A cranky lion gets a second chance at love. Trick or rawr? A young, drunken Jack plays a prank on the town's witch only to get caught. One curse later and he's stuck in the house he tricked, literally, unable to leave. Woe is the lion. Decades later, he's still a prisoner and a cranky one. His attitude isn't improved when a freak accident forces him to rely on a nurse while he heals. Harper doesn't believe in magic, so when she's asked to help out a recluse, she's determined to get to the root of his agoraphobia. Only it turns out he's not lying. Jack really is under a spell and this curious cat can't help but poke at it. Is love the trick to break the curse?
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Jack O' Lion is a delightful Halloween treat. If you are looking for a short fun story to read for Halloween, then I highly recommend it. There isn't a ton of depth to this story, but it's very sexy and entertaining. I really loved the elements that bring this book together. We have shifter lions, grumpy heroes, curses, and witches. I found the Halloween connections to be really fantastic to delve into. It was also fun seeing these two trying to bring down the curse. Added some mystery and intrigue to the story that was most enjoyable.
These wonderful lions are always good for some fun, heat, and shenanigans. This was some new characters, and introverts at that, but still had the zaniness expected. Couple of nice plot twists too, just to keep things interesting, and another set of lions finding their HEA <3 p.s. really, seventeen cubs!!!
I listened to the audiobook from Kobo plus. The narrator was excellent and the story was entertaining, as usual by this author. A lion shifter has been trapped at home by a witch's curse for the last 20 years. He's unable to change from a man back to a lion except for Halloween. Enter a feisty nurse who comes to look after him, after he's broken his arm and leg.
Jack and Harper are the new Lucy & Ricky, Darhma & Greg, Sally & Harry duo comedy couple. Or Batman and Robin KABAM! SWAT!! KABOOM!!! They have you cracking up from the very beginning of the story. I could not put this book down. I know it's a fantasy it drew you in like it's the real thing. You felt like you were involved. The mystery has you thinking and scrambling to figure it out. Ooo oo! I figured it out. These two remind me of George and Louise Jefferson(I think I'm telling my age). It's that type of romcom but in a paranormal kinda way. I know I'm going in a roundabout way, but I don't want to give away the story because then you won't read it. But trust me when I say this is a must-have read. As always, Eve Langlais gives it to you straight, no chaser(like how I did that🤗🤗?) Could be read as a stand-alone, but why would you want to when it has a slew of books that are so wild and crazy before it?
I just wanted something easy and fun. I'm giving it 3 stars, but it's more like a 2.5 stars. The dialogue was too much at times, especially with all the "bargh" or "bah," which are sounds that don't look quite well in written form.
This was my first book by the author, and I liked how she writes and how she creates these worlds, especially the mystery of how to break a curse. I really love a good mystery to solve. Maybe that's why I kept reading. The whole mystery and their banter were good at times, but I didn't feel the chemistry. Maybe it was because it was a short book and needed more time to develop their attractions... I don't know.
In general, it's an okay book to read on a Sunday night, like me.
Oh I absolutely loved reading this book. It was so good from start to finish. I can’t wait to read the rest of “A Lion’s Pride” Series. Jack and Harper were funny and adorable. I loved that the story kept him home bound for such a long time. Then comes Harper and things started to get better for Jack. Her dad was a piece of work and his mom was such a busybody. But it all worked out in the end with the parting of the ways with Dorothy. Poor Glinda the good witch left the witch world too soon. The seance was also funny. Well on to the next story and considering that the remaining books in this series cost $56 with no kindle unlimited I’ll have to wait to purchase them on a double points day. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I listened to the audible book and read too. Could have been a standalone instead of book 15 in a great series. Lacking connection apart from a few small pieces to make it part of A Lions Pride. Very little of the humour expected by this author and no biarchs causing mayhem, which lets be honest, this book was made for their ridiculousness. Liked Harper and her no nonsense attitude and approach to life. Jack was funny to a point and his mother interesting. Harper and her father’s relationship was entertaining, totally agree with her thinking. He deserved nothing.
Broken bones, a curse, cat, a nurse, a mother, and opera singer are some of the things happening in this story. This delightful story is by Ms Eve Langlais . This story had me giggling and out right laughing out loud! It was that good! Get the book and enjoy a couple hours of me time!
Eve Langlais has the greatest imagination and her characters have such colorful personalities. When a grumpy cursed lion gets stuck in the care of an overpowering nurse who is sent to take care of him while he recovers from an accident, things get very uncomfortable in more ways than one. Loved it!!!
I was so glad that we got to return to this world. Always an entertaining read with crazy characters and hot smexy times. I liked both lead characters, grumpy hero and headstrong heroine. Loved their chemistry and interaction. Satisfying HEA, and possibly introducing next lead character? Eagerly awaiting next book in this series.
Jack and Harper are like the perfect couple. Jack met his match with Nurse Harper. Cute little read, lots of surprising little twists. One was a shocker. I did finally figure out what was keeping Jack stuck to the house but it was a little towards the end when they were doing the seance and Glinda flickered out.
I love the Lion's Pride series. This book made me laugh so hard. I like Harper's style of nursing. Jack's cooking ability was no way to make lions leave him alone! I do hope Eve Langlais continues this series. Enjoy!
How funny love the wild This book is amazing minute And then up the next wonder what's going on in the world but this is the great author she really is and you read these books they're good they're outstanding you don't you won't wanna put it down
Two unusual characters and quirks galore. Meet by happenchance and fall in love. Very reluctantly. Dont think the story needed the parent twist. But rest was great.
