She's the woman who broke apart my marriage. The other woman. And she's here, at the conference I was lucky enough to score an invite to. They're telling me to put my anger aside...but when she grins at me...I lose it.
Gen
The woman is here. The one who changed my ways all those years ago when her husband duped her. And she's the sexiest woman alive when she's all riled up.
One fateful elevator break down later and we're fighting off passions we didn't know we could have.
For a novella, this had a rather good plot and enough character development that it felt like more than a novella. The pacing was good and enough spice to keep it interesting. I loved the strong females characters in this book and Rosie, Sophie and Mara (side characters) had me wanting to know more about their stories. The author could use these characters as spins offs from this book. I felt like it was the sapphic version of Stepford wives lol. Thoroughly enjoyable and I loved the elevator scene!
A fast and smutty Sapphic romance with a simply stunning cover, quite a fun read despite a lot of minor issues and flaws. Pretty much what I was expecting; your typical cliche modern romance, not particularly realistic but makes for satisfying fiction. Mentions covid and tiktok which gives it a dated feel for me personally. Easy reading with writing that isn’t bad but does have its errors and clunkiness, particularly in dialogue.
I did find it impressive to get across the feeling of remorse from Gen and actually manage to make it easy to forgive her for being the other woman intentionally. Usually her kind of behaviour would be irredeemable but the author manages to do a good job in making the reader empathise and forgive her.
It was quite overly obvious with telling everything at you, yet still with no real description on what they look like, aside from Matties weight, body ‘flaws’ and Gens long blonde hair. Speaking of which brings me to that point - I really didn’t like the constant comments on Matties weight, particularly how she gained then lost a few stone after her divorce… I just feel that was a little rude and unnecessary in the way that was written in. I am also really not a fan of the forceful lack of consent and the whole thing was a little toxic and cringe. As well as everything just getting constantly magically fixed and all better with no real explanation or journey.
Overall if you’re looking for an unserious quick and spicey lesfic, go for it, it hits the spot.
Amazing book. Mattie, the wife, Gen the husband' mistress can't possibly work as a couple. The truth is Gen and Mattie needed to collide to regain their sense of self to live an authentic life. A sayin says, "Between love and hate, there's only one step." There should be a second book.
I really enjoyed this one. Mattie and Gen heat up the pages in this fast-paced Sapphic romance. When Mattie catches Gen in bed with her husband she never dreams how much her life would change. Getting away to a private island she runs into Gen. One elevator ride causes sparks to fly. If you like a good F/F story this one is definitely for you.
An interesting take on enemies to lovers with the ex-wife and the woman he left her for falling in love. It was a bit short for me, I would have liked a full length with more development and romance over spice.
A lovely sapphic discovery tale of the elite. A spurned lover and the one who broke everything apart connect in a hot and spicy island getaway. Tumultuous and hot 🌶️🌶️
I really enjoyed this book. Mattie and Gen’s relationship is one of unthinkable beginnings. I loved how their love blossomed after one unforgettable encounter.
