempts even the most discriminating reader to escapism. I can’t help but pout a little when she tortures us with characters that we want for ourselves only to find out later that our hunk of hotness is just no-good for us or our heroine. In Shee Willow, Conn writes from the first person perspective of each of her main characters, giving a different feel to the book than you will have encountered in reading Spellbound –Legend. If you like to imagine yourself in the role of the characters, this perspective and writing style might challenge you at first. It won’t matter past the first chapter, because once you get reading you will find that Conn is a master of the craft and the story is a pleaser. I didn’t think the series could get better but Conn is developing the magical and political intrigue of the underlying plot connecting the books, as well as the romantic drama. Additional characters open the scope for rising action and she continues to weave in future romances and danger. Conn is in high form and never shorts her heroine or her reader. It is pure torture deciding which of the men or Fae to fantasize over, and I do so love the bad ones! You got me again Claudy!
Shee Willow by Claudy Conn Legend Series book 2 Willow Lang was half human and half Fae and never quite fitting into either world. She was hired to go to Ireland and restore some old portraits for Squire Shayne Bantry and her boring life soon became full of interesting twists and turns. She had a handsome Fae prince paying attention to her, a mysterious gypsy and the hot and cold Shayne Bantry. None seemed to offer her the true love she was in search of though. Yet through it all she did learn to accept the part of her that was Fae, as she had always chosen to live human.
Shayne was a Druid priest, was. Something had happened that turned him against what he was born and bred to be. And he hated the very Fae that he was suppose to help protect. All his past ancestors had found their true loves but because of something that happened a year ago he didn’t dare ever give his heart away. If only he could keep his mind from going to the image of his beautiful new employee.
Claudy Conn brings this series to life with her unique characters. Some were introduced in Spellbound, the first Legend book, Prince Breslyn and Princess Ete and Queen Aaibhe, along with the Sluagh. Gaiscioch is continuing to try and find a way to escape the Dark Realm with an army of soulless Unseelie’s. As the impending war draws closer the humans go on about their lives, never knowing of their protectors. Each book builds a bit to things happening behind the scenes but they do not leave you hanging as far as the main romances. Looking forward to Trapped, book 3 in this legend series. **Sexual situations and language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
It is official! I am addicted to this series! It has been a long time since I have found a fae series I can actually immerse myself in and with this one, I have jumped in with both feet. I have read two in three days. I can not help myself. They are that good. While this one had some carry over characters and a continuing story arc from Spellbound - Legend, it also introduces a whole cast of new characters. Once again, I felt like I really understood these character thanks to the amazing voice the author uses in her writing. This is not a series where we see the same couples coming together, facing tragedies and adversity and then after four or five books, finally coming together. That made me happy :). I felt like the main story arc of good vs evil that began in the first book made some nice progression and left me wanting to know what was next. I enjoyed the love stories, especially that of the Ete. It was nice to see her grow into a more central character in this book. I will, without a doubt, be reading the next book ASAP. I am so glad I listened to my friend and started reading this author/series.
Legend Series - Shee Willow-Legend, Book Two by Claudy Conn.
Had a bit of a problem getting into this one as different characters were popping up as the story went along. But as I continued reading the plot thickened and unfolded and became very exciting, not to mention the three gorgeous hunks that had our heroine, Willow's, head spinning.
Willow Lang is a half Fae & half Human and felt she did not fit in either as a human or a Fae. Willow is a restorer of antiquities and is hired by one of our head spinning men, Shayne Bantry, to restore his very large art collection. You will also, once again meet our charming, handsome and mischievous, Prince Breslyn, as well as a very handsome and mysterious Gypsy.
Each time that Shayne & Willow are together, they feel drawn to each other more and more but fight against their feelings.
I do not want to give any spoilers so I will just tell you to read this wonderful Legend Series by Claudy Conn. You will not be disappointed.
Next book in this series is Trapped-Legend and I look forward to continuing in this wonderful world that Claudy has given us.
Tantalizing chapters that speak in first person from different points of view kept the pace of the book quick and punchy.
I enjoyed this story and several characters from the first book are returned including the prince and his sister and best friend.. There is mystery and intrigue and lots of romance with several characters finding their HEA moment Love the fact that I have the next book already!!!!
My Thoughts: Something I've noticed read Claudy Conn's books are that they slowly get to the plot, but once you get far enough in they are WOW! *Grins* My favorite guy so far in this series finally figured out his problems. :) Breslyn!
The Review: So Shayne Bantry has lot's of problems. We just don't get to know them until close to the end. From rather or not he's evil or good, or just lost. We learn he is being a problem, not agreeing with the queen causing problems. Overall I liked him if you can't tell I wrote many lines. Willow is explained pretty easy and quick to understand. Her father is missing and she wants to find him at one point, she meets a mysterious winged fey, and has talking mask problems. Have I suck you in yet? If you love fae books that have some romance in them, then this is a book for you to check out. Would I read the next book? Yup! :)
Willow Lang is hired by Squire Shayne to restore his paintings, she is attracted to him immediately. Willow is half fae half human seer. She steers clear of all things fae due to bad experiences as a halfling child. Her father Desmond is missing, she is fighting monsters, finding relics, dealing with advances from men, and trying to figure out who she can trust. It seems like everyone she comes in contact with has secrets. She doesn't know who to trust. On top of all of that, an evil seelie fae, trapped in unseelie is trying to open a portal to escape and release all the evil unseelie into the human realm. Will she find someone to trust in, as well as helping the seelie, or will she turn her back on all of it. Great story, very interesting characters, several different love angles, and I really liked this book.
What can I tell you Willow is amazing was hiding behind fear of being part Fae , part human of living mostly in the human world but discovery of ones self is always a learning experience and now to be not only in the company of such over welmingly gorgeous men but to discover powers long ignored to stay annonymous has opened her heart to a whole new world and life . Come on the adventure and make sure to read all the series for a very entertaining time.
WOW! Just finished this and I've got a lot of thoughts so I'll just get right to it....
This book picked up where book 1 left off, with the Unseelie Fae and their leader Gaisioch poised to enter and take over the human world and destroy both humans and the Seelie Fae. My favorite fae, Prince Breslyn made another appearance in this story and was his usual sexy self. The main character is Willow, half fae half human, a girl with an identity crisis because she identifies more with her human side. Fae children scorned her and now she is determined to have nothing to do with them. But when the war with the Unseelie's lands on her doorstep, she really has no choice.
One thing that the blurb of this book may have you thinking, is that this is a love triangle (or even quadrangle), and it may appear that way in the first few chapters. However, it soon becomes clear that Roland, while handsome, is not even close to being a contender for Willow's heart though he does play a crucial and mysterious role in the story. Breslyn, who is usually drawn to human women, is more involved with the beautiful Fae Ete, who has loved him her whole life. I loved watching him struggle with his princely honor as he tries to resist Ete, who he feels is too young and inexperienced. He does not want to hurt her. He struggles between his love of human women and his feelings for Ete which come slamming into him full force in this story. While there's is kind of a sidestory there were times when Breslyn and Ete's story shined through to center stage for me and I found myself more engrossed with them than with Willow and the third man rounding out the equation....Shyane Bantry.
The Druid priest Shayne Bantry hates the Fae and has turned his back on his duties as a high Druid priest because of a trick played on him a year before. I love how the background info was revealed slowly over time and Shayne was kept pretty much a sexy mystery man through the whole thing. His chemistry with Willow as electric, almost love/hate at first even though he doesn't know she's half Fae. He wrestles with his own inner demons while coming to terms with what he feels for Willow.
I will say that the first person point of view kind of detracted from the book for me. For one thing, we are not just inside Willow's head....from time to time we are addressed by Shayne and Ete as well, and I have to say I was not always fond of the POV jumping. I think it was okay that Ete was giving voice to what was happening in the Fae realm, but Shayne's narrative was unnecessary and tended to add confusion until you read far enough into a paragraph or chapter to realize that it was him. I felt this would have been better in third person, that way the author could jump into whoevers head she liked and it would have felt more clean.
I also felt this book drags in the middle. We spend waaaaay too much time in Willow's head. From 40 to about 65 percent in the book I started skipping paragraphs and even whole pages just to get to the point. A lot of things were repeated and re-explained and I found this a bit annoying. We've already been told once what human Glamour or the Feth Fiada are....I didn't understand why the author felt the need to constantly remind us things she'd already told us. It got a little redudant.
But these minor flaws are not consistent throughout the book and don't detract from the story too much. By 70% lots of actions, twists, and turns pulled me back in and I was along for the roller coaster ride until the explosive end. I loved the way it was set up, with a lot of loose ends tied up, but also a lot unknown. War between Seelie and Unseelie is still brewing and Willow has been given a glimpse into what is to come. It all sounds thrilling and I can't wait to dive into the next book!

This book starts off with a brief recollection of the first book in the series helping you refresh. (I love how Claudy does that)
We are given Willow’s back story as well and a little bit of the Tuatha De’ (The Fae) history.
Claudy does an amazing job explaining the history and back story so you never feel lost. Her details are very vivid. Its all very well written and you lose yourself in the story.
Claudy writes in a way that makes you forget you are reading a book. You feel transported into her magical world from the very first page.
I really enjoyed how Claudy added side stories for Prince Breslin and his sister. I think its great that we get a little of the Prince in each book.
Add in Shane’s and Willow’s story and you get a magnificent book that you will not want to end.
This is the second book i've read from this author, whilst i still struggled just a tad with all the terms i found it refreshing to read, the plots and twists really had me thinking and restored my faith in ready this type of book, it was a longer read than i thought it would be but it needed to be to ensure we got the full picture, The story involved a confused young women who didn't really fit anywhere which rings true with alot of people at some point in their lives, eventually she finds what she's looking for in a man however things don't go to plan and she has to work hard.
I'll look into reading more of this type of book and be sure to follow the author.
This book was probably one of my favorite in the whole book. There is so much going on in this book. I love the fact that we get to see interactions with other characters in this book from previous books.
This book is full of emotion, heart break and happiness. The author does a good job of soliciting all emotions from the reader in this story. That is the kind of book that I love to read. This type of story is just too easy to fall in love with.
In the 2nd Legend book (not the 2nd book - remember all the prequels involved!), I found myself much more enchanted and engaged than in the 1st book, "Spellbound". I commiserated with Willow Lang, aka "Shee Willow".
The only thing that threw me about this book is the multiple first-person views: Willow, Princess Ete, Prince Breslyn, and Shayne Bantry. While the author did a good job of breaking the text and immediately establishing who was talking in each "break", I still wondered about the almost over-use of first-person POV.
However, IMO, this story is mostly Willow's story. After all, it is entitled "Shee Willow" is it not?
Willow is 1/2 human and 1/2 Fae; her mother was human and her father is the Fae Desmond Lang. Willow has many attributes of the Fae, like the ability to shift, but she's not immortal; she's also inherited her mother's Shee Fios abilities, thus Shee Willow. Willow has spent some time in Tir, but it's never been a happy place for her. She was dubbed "faeling" by many and cruelly treated by a Fae love-interest when she was just 16. So Willow has closed herself off from relationships; it's too hard to explain to humans her Fae-ness and Shee abilities, and she doesn't feel accepted in the Fae world.
Willow's mother did a huge favor for Queen Aaibhe (Ah-veel) some time back, and so the queen offered the Elixir of Immortality to both Willow and her mother in return. But before her mother had decided whether to take the elixir or not, she was killed in a car accident. Willow was only 10 years old. She moved in with her maternal grandmother to finish school. (Until her father took her to Tir to help her learn about her Fae side, and the cruel boy Valtye rejected her.) Willow sees her father fairly regularly, since he pops in and out of her life. He and her grandmother (also a Shee Fios) don't see eye-to-eye.
So Willow finished school, went to college, and now focuses on her career as a restorer of art, specializing in ancient pieces. And then... in walks Squire Shayne Bantry of Bantry Manor, in need of an art restorer for his ancestral art in his home in Ireland. Squire Bantry offers Willow a full-time, live-in position in Ireland. How can she resist? It's like... Fate! (Or did someone else have a hand in their meeting?)
The Fae in Willow responds to Ireland immediately. She also senses something dark, mysterious, and dangerous about her new "hot" employer. But upon her arrival, she sees an Unseelie Fae, and it throws her for a loop. She doesn't know about Gaisoich's evil plan, but she does know that she has to stop the Unseelie before it feeds on a human. Stop it, she does.
Which doesn't go unnoticed in the Fae world. The queen has a special assignment for Prince Breslyn - to keep an eye on Willow. Breslyn is still getting over losing Maxine to Julian in "Spellbound", so his heart is little tender. Princess Ete is still working with and for the queen, and still pining for Breslyn - especially as Breslyn starts falling for Willow in a big way.
The main questions are, what/who is Shayne Bantry and why does the queen need Willow to keep an eye on him? Where does Roland Omren, the gypsy 1/2-cousin to Shayne fit in? Are either or both of them in league with Gaisioch? Both are interested in Fae relics, especially the mask that the queen has asked Willow to help find.
This book takes the reader on quite a ride - through romance, danger, romantic quadrangles (tee hee), thrills, the Slaugh Daoine Fae, lots of ugly, disgusting Unseelie, and more. It's a fun ride, not unlike a good rollercoaster: full of twists, turns, ups, and downs... but all comes out as it should in the end.
Book: Shee Willow Author: Claudy Conn Publication Date: 2011 Reviewed by: Tammy at http://booknooknuts.blogspot.com/ My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW: This book at first kind of lost me :) But then I was found some where along the way LOL.
We have half human half fae Willow Lang who chose to live her life as a human. She wanted no part of the fae half . She always thought of herself as a freak . Her mom dies when she is only 10 years old in a horrible accident .Her father is fae from Tir and her mother a human.
She loves her father very much but she just never felt like she fit in his world or even her human world.
Willow is also a Seer .. Willow is also a restorer of Ancient Art.
We have not 1 but 3 handsome men in this book :) And we also have a ton of action, and also a few laughs. In this book we also have some of the characters from the previous books.. Such as good fae turned bad
Gaiscioch who has turned to the Dark and has now used his skills to breach the Prison Wall that had kept the dark fae in their dark realm and he is now forming his army.
And of course Sexy Breslyn and this time he may very well find the love of his lifetime or does he? Nope I am not telling :)
Loved it! Shayne Bantry (Druid Priest) art collector falls fast & hard for Willow Lang (half Fae & human) who he hired to restore antique paintings. But crocked Gais (Fae turned to the dark side)is trying to catch her with Roland's (Bantry's gypsy cousin) help.
What a great continuation of the Fae Legend series. One of my favorite so far. Loved how the plot kept me in the dark about what the hero's problem was with the Faes until the end. I was shocked. The heroin Shee is a perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Also, our beloved Prince Breslyn has finally settled down and will learn what true love is all about. I highly recommend the series and especially this book.
This book was just a continuation of the legend series. This time around we find ourselves invested in a young woman named Willow who just happens to be half far and half human. But the other thing about this particular faeling is the fact that she is also a seer. She is unknowingly plunged into a world where she didn’t realize she was going to be a major player in. She finds herself employed by an Irish antique dealer who also happens to be a Druid priest. These two are enamored with each other from day one but it takes most of the book for them to get their act together. Meanwhile Breslyn, prince of dagdma, is on his own journey of finding true love and his forever with Ete, the queen of the tauatha de’s niece. As everything is coming together we are left with more questions and the reminder of the next book in the story line.
This is a story with action, greed, murder, fear and mayhem. Shee Willow has been hurt by the Fae so she doesn't want to have anything to do with them. But who can resist Prince Breslyn...no one. While all kinds of despicable situation are happening within the Dark Realm, there are three love stories in the process of being started. Princess Ete refuses to use her mojo on Prince Breslyn but she wants him and always have. Bres's sister and Willows dad are also having problems. Willow and Shayne are running in circles trying to keep secrets from each other. It's an exciting fun hot read. Enjoy I did. Reread for me.
The 2nd book in the series picked up right where the first book left off. The same characters were in this book with the addition of more for the good team. The reader can't help but wonder what the bad guy is coming to the table with. He is really bad. I thought this book followed the same storyline of the first book just with different characters. This female character knew what she was from the beginning of the story and therefore utilized her strengths. The male hero Druid priest is hawt and drool worthy. He has a surprise he is hiding. I am looking forward to continuing the series.
This series gets better and better. If I could give 6 stars I would. This is a page turner. It's one of those books where you keep saying "just one more chapter" until you complete it and say it again. Eventually it's 1 a.m. and you have to stop because you have to get up at 6 a.m. It is like that. Then it 's over and your sad, but low and behold there is the next book! It was also great to see Breslyn find his love.
Claudy has done it again! This book was more intense than the first, in every way! I am completely addicted to the Fae and Faery! I wish I could go to Faery and have me a good old time! This series makes me want to go to Faery and help defeat Gais and the Unseelie! I cannot wait to get started on the next installment of this series!
