Men love shortcuts. If there's a way to accomplish a job quicker and more efficiently, they're all for it. That goes for work and working out. Now, new research shows that as little as 15 minutes of resistance training is just as effective in spiking a man's metabolism—his fat-burning furnace—as a workout lasting more than twice as long. All it takes is 15 minutes to achieve lifelong results—and men are more likely to stick to an exercise plan if it's chopped down to those 15 minutes.
The Men's Health Big Book of 15-Minute Workouts contains fast-paced circuit training and interval workouts that boost calorie burn, build muscle, and fry belly fat in half the time of regular workouts. Readers can choose from at-home, body-weight-only workouts and total-body barbell programs to exercises that target major muscle groups—the chest, arms, legs, and back—and sport-specific workouts. Other highlights include:
- a special section of 15-minute core workouts to build a rock-hard six-pack - an eating plan with delicious meals that take 15 minutes or less to prepare - workouts for the office or when you're traveling and can't make it to the gym - hundreds of tips from America's best trainers, nutritionists, and exercise scientists
Awesome collection of fast workouts with great pictures, instructions, and information for a variety of difficulty levels and kinds of equipment. Great book for when you need some filler routines or you want to mix things up!
Very interesting and nicely written book in my opinion. Good exercises, effective and got me tired with some of them. I work out more than 15 mins, but for absolutely beginners or people that want to get back, it's very good.
I highly recommend this book. It is great to bring on a vacation because it has some workouts that can be completed if you have limited time and equipment. It is also good if you don't have time for a full workout. You can also incorporate some of these quick workouts into a longer workout for some variety or squeeze one in during the lunch break.
One side note: some of the workouts are more like 8 minutes (push-up workout) and take more like 20-30 minutes to complete (medicine ball workout), especially if you don't have the workout memorize or if some of the exercises are new.
Exercising and physical activities should be part of our lifestyle, to be healthy and fit to do your worldly work. In this busy world with hectic schedules, many face difficulties to find time for their workouts and others feel lethargic to work out after a busy day of work or in sleepless mornings. This book is a wonderful guide to such people and I have personally followed many workouts given in this book and it affected maintaining my physical fitness.
