Taking Charge of ADHD

Rate this book
The investigation of nurturing and its effect on youngsters and teenagers has for quite some time been a focal worry to researchers inspired by kid advancement and training. Albeit a few contemporary analysts have proposed that social researchers have misjudged the impact of guardians on their kids' turn of events and have underemphasized the significance of hereditary factors and powers outside the family, most specialists keep on accepting that youngsters' enthusiastic, mental, and conduct improvement is significantly impacted by the manners by which their folks have raised them.

This book was recommended to me by my son's therapist even though he hasn't been officially diagnosed with ADHD. However, as a parent, I want to know everything there is to know about the disorder including what it actually is and what it means for my child, as well as how to effectively raise my child to thrive if he is suffering with this disorder. The 16 hour audiobook covers all of this in addition to listing stimulants, non-stimulants and other prescription drugs that could possibly be used to help reduce the daily challenges that children and adults face when suffering from the symptoms of ADHD. Plus, it provides a downloadable PDF with checklists and other lists of helpful resources.

I wasn't excited about listening to a 16 hour non-fiction audiobook, but I was determined to learn more about this so that I can help my child any way that I can and be prepared for a possible diagnosis in the future. I was quite familiar with most of the material discussed as I'm very aware of how my son is and the challenges that we have faced over the last 12 years of his life. However, there was some great insight, helpful advice and pointers, and useful information about the medications that I overall found to be beneficial for me as a parent of a child who could possibly have ADHD. I highly recommend to anyone in a similar situation.
