Psychology: Perspectives and Connections, 2nd Edition

Rate this book
In psychology, not everything is black and white. "Psychology: Perspectives & Connections 2e " dares students to challenge their own assumptions, explore research and to not believe everything they think. The over-riding goal of "Psychology: Perspectives & Connections 2e " is to align what excites us as researchers and perpetual students of psychology with today's introductory psychology student. Feist and Rosenberg's aim is to help students understand that psychology, and much of the world around them, is more fascinating--and likely more intricate and interdependent-- than they think. It's not just black and white. And, with Connect Psychology and its adaptive learning system, students can better understand what they know and master what they don't know. Connect with science. Connect with students. Connect with Feist and Rosenberg's "Psychology 2e."

This second edition is a little outdate, but still has most of the requisite information needed as an introduction to psychology. The downside of this edition is:
Lack of update to DSM V information (it still has DSM IV-TR info).
The upside is:
Multiple "Psychology in the real world" articles within chapters.
Challenge you Assumptions sections appearing before chapters.
At the end of each chapter they connect what you have learned with where you are going. By bringing it all together, it allows the reader to look how everything is connected.
Covers the research process involved with psychology.
Connect the research process to real life example throughout.
Overall, a fascinating read, and a wonderful starter book that should interest anyone in the field of Psychology.

Defiantly one of the better psychology text books. Enjoyed it a great deal although I find it funny they discuss phobias and show pictures of mine.
