Super villains and evil doers beware! Soon my Superhero Handbook will be in the hands of all part-time, temporary and trainee superheroes. This handbook will train all budding superheroes in the arts and ways of a true superhero. Watch out for super updates! I am extremely fortunate to have entered the world of writing for children. Originally, I started by writing wacky geography and science-based books, but have more recently moved into the world of fiction, and I especially want to help kids survive the impending zombie apocalypse! and train them in the ways of a superhero...Good Luck!
This book is a part of a large series of books by Reader’s Digest. You can see all of the books below.
This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to either learn the basics of geography or relearn the basics. I loved geography as a kid and I still do. I enjoyed reading about mountains, volcanoes, biomes, oceans, earthquakes, atomosphere, reading maps, islands, continents and more.
The book is full of maps and drawings that make reading fun. The inside of the book has a spot to write names if you are gifting this book to someone. If a child/teen age 8+ you know loves geography, this would be a great gift.
However I certainly think adults can read it too. I did.
I Wish I Knew That: Geography: Cool Stuff You Need to Know (Hardcover) by James Doyle i wish it was more detailed on some of the information. I was planning to use the information as a way to teach students more about geography.
Too heavy on the climate change stuff. Good quick read for anyone who wants it easlily explained the different terminology in earth sciences such as what makes a sea as oppose to an ocean or how big does an island need to be to be a content and stuff like that. Or if you are a trivia buff and want to know biggest, smallest, tallest of earth features.
I've always been fascinated by maps and stuffs. Plus, geography was my favourite subject when I was in my secondary school. Although this book is for young readers, but I guess it contains lots of informations and fascinating facts that will definitely make you amazed.
