Monty Banks has come out on top and he’s celebrating a fresh beginning with his lady, Candy, and their son, MJ. He’s now a legit business man who intends to make Bank’s Realty one of the most profitable corporations in Augusta, GA. Unlike his past, which included a rush from sexual pleasure and getting money; his new pawns are now considered to be the women whom he pays and uses for their services.

In this sequel, Monty battles with the concept of being faithful to Candy, but a strong connection with a new chick in town keeps interfering. After Monica returns, Rico mans up, but it still seems to be in the wrong manner. Can love really stand the test of time or will everything come crashing down around the both of them? Checkmate pt.2

Throughout this story I constantly wondered if Monty was ever going to end his drama with his various "pawns". The addition of his latest pawn seemed to present a new problem. It also seems his buddy Rico had not learned a lesson. Picking up where part 1 left off, Checkmate 2 continued with the drama & provided a few new characters to this series.

I see everybody still has their issues going on. Monty needs to get right. He feels as if it's alright to do what he wants without suffering any consequences. It doesn't make it any better that he continues lying but expects Candy to stay by his side. Come on Candy!!! It's time to move on and finally think about yourself! Even though he holds a special place in her heart, I think it's time to let go. Mona has got to get it together. Man Rico has truly messed up. I wish Monica would just go somewhere and stop trying to cause havoc in other people's lives. Now with MiKayla, that chick was willing to accept Monty's situation but is constantly in her feelings. I wasn't even surprised with her news. Candy needs to find someone that's really ready to settle and be with only her, Mona needs to focus on her and her child, I hope Rico and Monty both get what their trifling behinds deserve, and I just wish Monica would finally meet her match!

The story was good but there wasn't the excitement I felt in the first book. Monty still Monty but he was trying although he should've tried harder. Rico & Mona are trying to put the past behind them but Monica isn't having it. Of course there's an unexpected twist thrown in the end and it's going to be something to find out how it works out. But before the men can come clean I think the cars will tell it all.

I'm a little disappointed with this one. I thought this book would be a little different but it seems to be on the same path. I at least wanted to see her put her foot down and demand change or catch another's interest but it's all the same. Her character is getting more and more dense. The reactions she has when he's doing him is starting to get boring and irritating to say the least.

Wow

Well I must say that part two was much better. The stuff Monty got his self into is too much. You can never have your cake and ice cream too. The stuff is about to hit the fan. Can't wait too see what happens with everybody will Rico go back to Monica?? What about Mona and the baby?? I hope there mom found Love again. And Candy is going to hurt somebody.

Part 2 picks up where part 1 ended and mane did this book get good.Monty and Rico back to their old ways and the drama is just starting can't wait for part 3 to see how their secrets play out

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing for the most part. I'm looking forward to part 3. I can't wait to see how things will end up for Monty, Candy, Mona, Ricco, Monica and MiKayla!
