Many people have criticized me for eating sushi. I have consumed this delicate, tasty food for many years and no harm has befallen me, only joy!
Detrick, the author of this little book states, "A Japanese proverb states that if you have the pleasant experience of eating something you have not tasted before, your life will be lengthened by 75 days. One evening at a sushi bar could add years to your life."
This publication is colorful, with photos of varieties of sushi, sashimi, side dishes and Japanese art, as well. The pictures are attractive and artful, as one might expect when viewing the elegant presentations of their food. It is instructive, informing the reader of etiquette, preparation and the Japanese names for the fish and has an abbreviated list of useful Japanese words and terms.

ADDENDUM
I have kept this lovely little book on my shelves, despite a massive move from my home to smaller quarters. I again thumbed through it, reading snippets, appreciating the mouth-watering photographs and relearning some of the Japanase language terminology for different items. It is a small gem!
