This is a compilation of the writings of an amazing man, Richard St. Barbe Baker. I am currently producing a documentary of his life and am reading this book as research. Baker was an environmental visionary who lived most of the 20th century and led efforts around the world to increase tree planting and to save virgin forests, including the redwoods of California. For more, see my friend Paul Lample's great tribute site www.ManoftheTrees.org.
Oh my goodness this was dry and lacking any narrative flow. A confusing ramble of descriptions of people he had met over his 80+years. I should have added it to my "so bad i couldn't finish it " list.
