Special Agent Kate Weiss is hiding from a kidnapping she doesn’t remember.
Jack Tucker’s life as a morning radio host is uncomplicated, attachment free, and without regret.
Brought together by a mutual friend, the pair are at odds from the moment they meet. She finds his confident swagger arrogant and beyond reproach, while he in turn sees her as a self-righteous controlling dictator.
As Kate struggles with her confidence, Jack begins to realize his life without strings is missing something, or someone. Adversity quickly becomes attraction. Jack and Kate find themselves flirting with the flames of unexpected desire.
As emotions rise, scars are revealed and secrets are uncovered. Will the reality of their very different worlds bring them together or rip them apart?
Jack and Kate are on the run. They are surrounded by lies and deceit and the truth is closer they they could imagine. Can they discover why Mike was killed, and keep themselves clear from the Killers till then? Kate puts it all on the line. Will she sacrifice everything to find the reasons behind Mike’s death; will she find what she is searching for? Will this be the be all or end all for love and life?
An incredible ending to The Tarot Series - Two of Wands by Amy. The story takes off where it left off in Shockwave. Jack and Kate are still in turmoil as to whom the killer is and why Jack was killed and we are kept in suspense and in trepidation as to the outcome. One again a story in which Amy tells - delivers a strong storyline filled with not only luscious goodies, involving two characters with chemistry enough to blow up any science lab but mutual love and affection. Dialogue is crisp, the suspense is action packed and the romance is ** scorching ** flames n all - with the extra - *WHO DUN IT * you won’t see coming.
Suspense that will not only have you frantically flipping to get to the end, but an ending to give you heart flutters and holding your breathe. Fluent and fast paced story line with enough action, romance and drama to keep your interest piqued from page one. Great cast of characters that have continued on from book one, ones we have grown to love and ones we wished we could not only kick their arse but do some serious mojo to.. ** Jacki chan style ** ;)
Amy has created a Kick arse heroine who is not only smart, but caring and all for one and one for all kinda girl. She goes for it hammer and tong – tooth n nail - till the very end with legs, kicking and screaming … ** she never backs down ** I love her spunk !! Now Jack he made me melt !! So loving and yet determined… A character in itself I’m sure you will enjoy from book one onwards.
Amy continued to weave her magic throughout the three book series, a must read to add to your reader or your tbr pile you won’t be disappointed!!!
Kate is an FBI agent, hiding from a kidnappiing she cant remember. Her friend Mike offers her respite at his radio station hoping that life moves on and that she will remember that horrible night and the details that it entailed.
Here Kate meets Jack, the morning radio host, he is cocky and arrogant and Katie and Jack find themselves slightly deturbed by each other, Kate with Jacks arrogance and finds him approachable, Jack with Kate's controlling nature.
A business trip finds Jack and Kate finding their desires run along the same path, but are they already putting out the flames of desire before the passion truly ignites. Emotions rise, past is revisted and secerts are reveiled. Two both very differnt people from two different paths of life, with this bring them together or tear them apart..
My Review !!!
Once again Amy Romine has delivered the goodies. – A suspenseful romance filled with twists and turns, I’m sure not even a roller coaster ride would take... You will be shocked, intrigued and drawn into this suspense, flipping to find out what’s next...!!
In Shockwave we meet Jack and Kate. Jack is a cocky, handsome, self absorbed and arrogant radio host. Living life enjoying his unattached status and living foot loose and fancy free. I rather enjoyed Jacks ** Cockiness ** if you call it that, he had spunk, yet we also found his weaknesses. Despite his hard, non caring exterior Jack found himself wanting something in life he wasn’t searching for. He wasn’t impressed with Kate’s assertiveness and controlling nature but in time, he works out Kate’s true side. So both Characters like polar opposites, but saying that Opposites do attract... Kate, an FBI agent, good at her job, and dedicated. I enjoyed her assertiveness – 20th century kick arse chick style aurora.. She was her own person! Believed in her ways, and stuck to them. Protecting the ones she cared about even if it meant hurting herself in the process. The attraction between Jack and Kate was Smokin !! Sensual and full of passion.. Their loving was tasteful, sexy yet also enough to have you eagerly flipping briskly through the pages. ** Lusty wink ** Nothing quite like a bit of romance and love to add to a suspenseful story.
Shockwave is an intriguing, fast paced suspense, with a climax that makes you want to rip the arms of the chair you sitting on!! It will have you nodding and wandering and slightly heartbroken …. But I knew Amy had her reasons, which will come about in book two I’m sure. The dialogue flowed smoothly, chapters fluently running from one to the next, plot well outlined and character development wonderfully created. I enjoyed all the secondary characters, all playing their parts well, in the twist and turns, throughout the book. We all have characters we fall in love with, others we don’t like to see leave due to unexpected circumstances, but all their parts vital in creating that atmosphere in Shockwave... Ending is definitely not predictable... It will leave you shocked!! Another great start to a fabulous series and I eagerly await book 2.
MY OVERALL REVIEW FOR THE TAROT SERIES: SHOCKWAVE, BACKLASH & FALLOUT: **This review does NOT contain any spoilers** Shockwave, Backlash and Fallout are the three short novels that comprise the Tarot series by Amy Romine. The reason I decided to review these books as an overall series v. each individual book is because if you read all three novels consecutively they make one large novel- book two picks up where book one ends and book three picks up right where book two ends. I read all three novels back to back, and it felt like I just finished one large novel.
This series was a little jewel that I recently stumbled upon. Quick, addictive and sexy are probably the first three words that pop into my head when recalling this series.
The excitement in this series comes in three main forms 1) romance 2) action 3) suspense. Kate and Jack start off as business associates, but their heated banter and sexual tension eventually leads to a whole lot more. Jack and Kate aren’t long-term commitment types. Jack is accustomed to meaningless one-night stands, and Kate is used to people leaving her because of her demanding job. Jack and Kate together are a relationship catastrophe waiting to happen. They both have commitment phobias and a hard time trusting people. Jack and Kate’s relationship and their problems were very realistic. The situations they get themselves into, not so much. The suspense and action comes in the form of Kate’s career. She works for the FBI. She was recently kidnapped, and she is having a hard time recalling what happened to her. One of her good friends, Mike, rescued her, whisked her away to Texas, gave her a job, and demanded that she rest and recuperate. Her kidnapping was so traumatic that she is blocking out the events. That is when crazy things start to happen: people are murdered, people are poisoned, people are wrongly accused, and some people’s secrets are discovered.
I enjoyed this series beginning (Shockwave), middle (Backlash), and end (Fallout). However, I do feel this series is a little overpriced. I know $4.99 isn’t much per book, but it is expensive considering how short the novels are. I think the author should put all three books together in one bundle and sell them at a lower price. However, that is just my opinion.
Overall, I gave The Tarot series by Amy Romine 3 STARS (3.5 STARS). I have sort of been in a book funk lately, but this series really excited me and gave me something to look forward to.

This is the first in another three book series from Amy Romine, the author of the awesome Trust Me series. Once again she has hooked me in to the point that I am now dying for the next!! I heard somewhere that it is coming out May 1st! Shockwave is about two very different people, a self absorbed radio host and an head strong FBI agent. You know of course from the beginning that they are going to get together, but the question is how. Amy is not kidding when she states that she makes her characters work for their HEA! Once again, Amy leaves us hanging with an unexpected development on the last page of the book, needless to say I WANT MORE!!! Definitely a goodread and with book 2 coming out so very soon the torture is not as great. If you haven't read her first series, I HIGHLY recommend it! Loved it, want more, I would recommend any of her books to someone who love true romantic suspense! Amy has mastered it, and proven it again!
Started a bit cumbersome, but the action most certainly had me hooked about midway. Definitely worth picking up and giving it a really good read. You'll have to get the two follow on books before the time you reach the end of this one or you'll be speeding to the bookstore in a panic. Better yet, just pick up the entire series and call it good. I'm a fast reader and finished the first two in the series on the first day, the third the following day. Quick reads, and will have you transfixed and wanting more.
I picked it up and adored it. Very different from her last series, which makes me like it even more. She has an awesome ability to create characters that fit together, making them believable and the sensuality hot. You can tell she is setting up the explosion in book two. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Fist sight I wasn't expecting to like this at all. my friend dared me to read it and well she won the bet, I liked it. There is enough suspense to keep me occupied and the sexy stuff didn't bother me at all. I really liked this, so much so I asked her for the rest of the series.
Oh my where do I start !!! Love the cover !!!! Amy delivers great cover love !!! Second book in the Tarot Knight of cups series, Amy takes on a Rollercoaster ride, that will have your heart racing and your fingers frantically flipping through the pages just to get to the end.
In the grip of fate there is no escape !!
They were worlds apart two ships sailing in different directions, fate brought them together, the current lead them to each other, drawn together by passion, pulled apart by fear to be reunited as a tragedy descends.
Kate returns to Dallas to search for Mikes killer. Jack struggles with that fact that Kate is a suspect in Mikes murder and can no longer sit on the sidelines, his instincts tell him to protect her and he rushes to her defence. Danger looms, a killer in on the loose, all the reasons they parted now brings them closer together. Jack and Kate's lives are at risk, death is knocking at their door, but will the killer succeed in keeping the secerts safe and the truth withheld? It seems that the truth behind Mikes death is nothing as it seems. Katie and Jack are determined to find out at all costs..
Backlash is a fast paced suspensefull romance filled with all the goodies needed in this genre. Fast paced I suppose on how fast you like to read and find out the goodies . ** grins ** But defienlty enough to keep you entwined in the mystery. Amy never disspoints, her characters are likable, lovable and she continues on with their manerisms and traits from book one into book two. FLuently paced read, with chapters that easily flow, enough suspense to keep you intrigued and piqued, and enough romance to keep the passion alive with the characters. Secondary characters all relevant and needed to create this interesting storyline, there is murder, mystery and definetly an ending that is un-predictable. With each new piece of the puzzle uncovered in this murder another victims body was discovered, this alone was enough to keep reading to find out who and why???
Storyline is enthralling keeping the reader intrigued from page one right till the very end. I am really enjoying this series and certainly cant wait for Fallout !!! Im eager to know the secerts, and as to why they killed one of my favourite characters !!!
Loved it, loved it, loved it. They say that book 2 is always the darker of the books and this is true heart is a heart thumping, angst ridden fabulous way! I just love how the author tortures her characters. It is awful I know but it makes it so much more wonderful when they finally win! Another win for Amy! Props to you!
Book 2 - kept the story moving and added more. The surprise of book one wasn't too far out there that I didn't believe it. It seemed like a natural progression. Romine has a great ability to build the suspense cage around you without the reader even realizing it. Great Read!
Third in the series did not leave anything left hanging. The pace and intensity continued through the whole series. Enough action to keep me entertain and the romance wasn't overly done.
