Arriving in Atlanta to start a new life, Ceazia becomes a "good girl" as she scores a condo in Buckhead and a job as a dental hygienist, but when she catches the eye of the hottest rapper on the charts, she, determined to have a drama-free relationship, finds it hard to leave the streets behind. Original.
Since the release of her 2004 debut novel A Gangster’s Girl, Essence Magazine best selling author Chunichi Knott has gone on to pen three additional best selling novels, Married To The Game, The Naked Truth and Return of A Gangster’s Girl. With more than a half of a million books in print and on the heels of her fifth novel, California Connection, Chunichi’s talent as a writer, combined with her consistent and successful track record speaks for itself. In addition to her hard work and relentless drive, Chunichi’s rise to the top of the literary world can easily be attributed to the fact that she has lived through the same fast lifestyle of sex, money, drugs, cars, and designer clothes, that she writes about in her books. The former quiet southern girl from Alabama had her life transformed when she moved to Virginia Beach in her late teens. Dubbed the Urban Diva of literature because of her striking beauty, Chunichi’s stunning looks and Scorpio sex appeal was evident since her teenage years. And she instantly became a magnet for attracting ballers who elevated her social status while introducing her to an intoxicating high-end lifestyle. That lifestyle transformed the sexy seductress into a gun toting Bonnie who was trained to fire. Chunichi’s fast paced lifestyle soon began to mimic that of a vixen and it included stints as a highly sought after local celebrity as well as her being the spoiled female darling of several NBA and NFL athletes. Consequently as Chunichi matured, she decided to make a change in the way she was living. Never forgetting her past but making sure to leave the fast life behind, Chunichi went on to pursue and attain her degree in Nursing, while simultaneously putting her real life experiences on paper. Now a reserved, mysterious beauty, the Urban Diva moves like anthrax, killing the literary scene with books that are sure to keep her on top of the major best seller’s list for years to come.
This book was really hard to put down ! I absolutely love the multiple plots going on. This is the 3rd book in the series and the author did not disappoint. This books follows our favorite characters Ceazia and Danielle with their own hidden agendas and how everyone is a casualty in their war. If you like a action and a fast paced read this is the book for you.
This book did not do a good job at connecting both story lines. I felt like it was trying to connect the story to a following sequel that really should have been one story.
Listened to the audiobook on Libby and this was a breath of fresh air from my current reads and pretty fast-paced. It’s a throwback urban fiction novel that’s apart of a sequel which I probably should’ve read the other two before diving into this but it was still cool. It just would’ve flowed a lot better for me knowing the back story to everything.
There are multiple characters so this story really had a lot going on I mean A LOT. You’ll definitely get a double dose of drama with this one. It’s told from everyone’s POV so there are a lot twists and the situations they were put into made it very entertaining. Also be warned this is overly spicy 🌶️🥵 .
Johnathan was so trifling cheating then coming home to his wife like it was nothing. But Angel was even slicker with convincing him she wanted a threesome and who does he select . . . . . Danielle the woman he was already cheating on her with which she was aware of. Definitely shows that everybody ain’t always for you not even your husband.
But Angel had a few tricks up her sleeve. She was able to execute a devious plan to take down her husband’s mistress. And what a success it was. Angel even got a piece of Danielle’s fiancé Richard in the process.
That wedding scene is all I can say‼️‼️‼️ Talk about getting some get back. This entire story was a MESS gotta be careful who you trust. Danielle was too scandalous to be so naive and allow her life to crumble like that.
Now one thing I hate is cliffhanger endings and this annoyed me cause what if I don’t want to read the next book LOL. There were also parts that didn’t make sense either so if you choose to read it might be best to start with the first book in the series.
Overall it was a decent read I mean it’s urban fiction so you know what to expect. I recommend if you’re into urban fiction novels filled with violence, spice, and drama.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book was just okay. I loved the character’s and their quirky dialogue. Of course whenever there’s an urban fiction story with a threesome in it, it’s some crazy ish. It would have been steamy had the main chick been more into it. But it was basic and lacked emotion due to her knowing it was the side chick. Still desperate to keep a man, she was willing to make herself uncomfortable to please her cheating man. Once insecurities got the best of the bride to be, that’s when everything went downhill for 2 different couples.
I found myself skimming through several chapters to find something that would keep my interest. The multiple POV characters made this story confusing and hard to keep up with as to who’s who and who’s doing what to whom. Multiple POV has never been my forte when it’s more than 2. Each person could’ve had their own part in a series, and that would have made this an easier read. Even the ending was just blah. It could have just stopped at the bride’s cheating being exposed instead of a cliffhanger. Overall the story was good enough to finish the book, which is what counts most.
How in the world did Danielle not know that Angel was the wedding planner? How did she not ask. She found the damn card in his pocket! Even if she hasnt found the business card. Her lovers wife is a wedding planner. Angel told you numerous times about her wedding planning business. Danielle was dumb. Angel should've never gotten that close to her.
This book was entertaining but unbelievable at some parts. Danielle moves to the ATL to get C on some revenge but she spends her entire time in ATL not focused on C. Then after Angel RUINS HER LIFE she decides to move back to Virginia to get her revenge against C. Like girl what? Stay focused. Angel cost you your job and your man. And she was working with Shawn. Shawn tells you and you decide to work with Shawn against C? What? This mofo gave your man a video of you with another dude and chic and now yall a team? I can't. Danielle dumb.
This is my first time reading anything by this author, and I wasn't aware that this book was part of a series, so keep that in mind. I just don't get it. Danielle puts herself in these situations and then screams for revenge when things go wrong. She needs to grow up and learn from her mistakes.
How did Danielle not know Angel was the wedding planner? She found the card in his pocket! Even without that, Angel frequently mentioned her wedding planning business. Danielle was clueless, and Angel shouldn't have gotten so close to her.
The book was entertaining but sometimes unbelievable. Danielle moves to Atlanta for revenge on C but gets sidetracked. After Angel ruins her life, she plans more revenge on C in Virginia. Angel cost her a job and a man, yet she teams up with Shawn, who exposed her? I just can't. Danielle is not smart.
I just don’t get it. You put yourself in these situations and when the outcome isn’t what you want it to be , you screaming revenge. Grow up and learn from the mistakes and make better choices.
Okay so I read this book out of order, because I got the 2nd book without knowing it was a sequel. Anyway, this book was just as good as the sequel and it was interesting learning how these grimy characters ended up in the shady situations they got themselves into. Good book
Once again, I should probably read the cover and not just recommendations before I read a book! But again, I always love to read books from a completely different perspective than my own world view, so this was.... eye-opening?
The Naked Truth is about a character named Ceazia moving to a different state trying to get her life right. But since she's done so much wrong to others, her past is finally catching up with her. a guy she killed back in Virginia, his girlfriend Danielle is on a vengeance mission to get her back. As she's on this mission she began to feel as if her life was perfect and did not watch her back in the process. Her life soon crumbles due to an affair she was in. Everyone's life takes a different turn what will happen next.
My favorite line in the book was "what's done in the dark comes to the light, and "Karma is a Bitch". The reason i like these lines is because, Jonathon his mistress and his wife had a threesome, but it wasn't out of pleasure. Angel was trying to figure out who her husband, Jonathon mistress was and he invited her to their show done. During their sha-bang they recorded the act. Angel was a wedding planner, and Danielle's husband was planning the wedding by himself with Angel. Angel sent pictures of the three some to Richard but cut herself out and Danielle's husband was going to call the wedding off, but angel talked him into showing the footage at the wedding. which was done!
I love this book! it just shows how dirty people can be, and you can never be too careful of watching your back, and you shouldn't let your husband plan your whole wedding, if you know your cheating on him.
I will say Chunichi haven't given Ceazia a rest yet and from what I see there will be another book coming soon. But, will say this book was so so. Liked that there was more added characters to the book. Ceazia moved to ATL to get away from her pass and start over by becoming a good girl she meets Parlay a well know singer. She changes everything for him but, it all back fire when she finds out the unthinkable about his cheating ways.
Danielle also move to the ATL to follow up behind Ceazia for revenge but, in that case she find herself trying to sleep her way up to the top to become partner at a lawfirm and also sleeping with a man that is married to Angel that gets revenge on Danielle for sleeping with her man.
Ceazia find herself going back to the VA because she felt it was time to head back and reclaim her hometown. Danielle find out that Ceazia went. Danielle told Shawn he can get paid if he is welling to help her get back at Ceazia.
This book does open up on more characters but, in a way didn't like how it ended. Read the first 2 books and now this one and soon want to see how the number 4 book will be. So will say this book was a SO SO.
it's good i like it its alright. i found out a lot it will leave u in suspense and leave you on the edge of your seat it talks about a girl who thinks she has every thing in her dreams and she the most powerful women a live she thinks she's the hgic (Head girl in charge. this book gets more and more good every time i read
it's funny i cant read it in summer school any more because the teachers made a big deal out of it it's just a book (not real)
I found THE NAKED TRUTH while flipping through one of Kensington's seasonal catalogs and decided to try something new. The dialog is unbelievable and the characters so colorful they leap off the pages. I found the multiple points-of-view confusing, however, and the pacing is snappy, snappy, snappy. It's a fun read, although I was expecting more truth than naked and Chunichi serves up a generous amount of both.
Story was pretty entertaining. All about cheating and revenge, set ups, disloyalty and selfishness all rolled into one book. What I personally don't like is when a story purposely leaves items undealt with in order to continue a saga. I feel cheated out of an entire story when that happens. I understand the intention of a series but am far more appreciative of each book standing completely on its own merit. Leave me wanting more but complete the story you set out to tell
Although 'C' isn't in this book that much. I still thought that it was alright. I gave it a 3 because at time it was a lil confusing with all the new characters. It was mainly about Danielle, Snakes girlfriend and a chick called Angel and her husband. Although it wsn't much of a follow on from Ceazia, it is still worth a read.
AGain ceaisa has learned that she must do on her own. But Danielle From previous book Married To The Game" Has fallowed ceasia to Atlanta trying to make her suffer for all shes been through. But she is doing the same thing ceasia did i learned to not get caught in the gery same web you wove
the book was exciting and very interesting i think that what angel did was a bit to much but she had to do what she had to do to get her revenge on her husband ceazia never really was in the book that much but it was still good
The stories could have tried together more. I would have liked to see Danielle at least run into Ceazia. Angel did a wonderful job. I'd like to know what happens to her as well.
