Robert Goluba knows his stuff!

A cartel moves in and threatens his family, so he goes hunting.

This fast paced action thriller is one hell of a good story. Robert Goluba definitely knows how to tell a good story. It is obvious that his real world experience and knowledge adds to the realism of Cartel Hunter. Great story, believable characters that you can connect with and care about, and incredible action sequences, leaves you wanting more!!

First, I received an ARC from the author for an HONEST review. Secondly, IM GLAD HE DID !!! Jason Mulder the main protagonist in this story was a great heroic character. He started the story as an active duty USAF PJ (para-rescue jumper) these are the Air Force special warfares version of navy seals, and Rangers. They are badass fighters as well as receiving exceptional emergency medical training. Their motto is So that others may live. He’s had multiple tours in Afghanistan. He’s about to reenlist when his mom and brother go to a forest on an Arizona native reservation. While hiking they come upon armed men who chase them killing his brother. Jason investigates and finds out that these are Cartel drug manufacturers. With no help from local authorities at first, Jason starts to hunt the men responsible. WELL DONE Mr Goluba. If you are reading my review while trying to decide on a possible purchase, DO YOUR SELF & DO IT! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story introduces Jason who has just joined the Air Force and finished the requirements to become a PJ. Jason is back in the States after a tour in Afghanistan and is think about reenlisting for another six years. While he is still deciding, his mother and brother Josh went looking for flowers for a school assignment. Things didn't go as plan while they hunted, instead they came across some unknowns and upon leaving were followed and then forced off the road where Josh was killed and Jason's mother was seriously injured.

Josh then began his own quest to discover who was responsible. As he began searching, he could see that he would need to change his idea of reenlisting. As luck would have it, an opening became available in the AF Reserves where he would still be performing the same things. In addition, since it only committed him for one weekend a month, he would have time to hunt Josh's killer. He was able to obtain help from another member of the Reserves as well as a member of the tribe whose was part of the reservation where the attack happened. Jason had luck and identified one group that was arrested, but as he continued the quest, one of the members of the party was injured badly.

To discover what Josh and Jason's mother found, who assisted Jason and how they all made out in the end, then you need to read this book. It is a definite winner.

The story of a U.S. Air Force pararescueman takes you from the canyons of Afghanistan to the deep woods of the White Mountain Apache tribal lands in Arizona and beyond. The story line is so rich in detail you’ll feel like you are onsite all of the time. Every detail of the characters and their physical environment pulls you in. Each character and his struggles, both internal and external, have been fully developed with the finesse of master artist. Heavy in full blown action, Cartel Hunter will leave you gasping for air. By the time you’ve finished the novel you will feel like a true native, and with a better understanding of the challenges faced by the residents of the Copper State. A highly recommended read.

This was an interesting and action packed story featuring an Air Force pararescueman who must fight a drug cartel trying to establish themselves in Arizona.

"Pararescuemen are Air Force Special Operations Forces personnel attached to other special forces units like the Navy SEALs and the US Army Rangers while deployed. They are the only combat forces in the Department of Defense specifically trained and equipped to conduct combat rescue operations in the world's most remote areas. It requires intelligence and some of the most rigorous physical standards in the military. PJs must be elite swimmers, have great physical endurance, then pass all the medical courses.“

I liked the premise of the book and the character development. I did find the author was well researched and knew his details. However, I felt, at times, he would interpret the action to insert them. This would cause a stall and was disruptive to the flow of the book. Some of the scenes specifically with the girlfriend, were a little cliche but it was entertaining to read. The first book in a series is always tough as you want to set up the characters and give the reader an idea of what to expect. Lots of turns and surprises, which kept me interested. Overall, an outstanding start to the series.

Great Read

Jason Mulder one dangerous dude, not just storming into action but always making sure he has a plan. Pity the soul who goes against him. Well written and a great read. Can't wait for the next one.

This is a very good book. The story flows well, gets your interest fairly quickly, and before you know it you are at the end. What else can you ask for in a work of fiction? This is what you call entertainment!

I received a free ARC copy of this book but am not obligated to review it.

Pretty standard fare. Wasn't horrible and will read another in the series but very generic action and extremely wooden characters with limited depth. Too bad. I am a big fan of the revenge/vigilante genre but this revenge was served lukewarm.

A good read, with many twists and turns.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, fun read. The protagonist, Jason, is a pararescue jumper, which was a refreshing change from the usual Delta Force or Navy SEAL hero you often see in this genre. I also liked that Jason went to law enforcement and tried to have things handled the right way before turning toward a more vigilante approach. That made the story feel more real to life. If you are looking for nonstop John Wick style vigilante action and violence, you might come away a little disappointed. Overall, I found it an enjoyable thriller.
