A new novel in the series based on the science fiction TV series and cowritten by its star continues the story that began in Battlestar Armageddon, as Commander Apollo leads the search for a legendary planet called Earth.
Richard Lawrence Hatch was an American actor, writer, and producer best known for his role as Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979) television series, and also as Tom Zarek in the 2003 re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica. He passed away from Pancreatic Cancer on February 7, 2017.
Battlestar Galactica fans will remember the Nomen and Captain Cain. In this book a Noman becomes Apollo’s body guard; Cain is still a reckless war hawk. Other characters return, but they are older. Boxey, now called Troy has grown up; Starbuck has an adult daughter. Sheba is about to marry Apollo. The story has had so many reincarnations over the years, that I feel like I am following a beloved soap opera.
Really enjoying this series. Not as good as the first book but still a great ride. Excellent likeable characters. Great action. Looking forward to book 3
Warhawk is not as good as the first book in the series, Armageddon, but not bad. The large number of typos continues though! Commander Cain and the battlestar Pegasus returns and the Borellian Nomen Gar'Tokk vows to be Apollo's bodyguard for life; he's sort of the Chewbacca of Battlestar Galactica!
