When rock star Joshua Trevant shows up at Leah's door to escape the paparazzi nightmare at his house... little does he know she caused it.
Fiber artist Leah Kelly is finally living the life of her dreams. After leaving the world of high finance, she bought a small farm and raises alpacas, llamas, and even has her own rooster. Not to mention the seven barn cats.
Living out in the boonies of Truth Harbor, she never expected to meet a rock star. But Joshua Trevant, the sexy lead singer for East Echo, knows how to make an entrance.
When news gets out that his band is splitting up, it becomes a three-ring circus. The press circle his home like vultures.
Josh and his eleven-year-old son manage to escape and wind up on Leah's doorstep desperate for help.
Andrea Simonne grew up as an army brat and discovered she had a talent for creating personas at each new school. The most memorable was a surfer chick named "Ace" who never touched a surf board in her life, but had an impressive collection of puka shell necklaces. Eventually she turned her imagination towards writing. Andrea still enjoys creating personas, though these days they occupy her books. She's an Amazon bestseller in romantic comedy and contemporary romance, and author of the series Sweet Life in Seattle and About Love. She currently makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two sons.
I cannot do a proper review of this book because it was incredibly long and I could not make myself read it all.
The bottom line of the story is that Leah once worked in the city in wearing suits and getting her nails done, and she gave it all up and bought an alpaca farm and learned to card and spin yarn. It wasn’t very lucrative, but it made her happy but her mother didn’t think happy was good enough and was always hassling Leah to sell.
A guy named Josh moved in next door and he turned out to be a rock star hiding out for a while the adoption of his young son went through. Josh and Leah fall for each other, but Josh stays celibate until the adoption goes through and Leah had a previous bad experience with a rocker.
There is so much drama in this and it dragged out forever. Unless you just need something boring and cozy to read, I would avoid this book. Yuck.
Refreshing and interesting!! I loved the farm. I loved the characters although Josh is no book boyfriend but he's loyal and intense with those he's close to and there aren't many people due to how famous he is. I love the banter the couple have. Her family is interesting. His band is interesting. I think her friend will be in the next book and I'm excited for it!!
I absolutely love finding new authors to read and I’m thinking I found a good one with Andrea Simonne, at least judging by this book. It is delightful. Leah, our heroine, owns a farm where she raises chickens, llamas and alpacas. She also grows vegetables that she’s trying to sell along with eggs at local markets. She raises the llamas for guards and alpacas for their wool. She spins and knits using it.
The book gets our attention right from the get go when Leah is out late one evening when two motorcycles plus one come roaring up to her door and one of the bearded riders starts pounding on her door. I know I’d be terrified by that and I was immediately hooked. It turns out they showed up at the wrong house and are actually at the wrong house and looking for the house next door. I was hooked.
It turns out the house they are trying to find is owned by Josh, the third motorcyclist. And it seems he’s the lead singer of a very popular band. He just recently bought the house and is planning on making the small town his home. He’s staying there with a young lad he’s trying to adopt. When Josh and Leah meet under less terrifying circumstances, they immediately form a bond. They both have a very quirky sense of humour and I absolutely love the both of them from the beginning and I was very taken with this sweet and amusing story. Both Leah and Josh are standouts as his ‘son’ Damian, his band mates, her best friends, her family and even the small town. I adore everything about this book and highly recommend it. This is the second in a three book series and I’m looking forward to reading them as well, as more books by Ms. Simonne.
I'm afraid I started getting bored and skipped a good chunk of the middle. Right from the beginning it was obvious that what she did was going to be a huge problem and I just wasn't in the mood for wasting tears over her lack of common sense. If you're looking for something angsty and with emotional pain then this would be the right book for you.
The Night, Motorcycles, Nietzsche and a Grin and a Wink
I love Andrea Simonne’s stories. This story had laugh out loud scenes, plenty of coupling, a touch of drama, and even a Sasquatch sighting…LOL
Ms. Simonne’s storytelling always sweeps me away, and her romances bring me back to my yesteryears. Nostalgia is good for the soul…
With romance stories that are likened to real life I think it makes watching the couple fall in love even better. This falling in love was ever so sweet. And, sometimes watching that lovin’ feeling grow is even more intense when you worry about the drama that’s coming. This love story had two possible drama events. I got through the first one and waiting for the other BIG shoe to drop was difficult for my old emotional heart to take. Thank goodness I trust this Author, so I just hung on tight…
Excellent Story – Excellent Writing Style – Excellent Read
I’m DNF-ing this immediately because I’m 24% in and this pissed me off so bad. I don’t even WANT to see the romance happen because the way the conflict is introduced, I literally HAAAAATE this FMC. It’s one thing for this to MISTAKENLY happen, but you went out of your way to be an integral part in CHILD ENDANGERMENT because what? This man you barely know didn’t tell you an extremely private thing about himself because LOOK WHAT HAPPENED. I’m throwing in the towel now before I waste anymore time hating this character. And I wish Josh had a sister who could go fight her ass because you’re 34 years old and this much of a childish stupid b***. I don’t even like single parent tropes but, I don’t see how if you care about kids you could get through this. That ruined the whole story for me. Any sensible person would never trust this woman again let alone DATE HER. Hall of Fame most unlikable female character I’ve ever read. I’m so angry.

This story had a little bit of everything… a great romance, witty humor and banter, a whirlwind of emotions, and a lot of twists and turns. Leah and Josh come from very different worlds, which made their story together all that much more sweeter. But their story wasn’t an easy one; both of them faced very real issues in their lives that threatened to derail what they were finding together. That’s something I love in a romance… an imperfect path to love. That’s something I think readers can relate to, something real to life.
The author creates great characters, whether main or supporting. They all feel like real people, well developed and interesting. They elicited real emotion, even those cast in the roles of “villain.” A great cast of characters and a fabulous story made for a great read!
I really wanted to like this more than I did. I loved the concept of the female main character being a fiber artist, as I am an avid spinner myself. But wasn’t impressed with the storytelling and found the characters to be very shallowly written. The basis for the conflict was also really contrived. Both main characters came off as incredibly immature for folks in their mid 30s. It was a bit of a slog to get to the end but I finished it.
There are two other books in this series but I will give them a pass. This book could have used a good editor and I expect the others books to be as hard to get through. It’s a shame, because I think the premise is good. This book just didn’t deliver for me.
DNF. The one thing I don’t like about a romance book is a character that gets turned on during a dangerous circumstance, when it is the most inappropriate reaction.
In this case a woman who lives alone is hiding in the bushes in her underwear (there’s a reason for that situation) when 3 bikers she doesn’t know come to her house late at night and pound on her door. Her reaction, instead of being frightened, is hard nipples and wet panties at the sexy sound of one of the bikers voices. I don’t find this a meet cute.
I love this series so much! The angsty part in this book happens early. You know it is going to be a nightmare when the truth comes out but you can't turn away. No spoilers but it does seem out of character for Leah. I think Joshua was fun but his reaction to Leah's decision which happened before they were even friends was frustrating. I think if he wanted to break up that would be fine but the self-destructive spiral in response to a set back needs to be addressed. I loved how their friends were so supportive of their relationship.
“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”
This book is fun. Josh, the rockstar, turns out to be a big hearted sweetie. Loyalty is important. He loves his son and bandmates and falls for the owner of the farm next door. Leah is a good character. She has some baggage and is independent and determined to make her little animal farm a success. Together they are a sweet couple. I enjoyed this book and plan to read the next in the series.
Josh & Leah story was okay but not as good as the 1st book in my opinion. Leah shouldn't have given Josh address out but Josh shouldn't have acted like a teenager again. Also I'm wondering why Josh sold his place considering it was larger then Leah and within walking distance. Leah could have moved in with Josh and still work her farm. What happens when & if they decide to have children?
I couldn't continue this book after Leah just casually gave two randos Josh's address. Like WTF??? You hear two chicks talking about your rock star neighbor and you tell them EXACTLY where to find him just because they asked...and his son lives with him? I was feeling bad for her with the crap her mom and brother were pulling. However, that made me seriously doubt her decision making abilities. DNF....
I loved the story of Josh and Leah. I cracked up a lot while reading this book. I loved the interaction of the characters. I love that she moon bathes. And I would totally buy yarn from her farm. It was also nice to see Claire and Theo in the book. I love the continuation of their friendship. I hoping Dean and Lars get their own books. Thanks Andrea!!
Honestly I had a hard time finishing the book because I knew that big secret between them was going to be big problem. I loved all the characters, people and animals, and I knew that they would find their HEA, but this was five stars worth of anxiety for me considering these were fictional characters 🙀
I read this book as a mistake. I downloaded as accident. Best mistake Ever. It was such a good read. I really like the characters and was pulled into the story right away. There was a real sweetness about the story. It leaves you with a wonderful happy feeling . I am now reading the rest of the series.
I liked it but I didn’t like Leah.. especially because she got so mad when she found out Josh was a rock star, like why is she so mad?? and then the fact that she held out so fucking long to tell him she was the one, and she only did it because she pretty much got caught
I enjoyed this book, first read from this author. Leah and Josh were different in so many ways but their differences are what fed the romance. I don't think I've ever read a book written in the style Simone used. I felt I was reading a diary with play by play scenes of the H/h lives.
The characters are well developed and believable. The story is fairly predictable, but filled with realistic reactions from the characters. I enjoyed the descriptions of the farm and the children interacting with the animals. I plan on looking for the next in the series
Dispense with reality and enjoy this fast paced story. The animal characters are delightfully amusing and story captivating enough to distract. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I enjoyed this book more than I did the previous one, which I gave up on halfway through, but I will go back to it. It was a little long winded and not much happened but I like the farm animals.
Well this book was just what needed to read. It was very entertaining. The storyline and the characters were spot on. It was a refreshing read. Going on to read Book 3.
This was such a good book from beginning to end , I hated it ending . I felt like I knew all the characters and loved them all for who they were . Loved , loved josh and Leah
This was a sweet small town romance with a rock star. I really enjoyed it. I usually like my romance a little not so fade to black when it comes to sexytimez, but the story was sweet.
Fun read in which a hot rock god and a beautiful fiber artist meet when she chases his son through the woods after finding the boy sneaking around her barn.
This is a great read. Josh and Leah have amazing chemistry. This book made me laugh out loud and cry a lot. A book that can make you do both is a great read.
