This is not a book you are going to sit down and read through and through; rather, it is a collection of letters covering all manner of problems suffered by laborers during the depression. I read this book over several months. It has good information, very little commentary, almost no information about how the government responded, and no information about the resolution of the problems stated within the letters.
If you are interested in the Great Depression, you should read this book because there is valuable information; however, if you have little or no interest in this period, I would skip it.
