Wonderful, well-documented and thoroughly covering the misery and misfortune of the Irish during the Potato Famine years of 1845-1852. I never realized how politically charged this era was. Makes it much easier to understand the anger and violence of Sinn Fein. I can't condone it, but I can much better understand it.
It was a heartless genocide that isn't as well known as it should be. Hopefully O'Mudrchadha's book corrects that skip in history.
