In the Nine Kingdoms, lords and churches dance a familiar dance. A dance of wars and plots and murder.
But unknown to the players, the dance is changing. The Tainted One has returned; harbinger of a cycle of destruction as old as humankind itself. An era is on the verge of collapse, humankind is on the fringes of annihilation – but the lords and ladies, the holy men and the apostates, the great and the small; they all just keep spinning with the music.
Nihm is a young woman, living peacefully on the edges of the wilds. But as the hordes descend upon the Nine Kingdoms she finds herself at the forefront, in a race for survival. A race where truths will be revealed that will change her world. Challenging who and what she is.
Join an Epic Fantasy and follow Nihms journey as it unfolds. Can one person really change the fate of a world?
I’m a writer of epic fantasy and I love it. It means I spend a lot of time in my head (probably too much if I’m honest) not only imagining my world but living the stories.
It’s pretty cool. I get to be everything; good and evil and all those fuzzy grey in-betweens, I cast magic, die heroically, plan epic battles, mess with and experience every emotion you can imagine. Get to be moral and immoral, do stupid things for the right reason and succeed when doing the wrong thing but hey, sometimes life is like that. Right?
Oh, and I get to make up new religions, races, people and magic systems that feel natural. I map build, create a history, plant a few hidden eggs along the way and plot the inevitable twist no one saw coming.
But apart from that – it is a grind….a b&llache of teeth grinding, rehashing, reviewing, rewriting, timelining and continuity checking. I love it all.
I hope that you will try my work and even more that you enjoy it. I would love for you to leave this mundane world behind for a few hours and visit mine.

I just finished reading author A.D. Green's book One of the Morhudrim Cycle, Rivers Run Red last night. I would recommend this book to anyone searching for a new author to try. I read the Kindle version and I purchased the book off Amazon. Green produced a wide cast of characters that kept you interested. The book is fast-paced with many short chapters that keeps the story moving along at a good pace with a solid storyline. By the end of book one, I found myself hooked and ready for book two which is set to come out later this year. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.
When an ancient threat returns all turns to chaos. A. D. Green takes to a land where the ancient darkness has returned. This book is very fast paced. There is lots of action. It will grip you from the first page all the way to the last and leave you wanting more!!
Rivers Run Red tells the tale of nine Kingdoms as they appear to be hurtling towards a war of epic proportions. Though I must warn you to prepare to have your expectations overturned as this complex narrative unfolds.
Firstly, I have to commend Green for his characters: unique, complex, interesting, believable. I particularly took a shine to the character arcs of Nihm and Renco as their stories developed. When reading epic fantasy with various subplots and secondary characters, I have often felt lost in a story at first but not in Green’s book; he gives us a lot to think about without overwhelming us making Rivers Run Red an enjoyable and effortless read.
Next, I have to say the plot was truly intriguing. Just when I thought I knew where this was going, I’m suddenly diverted down another path. Green indulges us with some of the familiar conventions we have grown to love about fantasy and mixes things up with his unique take on mythology and just the slightest smattering of science fiction—so faint, it’s barely there but visible enough to make this plot stand out in the fantasy crowd.
By the end of Rivers Run Red, I was on the edge of my seat and didn’t want it to end. I feel like the fun is just beginning and I will be buying book two immediately because I am dying to know where this book is going to go next! Come on Nihm and Renco, you got this!
The book starts well and at this point I was hopeful this would be a really decent fantasy, by a quarter of the way through I wasn’t so sure. It may well just be me, but I the story didn’t excite me, it didn’t help that just as I started to engage with a character, the author jumps to a new character and situation. I much prefer to concentrate on getting to know a very small group of main characters early in a story. Having read many fantasy series over the last fifty years, perhaps I have become a bit jaded, but I’m afraid I found a lot of the first half of the book fairly boring, especially the stuff with the priests, ‘Mortin’ and ‘Zoller’. Although there were a few snippets with ‘Renco’ and his masters that were quite entertaining.
I started the book expecting to follow ‘Nihm’, but she was a very minor character until things changed about two hundred and fifty pages into the book, when the author introduced the twist that might have saved this story from being a very ordinary Fantasy. Unfortunately he still hadn’t sorted out where this was going before the end of the book. It's a pity as this nearly made me want to read the next book.
The publicity blurb says ”Great for readers who love JRR Tolkien, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan” this is definitely a bit optimistic. The blurb also mentions ”George RR Martin” and this might be a closer comparison as he also writes for dramatic effect rather than a flowing story. Unfortunately I don't particularly like ”Martin”, but I suspect people who do, will like this book.
I enjoy fantasy novels but this one is different. The Author has created an entirely different and unique world with creatures both fascinating (ilf) and barbaric (urak), and strong characters with intriguing stories to tell.
It was a compelling read, chapters are short and easy to digest. If you are looking for a new experience, this book is what you are looking for.
My final message for the author: Please hurry up with book 2! I can't wait to continue my journey with Nihm and everyone else :)
I loved this Epic fantasy, which has comparisons to Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.
I thought the characters were compelling and the family bond relatable. The plot is gripping and the multiple threads of the story pull you through at a rapid pace. It is imaginative and beautifully written. The strange creatures come to life in your head as they leap off the page. There are a great deal of lose ends by the finish, which merely compels you to read the next one. It defies fantasy writing tropes with a fascinating twist in the story.
This is a stirring fantasy epic with strong characters and a multi-layered plot. The author has created a world reminiscent of Tolkien's territory, but with more of the earthy realism found in Game of Thrones. Many fantasy fans will enjoy following Nihm and Renco as they become involved in the growing struggle against powerful and ruthless foes.
I enjoyed reading the first book in the series so much that there where numeres times, when I forgot to get off from the metro. I alsow liked the chart. Looking forward to read the next book sinces the first endet on a cliffhanger
A well written story with good, fleshed out characters. There is a lot going on throughout the story, and author manages to keep the story moving ahead smoothly. This series has the potential to become a modern day epic fantasy classic!
It is the old good versus evil struggle. At the good side stands the Order with their agents and at the other side the evil Morhurdim, the dark lord which returned to this world. The dark lord brings his hordes of urak (orks) to destroy the River kingdom and conquer the lands. And you read how the battle unfolds...
The creepiest and most enjoyable of the book were the battles. Green was not afraid to show violence and to kill characters meanwhile in their point of view. You can hardly know who will live or die. His antagonists are terrifying sailing even into horroristic territory.
The characters were alright. My favourite was Maohong and his grumpy interactions with Ranco and Hiro. Sometimes the characterisation of the guards was a bit cliche or two dimensional, but it is absolutely understandable.
The biggest problems especially with the beginning of the book were the quick change of point of view. Sometimes I was not sure whose head we were. The other one is the setting is a bit boring. We have our wood elves called here ilfs and orks (uraks) are coming in thousands from the mountains. We have the evil church and the good knights and lords. The ilfs are strange creatures with grace but killing instinct. The uraks are savage beasts with a tribal structure and kinship between them.
Altogether the book is a good read. It starts a bit slowly but then the looming darkness will let no character untouched and the world will grab you in.
This is the first book I read from this author and let me tell you that I loved it! Such a good book with great characters that keeps you obsessed with every page since the first one. The ending of this book.. come on! I just didn´t expect it! Can´t wait to read other books from this great writer! Amazing job! a must-read!. A fantastic book that has it all!
I happily endorse this story to any and all who are looking for an enjoyable read and a completely different experience than anyone could imagine on their own.
When a novel starts with ilf and urak, one can't help but immediately think elf and orc and feel it falls into traditional high fantasy. Throw in some magic users, different kingdoms and ancient battles and you feel it is a hobbit away from LoTR. Perseverance is key as some interesting ideas and story in there and away from these characters the "regular" soldiers and combatants have some good stories.

After been gently introduced to Nihm in the first chapter, the book changes quickly with some great characters and locations created in your mind by the author,
The battle scenes descriptions are gruesome, will your favorite character survive?
It was really very enjoying than expected. It's a fantasy story with amazing characters like Nihm and Renco. You'll love the thrilling journey through a magical world. It's full of excitement and surprises!
This is an epic tale with lots of twist and turns and battles. So many great characters to follow through the book. Highly recommend if you enjoy Fantasy.
