Romantic, passionate or filled with laughter, love is best when it leads to those two special words, "I do." In this brand-new collection, three beloved Regency authors present couples whose courtships may begin with nothing more than a stolen glance--or a stolen kiss--but will surely end up at the altar!
"Stolen Away," Shannon Donnelly As the brains behind her beautiful cousin's social success, Audrey Colbert has orchestrated the girl's match with the Marquess of Arncliffe. But when the bride-to-be is kidnapped, Audrey finds herself face-to-face with her cousin's fiance--and realizes that she has fallen for the charming nobleman herself! Music may be Miranda Granville's first love, but her marriage-minded papa is not concerned with her future as a pianist. Only classically trained Andrew Owen believes in Miranda's talent, and soon Miranda is hoping that their perfect duets will lead to a much more romantic partnership.
"Sorrow's Wedding," Donna Simpson When Sorrow Marchand accepts Bertram Carlyle's proposal of marriage, she is counting on the kindness she believes is hidden beneath his stern exterior. Her family's life is decidedly "original," if not truly eccentric, but Bertram is man enough to meet its challenges. After all, her quiet suitor has already stolen her heart.
Shannon Donnelly's writing has won numerous awards, including a RITA nomination for Best Regency, the Grand Prize in the "Minute Maid Sensational Romance Writer" contest, judged by Nora Roberts, RWA's Golden Heart, and others. Her work has repeatedly earned 4½ Star Top Pick reviews from Romantic Times magazine, as well as praise from Booklist and other reviewers, who note: "simply superb"..."wonderfully uplifting"....and "beautifully written."
In addition to her Regency romances, she has had novellas published in several anthologies, has had young adult horror stories published and is the author of several computer games.
I can't remember why I got this book. Probably some website recommended it in a way that sounded good. It's a book of three stories by three different authors. The first one by Shannon Donnelly was probably two stars. It's about a cousin who is in love with her cousin's fiance. The second story by Jennifer Malin (female musician thinks she's in love with one many but he's a jerk so she elopes with someone else) came this close to being a wall-banger. The only reason this book didn't end up across the room on the floor was that I was very tired and there was a third story. Donna Simpson's story was also one star. Girl with eccentric family gets engaged to straight-laced man. Blah, blah, blah. I hope I don't forget that I've read this book and then try to read it again. That's the worst when I try to re-read a bad book because I've blocked it from my memory.
