After reading friends and family by Margaret, I didn't think the story of Beth could get any better, how wrong was i?
Rosemary`s search for family was hindered by humiliation, hurt and betrayal. All this with Beth thinking she would never see her daughter again, after giving her up for adoption.
This author has an amazing insight into feelings of the heart. I can honestly say that her books have brought both laughter and tears in equal measure, with the ending leaving a feeling of warmth and honesty that puts the world of snobbery, for one woman, egg truly where it belongs, on her face!
Please Read Friends and Family first then Rosemary, live her hurt and search in equal measure, then bask in her love of family, friends and the hope of a fulfilling relationship.
This is a beautifully written book by Margaret Kaine. It outlines the suffering of Rosemary the hard lie that she had with a broken home. I mother is tragically taken from her in an accident, then the heartbreaking thing for Rosemary is she betrayed by her boyfriend who conned his way into her homelife with her mother. Rosemary ends up homeless and goes to live in with the family of her work mate. She decides to look for her grandparents and then finds she was adpoted, so she goes on a quest to Stoke on Trent to find her relatives. Lets say alls well in the end. I musn't spoil it for you. But if you read Ring of Clay by Margaret Kaine and then Rosemary it will enlighten you more. So, this is a well done to Margaret Kaine and a big thank you for an enjoyable hard to put down book. Looking forward to reading more of her books.
I really enjoyed this sequel to ‘Ring of Clay’ and loved the characters Rosemary and Beth. It was so heartwarming and had me crying and laughing at times. I really recommend.
I loved this story; it was hard to put down. This book follows on from “Ring of Clay” which was about Rosemary’s mother Beth Sherwin. Both books can be read on their own though.
Rosemary Latham was left alone, without a home and broke when her mother Brenda died in tragic circumstances. Her father had left them when Rosemary was 14 and they took in a border to help with money, Rosemary thought she had fallen in love with him but Tony betrayed her.
She finds a temporary home with a friend’s family and while there gets the idea to trace her grandparents. When she gets her birth certificate she finds out that she is adopted. She starts to look for her natural mother and to help with her search she takes a job in the area her mother lived when she was born.
Beth has always regretted giving up her daughter and her family have spent the last few years looking for Rosemary. When they are first reunited there were a few obstacles to overcome. Throw in her new relationship with a doctor she met on the train trip up, who has a mother who only wants him to marry the best you have a great story.
