I got this less because I am into roses, and more because it's of the same era and done by much the same team as Victoria Magazine's At Home with White: Celebrating the Intimate Home, which I dearly love. I didn't expect to end up loving this one as much, and I don't, but I enjoyed it. Although a short book, it touches on many aspects of the rose, from its history to how garden designers used it to how it inspired poets to how it's been translated to home decor from wall treatments to pillows. Interspersed are little 'recipes' ranging from potpourri to a love potion. I would have liked more snippets of rose-inspired poetry but that's my only complaint.
Recommended for anyone who enjoys the Victoria Magazine decorating books.
