Tryck Santiago is a wolf shifter who loves riding his motorcycle, hanging with his brothers, and giving Alpha Maverick Brac a hard time. His motto has always been "if you can't fix it, burn it down." But what will happen when his toughness can't fix his mate's problems? And what's with all the tears? Carter Santharian is a tall, slim Wood Elf. He's also graceful and quick-witted, so what was fate thinking when mating him to Biker Bob? The man's choice of clothes was blue or black, and the yellow bandana on his head reminds Carter only that two opposites may not attract. Carter has to fight to make his own way in a world of shifters, and he now finds himself in love with a mate who refuses to show any affection in public. Can he get Tryck to show his more tender side, or will Carter tire of the struggle and shimmer away?
Each book in Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack collection features a different romantic couple. Each title stands alone and can be read in any order. However, we recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This was book 17 in the "Brac Pack" series. Tryck Santiago is a wolf shifter who loves riding his motorcycle, hanging with his brothers, and giving Alpha Maverick Brac a hard time. The only reason Tryck is in the pack is because of his brother's Law and Dagon he feels that they need a pack and he doesn't. Carter Santharian is a tall, slim Wood Elf "Fae" he is also a virgin waiting on his soul mate. We first met Carter when he popped in and told the pack about Malonee and ask Maverick if his clan can move into the woods. Carter realized that Tryck was his mate when he was in Maverick's office but Tryck came on too strong and he popped out. Tryck is a hot sexy timber wolf who rides motorcycles. These two had nothing in common Carter wanted Tryck to show him some affection in public like the rest of the mates did. Tryck thinks that showing how he feels will make him seem weak and he has to be strong. Carter was kidnapped by another wood elf and Tryck will do anything to get his mate back. I also didn't like his bestfriend and roommate and I knew he was up to something. The sex scenes in this book were good. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This volume added very little to the overall story, but the characters were fun to watch as they struggled to find their way into a relationship that Tryck didn't know what to do with and Carter didn't know what to expect from.
Both main characters were, as far as I could see, total idiots. Tryck was stuck up, fixated on not showing any "weakness", and an ass to Carter. Carter wanted a mate, had stayed a virgin and had no clue what to expect. He was a little more lovable because at least he admitted that he needed someone to love, but he did some pretty dumb things as well.
The story and the characters' antics made me laugh, though, so I ended up liking this book after all.
The thing about series that go on for a long time... The author jumps the shark! Your shifter series turned into vamp books. Which isn't too bad... But you know it starts to go downhill when your shifter series brings in magic or fey or whatever. Will read one more but I need my shifter series to get back on track or this might be the end.
4th Reading 1-4-16 Tryck pissed me off, but I still like him.
3rd reading 1-4-15 Ugh. Tryck. Get your head out of your ass, man.
Also, I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before, but there are so many repetitive phrases in this series. "I'd kill a rock" being a big one. Johnny and his "Hawk does this thing with his tongue..." and Hawk is right there to stop him and tell him to stop sharing private business. Kinda gets old.
2nd read June 2014
First read 11-7-13 I wanted to beat Tryck upside the head most of this book.

Book Review: Brac Pack 17: Carter's Tryck by Lynn Hagen
I absolutely adored this read. "Carter's Tryck" is a fantastic addition to Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack series, and it fully embraces the Omegaverse genre with its compelling M/M insta-love story.
One of the standout aspects of this book is the profound inner growth of Tryck Santiago, a wolf shifter who loves his motorcycle and giving Alpha Maverick Brac a hard time. Tryck's journey is both heartwarming and inspiring as he learns to overcome his preconceived notions about public displays of affection between two males. Initially, he hurts his mate, Carter Santharian, by refusing to claim him publicly. However, through personal growth, Tryck begins to understand that showing affection is not a sign of weakness but a powerful expression of love.
Carter, a tall, slim Wood Elf, is graceful and quick-witted, making his pairing with the rugged Biker Bob all the more intriguing. Their dynamic is beautifully explored as Carter fights to find his place in a world dominated by shifters. The contrast between Carter's elegance and Tryck's rough exterior adds depth to their relationship, highlighting the theme that opposites can indeed attract and complement each other.
One of the series' most delightful elements is Alpha Maverick's dreams, which often lead the warriors to their destined mates. This mystical aspect of the Brac Pack series adds a layer of enchantment and anticipation to the story, making each mate-finding journey unique and exciting.
The book's climax, where Alpha Maverick sets up a meeting at a diner, promising that someone in the pack's mate will be there, is a perfect setup for future installments. It leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next love story while tying up Tryck and Carter's story in a satisfying and hopeful manner.
"Carter's Tryck" is a 10 out of 10 read. Lynn Hagen's ability to craft engaging and heartwarming stories in the Omegaverse genre is truly remarkable. Her characters are well-developed, their relationships are genuine, and the paranormal elements add an extra layer of excitement to the narrative.
As an M/M insta-love story set in the Omegaverse, "Carter's Tryck" does not disappoint. The book's exploration of Tryck's inner growth and the challenges Carter faces in their relationship is beautifully balanced with moments of passion, tenderness, and excitement.
Lynn Hagen is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors. I mean, I'm 17 books into the Brac Pack series and not tired of her yet! Each book offers a fresh and engaging story, and "Carter's Tryck" is no exception. If you're a fan of M/M paranormal romance with a touch of magic and destiny, this book is a must-read.
If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS YES‼️‼️

Another fun read. Tryck is too stuck up in the beginning but not unlovable. Poor Carter is so scared of what being mated to Tryck means for him. I am interested to see what happens with the Elves.
Y si amigo, si no me queres dar la mano en publico mira si te voy a dejar cogerme 🙄 Tryck no es exactamente mi favorito pero amo a Carter asi que no hay drama 🤷♀️
Tryck was a lone wolf who didn't do PDA, showing affection was a weakness thankfully he has Carter by his side to teach him how to be affectionate in and out of the bedroom.
This was… eh. I guess I did not really warm up to the protagonists.
And what was up with that weird ending? And then it set up a next volume in a nice way, but it really had a feeling of series ending there. And not that subtly either. Which is funny what with the setup for the next and the fact that I know it continues. Oh well. I hope the next one picks up in Phaney satisfaction levels again.
2012 Re-read Project:
I went and did it. I re-read all the connected series by Lynn Hagen, this time in order of publication date, as recommended, which sadly does not ensure actual chronologicality. That’s twenty-nine books of moderate length, spanning three series (with more to spin off).
I’ll put my thoughts in spoiler tags since I plan to paste this into the end of each review covered here. There are no actual spoilers, so feel free to read this for a general idea of the series.
Tryck Santigo is a wolf shifter and loves riding his motorcycle. Carter is a wood elf and Tryck’s mate. Tryck and Carter are complete opposites; can they find a common ground and learn to love each other before it is too late?
Carter’s Tryck by Lynn Hagen is the seventeenth book in the Brac Pack series. In this book we are dealing with some wolfs who have come into Maverick’s pack, the Santigo brothers. They’re fun; they’re alphas and are just a bit of a loner. Seeing Tryck get his story was really nice. This series does build on itself so you really should read it in order, as the author recommends.
I found this story fun had a few twists I didn’t see coming. I love alpha werewolves and Tryck is one, in spades. I also liked the introduction into the elves of this series, with Carter, who is gentler, but still very male and strong in his own way. I like how he balanced Tryck. He softens the alpha in Tryck, which is good to see. Carter and Tryck have a connection which translates across the pages and made me feel connected to them. I also felt connected to the Santigo brothers. They are rough around the edges but totally loveable. I personally love Lynn Hagen’s Brac Pack series and really want to see more of it. She blends the men so well that when you meet them again it is like catching up with an old friend, which I like a lot. You do get to re-meet characters we’ve already met and fallen in love with in previous books and seeing where they are now is fun and an adventure in itself.
Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each): Brac Pack Christian's Coven Zeus's Pack Demon Warriors The Exiled
These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order): Brac Village Shadow Tribe BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids) The Remus Brothers Wolves of Desire
This story was humorous because of the combination of three men that agitated each other beyond reason. How one man used to controlling everything around him and never ever wanting to appear wanting to appear soft, has his beliefs challenged by none other than his mate!
Why would Fate put together two men so diametrically opposed was beyond both of them? But the mate pull was incredibly powerful, and these two men were incredibly stubborn until danger threatened.
Then action had to be taken. All of a sudden losing a mate meant more than just losing your mind - it meant losing your reason for living & all other stubbornly held beliefs became petty and inconsequential.
Good story. I totally love Carter. It's nice to know what happened to the other books' characters. But there's one thing that got a little on my nerve when I read. I know I nitpick a little too much but it was just too big of a mistake. I can easily forgive grammatical or vocabulary mistakes. A mistake here and there no problem but writing three times the same thing in less than ten lines is way out of there. the author wrote THREE times (in a little different way each time) that Carter enter his dwelling (that in all of nine lines). Not one not two but THREE. thank god that was the one and most obvious mistake of this book.
typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
I liked that Tryck put his mates needs over his own discomfort. Everyone needs loved and Carter just wanted to know that he was. After that hiccup they seem to fit very well together.
I very much enjoyed the snap shots of the various couples at the end of the book. We know that Laws story will be next.
I do wonder how the fey will feature in future books.
Can anybody tell me why these Wood Elves are such wimps? With their teleportation ability they could be very dangerous. And to be honest, in my eyes Tryck is the weak one in the relationship and not Carter. And that he always clashes with Maverick is because both are control freaks and bullies at heart. But hey, this is what Alphas in these stories always seem to be.
I think she has gone from writing that is too simple to too many unfinished threads, too many characters and too many tangents. There is not enough room in 100 pages for all this, she cannot fit in a story too.
I really don't know why I'm giving 3 stars to all of them. This was more like 2.5. It's ruining mpreg for me which is a really big minus, but on the other hand, Maverick has been quite entertaining in the last few books.
it was slow at the beginning, not really good but half the book it was just as great as the other stories and so fun ! I also love Maverick's dreams XD
