As a Guardian, Briet has a unique superpower to help in her quest to find her mate in order to reproduce and help replenish and heal human souls. Briet's superpower is her ability to see to the molecular level without the need for any machines. She uses this power by participating in medical trials searching to cure cancer in children. In her latest trial she works closely with Jason, the company's representative. When she starts questioning her findings, will she be able to trust Jason to help her survive and figure out what is going on?

This story is really about Briet and Jason. The "bad guy" is there, but mostly in the background. He is referred to, but doesn't actually appear in any scene. This was an interesting way to continue with the series while still focusing on one particular member of the Guardians.

Since the book was mainly about the relationship, character developed was extremely important. Both Briet and Jason were interesting, fully developed characters. Briet is so spunky and energetic. Jason is a good counterpoint to her.

Briet's brother Ansgar played a very visual supporting role. He is the stereotypical overprotective big brother, but is still very loveable. I sincerely hope that he gets his own book in the series soon. I'd love to meet the woman who steals his heart. She would have to be very strong and simply amazing.

Overall, this book is more romance that action, but is a great continuation in the series. I can't wait for the next installment. Just a caution that this is intended for adult readers as there are a few very steamy sex scenes.

My Rating: 4.25/5 stars!

I have such a soft spot for paranormal books that involve the topic of soul mates. It was actually Christine Feehan’s Carpathian series that started my love for paranormal romance. Her Carpathian series is very big about lifemates and finding one’s other half. The Guardians of Eden series reminds me of the Carpathians but only in the soul mate aspect of the stories. KH LeMoyne’s Guardians are very different from the Carpathians. I might have even enjoyed the Guardians and their unique characteristics a little bit more than my beloved Carpathians. I’ll have to read more of the series to make a conclusive decision but I’m really looking forward to more of LeMoyen’s writing and her Guardians.

Warrior Reborn is the second in the Guardian of Eden series and is fine to start if you haven’t read the first book, even for those like me who anally like to read things in order. Briet is a very compassionate female lead. She cares so much for the children she works with as a doctor in the human world. Her unique Guardian ability to see the human body at the molecular level helps in her current work in a new drug trial in treating cancer. I knew from the very beginning when she started questioning her findings that it was going to cause trouble for her.

Jason more or less manages the drug trial for the pharmaceutical company. Briet realizes very early on that he is her mate and struggles with how to let Jason know. Jason’s past and his personality make Briet hesitate on whether he’ll be able to accept the reality of the Guardians. I thought it admirable that Briet was willing to sacrifice so much for Jason. And watching Jason slowly come to terms with his feelings towards Briet was very satisfying.

Ansgar, who is a Guardian himself, is Briet’s very overprotective brother but his actions are both understandable and sometimes warranted. Although Briet is very independent she can be forgetful and somewhat reckless at times. Ansgar is a very nice contrast to Briet’s personality and the obvious love between the two is a nice addition to Briet’s story. I’m actually really looking forward to Ansgar’s story…whenever that may come around =)

Warrior Reborn was a great surprise of a read. While the writing wasn’t always spot on for me I found the style, characters, and storyline very enjoyable. I think I’m really going to like The Guardian of Eden series. I’ll be going back to read Turen (the newly proclaimed leader of the Guardians) story and I can’t wait to read Tsu’s story which should be book 3. I can see a lot of people coming to really like the unique aspects of KH LeMoyne’s Guardians. I know I certainly do!

4/5; 4 stars; A-

This was a great modern fantasy love story. I liked the concept introduced with the Guardian race and enjoyed the pacing of the relationship development between Briet and Jason. I thought the world building in this story continued to grow and strengthen.

We meet Briet and her brother, Ansgar and learn they are guardians. Then Briet goes to her job as a doctor in testing new drugs on children with cancer, and we are inundated with medical terminology. I forgot I was reading a paranormal romance, and felt like I was trying to understand a medical drama on TV. This was really distracting for me throughout the book. Maybe because it just didn’t interest me? I just felt like we could learn about the trials and her work without all the super-technical speak.

In the first few chapters, we meet so many people - doctors, nurses, the people from the drug company, the kids being tested - it’s hard to keep everyone straight. So I just focused on the main players. This drug testing is where Briet meets Jason, and their interactions are deliciously tense, because she senses he is her mate, but she doesn’t want him to be. Yet, there is an attraction there she tries to fight. Jason also feels drawn to her and has no idea why. I like the tense scenes between them, which are all building up to something explosive, I can just tell.

I enjoyed how Briet slowly gets under Jason’s skin, yet he clings to his bachelor rules. He is not the white picket fence and 2.5 kids kind of guy, and he lets her know up front. She had this preconceived fantasy of what it would be like to find her mate, and now that she has found hers, she is disappointed. Call me crazy, but I like it when the relationship isn’t easy and instant happy-ever-after. The build-up for their relationship was awesome. And when they finally came together - Yum!!

I really liked the world that was built, and I think I will go back and read the first book, so I can get to know a little more about this world. The idea is so fresh and unique, I want to explore it more.

One nit-picky thing that I notice with almost every book I read is all the typos - there were several typos, grammar mistakes, spelling errors, name changes, misplaced commas… There were even sentences where words were missing. All it needs is a good once-over with a fine-tooth proofreading comb, and it would be great!

I enjoyed the action, the romance, and the writing was great, there were vivid descriptions, good dialogue, and we really get to know the characters. I sympathized with Briet and Jason, and I wanted them to work it out. The medical conversations and details get to be too much, and I found myself halfway skimming over the explanations, but the love story and the intrigue combined to make a fabulous story. I would rate the book a 3.5 out of 5, because I’m just not into all the scientific detail, but it was an enjoyable read. Heat factor - 3.5 out of 5, also. Sex scenes were hot. :)

Although LeMoyne picks up the storyline from the first novel in this series, she weaves it into a completely new tale that you cannot put down. LeMoyne continues with the same unique writing style that suits her storytelling so well. Her descriptions remain phenomenal and you cannot help but picture each and every scene that she lays before you. You end up walking through the world that she creates rather than reading about it.

I enjoy the fact that the bulk of the characters in this novel are really and truly good people. They go out of their way to help other people and to be true to themselves. They are very well developed individuals to boot. Although they are further developed in this novel, they are also consistent with the characters developed in the first novel in the series. Each character is developed on its own, with its own merits and character flaws. That’s right, no one is perfect, they’re just real and quite unique. The variability and versatility of these characters leads to a very interesting read. You can also see and feel real family interactions between the characters. They prove the old adage that family is more than just blood.

I greatly appreciate the time and detail that has gone in to developing the concept of mates, without sacrificing the flow and pace of the story itself. I like that the mated couples have the same issues that real couple have, with a few added ones based on their powers and lives. Life isn’t perfect just because they have mated. They still have to make it work. They are true couples in all senses of the word, not just two people who magically become perfect and develop perfect lives simply because they met.

LeMoyne manages to pull you so deeply into her novels that you don’t ever want to get back out. I fell in love right along with Briet in this novel. I can’t wait to dive back into this world along with everyone!

Please note that I received this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Briet and Jason

With the Shifters Unlimited and Guardians of Eden series, KH LeMoyne has become one of my new favorite authors. She writes standalone books I don't want to put down filled with strong, likable characters, an engaging overarching storyline, and HEAs for the featured characters who then have supporting roles in successive books. She provides adequate foundations to the plot to make it realistic, even when it's fantasy. For me, the only drawback to her writing style is that plot questions are left unanswered. But it also appears at least some answers may be slowly doled out as the series progresses. Whatever the case, I am left more than satisfied with the results and eager to get into the next book in the respective series.
In Warrior Reborn, Dr. Briet Hyden, introduced in book one, is working outside Sanctum for Welson, a pharmaceutical company conducting a clinical trial for a new drug for pediatric cancer patients. Because of Briet's Guardian talent of being able to see at a molecular level, she notices abnormalities in the blood work of her patients. She begins to run additional tests, which brings her to the attention of Welson and a more sinister antagonist who is working against the Guardians, and Briet in particular.
Jason Ballard is the experienced and much sought after project manager for the trial. He notices Briet's compassion for her patients and rapport with other doctors and the nurses. But beyond that, the man who doesn't get involved long term finds himself inexplicably drawn to the the petite woman in the smallest shitkickers he's ever seen. Then he suddenly finds himself in the role of protector when Briet is targeted in seemingly random attacks, but is reluctant to fully commit until he realizes the seriousness of the assault on Briet and the implications of the abnormalities in the clinical trials. But will he be in time?

When I first read this blurb, I thought this was just up my alley though I hadn't realized this was the second book in this series until after I signed up for this tour. I became worried will I understand the back story for the guardians and though I was a bit confused at times , I found this book an enjoyable read.

First of all I love the unigue names of the characters. I always wonder how and where a author comes up with their characters names. Though her male lead character has a ordinary name, the female character is unique, Briet as well as her fellow guardians, one being her brother,Ansgar (who I hope has his own book in the future) I really liked him in fact I think he was one of my favorite characters, though overly protective at times and to Briet very irritating.

Briet, a guardian who uses her powers to help terminally ill children who finds her mate while working together on a drug to help these children. What I loved about Briet, was even though she knew her destiny she still made sure her independence shown through.

Jason, who is the typical playboy finds himself drawn to this doctor and I love how even though he struggled with his demons he came to realize just how much Briet meant to him.

Overall I did enjoy this book very much, in fact I want to go back and read the first book to read Mia and Turen and see if it would answer some of the questions I had with this book. Would I recommend yes, if you are looking for an unique tale of supernatural beings this one is for you.

Warrior Reborn (The Guardians of Eden #2)

I received this book for free, in exchange for a review.

Now, the story moves onto Briet, one of the female members, of the Guardian race. While all of the other women were in cryo, Briet was on the outside, trying to learn and make a difference. The arena that she works in is the medical field and she is highly regarded, though not a permanent member, at any particular place. When the opportunity comes along, to be in a testing group, for a new drug comes along, she is of course involved. It's a testing for children, who have cancer and this is the one thing in life she is set on helping. But, along the way, she does find her mate, in the most unexpected of areas, the coordinator, for the company performing the testing. Jason has his dark past, but he sees Briet for a shining light.

'She refused to break down the walls he'd erected against the fear he carries, a fear reinforced through harsh years. Fears convincing him that he had the potential to abuse and destroy those he loved. She refused to manipulate him for her own benefit, or those needs of her people, no matter the cost. No matter what their fate, he deserved her support, that and her love were the two things she could give him in abundance.'

I think this story may be even better than the first one! It subject matter was very interesting and was very personal. Again, good character development and very easy read. Can't wait to start the next one!

In “Warrior Reborn” Book 2 of the Guardians of Eden, we meet Briet again. She has successfully hidden her abilities from humans for two hundred years, and now quietly uses her gifts of cellular-level vision to help patients. She specializes in curing children of cancer. But she’s in a quandary, she’s a doctor managing children in a trial of a new drug. But something’s wrong, something she can see that even the most sophisticated microscope can’t find. The drug is changing the children’s DNA, and killing others.

Enter Jason Ballard. Jason manages the drug trial Briet’s patients’ are in. The minute they meet, Jason is drawn to Briet. She breaks down the walls around his heart. As they bond, he begins to develop his own abilities and gain Briet’s gift of seeing at the cellular level.

Together they will survive, help the patients in the trial, and maybe free Briet’s people. However, they’re up against a foe, the same villain who escaped in book 1.

Ms. LeMoyne once again drew me into her world. I wept at the pain of the children. I gasped in fear Briet and Jason wouldn’t survive, I snickered at Briet’s brother and am awaiting his book along with all the other guardians I’ve meet.

Ms. LeMoyne, you have a fan who is eagerly awaiting your next book be it in the Guardians of Eden Series or your Portal of Destiny series. I pray I won’t have to wait too long for my next fix.

I read this book on the heels of the first one, immediately downloading it before I even turned my Kindle Fire off at the close of the last book. I got sucked into the first novel, and immediately found myself wanting more. I was not disappointed with the second in the series.

Once again the author did a great job of bringing in the paranormal aspects to make them almost seem real. While there was not a lot of paranormal to the first half of the book, I felt the author did a great job of building Briet and Jason's characters up to show just how strong they were as individuals. Putting them together at the end showed a couple just as strong as Mia and Turen were in book 1.

There is quite a bit of medical reference in this book, but the author did a good job of giving you what you needed and not over whelming you in details most people would not understand. Most explination went into the history of The Guardians, and slowly we are learning more about thier history and the true meaning of their lives. The romance between Briet and Jason was smooth and comfortable and I enjoyed getting to know them and seeing their relationship grow.

My only complaint in this book was that I got so wrapped up in it - I finished it too quick and the third book is not out yet. I know that when it is released, it will the first on my To Be Read pile.

I received Warrior Reborn from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Warrior Reborn is the second book in the Guardians of Eden series and....I'm done. I found the first book a little hard to read and while this one was a little easier I didn't like anywhere as much. In fact for most of it I was more than a little bored. The medical jargon...oi!

We met Briet in the previous book and she is a doctor working with children who have cancer doing a drug test. Jason is the company man on said drug test and the hospital is where he and Briet meet and she realizes he is her mate. She tries to figure out how to bring him into her world. Jason is pretty much a typical type A corporate type; driven, single and drives fast cars.

The romance between Briet and Jason was ok at least it wasn't insta love. Again we were inundated with so many characters it was hard to determine who was who and most weren't even necessary to the story. We had the same bad guy as in the first book, but this time he wreaked havoc from afar so it was disappointing he didn't get any page time. Xavier who played such a big part in the first book was completely absent in this one which left no resolution for his character. And still I have no idea what Guardians and their children have to do with souls. So the Guardians and I have reached the end of the road.

My thoughts:
I was thrilled with this second book in the Guardians of Eden series.
The author has once again given us those wonderful characters.
This is Briet and Jason's story. Briet divides her time between the Guardian's Sanctum and the human world. She is a doctor and is dedicated to saving children. Jason works for the company bringing the study to Briet's hospital. They make an incredible team.

KH LeMoyne has created a world filled with characters that are so bigger than life that you find yourself pondering your own purpose, beliefs and behavior. They are insightful, honorable, courageous, steadfast, dedicated and sexy.
Her storytelling is remarkable. The story flows fast, yet smooth as if the pages almost turn themselves. The plot is clever, creative and engaging.
The whole story is fantastic, with all the elements pulling together to bring the reader to a wonderfully satisfying ending.
I fell in love with the characters in book one, continue to love them here in book two and can hardly wait for the rest of the series! I hope there is a book in the series for each and every one of them!
If you love paranormal and are looking for a break from shifters, vampires and angels - look no further! This is the read for you!

Warrior Reborn K.H. Lemoyne

I am really enjoying this series so far and can't wait to read #3. Love the characters and the story line.

Briet is a female Guardian of Eden. She was out in the human world trying to make a difference while the other female guardians were in a cryo sleep. She has been hiding her abilities and working in the medical field. A cancer trial for children comes up and she wants in. She meets Jason Ballard. He is her mate. Jason works for the company holding the drug trial. He has some issues of his own, but can't seem to stay away from Briet. He ends up finding excuses just to see her.

I love that they are fighting to stay away from each other but can't. Someone is after Briet but why? They end up fighting together to protect the children of the trial. Lots of twists and turns and romance. The relationship is different from the first story and Briet thinks so too.

I recommend this series and this story. I really liked it. It keeps you wanting to read more and I found myself asleep with my nook.

Book 2 of The Guardians of Eden are a race of beings that were created along side humans after they were cast out of Eden. They were created not to be more powerful than humans but to live in the covenant of God to help "release and heal souls unto mankind". These beings are empowered with specific skills to guide humans. As thanks, God has gifted each of them with one mate to share in the covenant for all eternity.

This book is about Briet, healer Guardian who is a doctor overseeing the testing of new drug on cancer patient children. Jason Ballard, works for the company that brought in the drug. Briet realizes Jason is her mate. There are a lot of medical jargon that is so natural as to think the author is a doctor as well. Briet and Jason are much more steamy and intense than the first book. People are out to kill Briet which brings Jason to Sanctum so he could save her life. Jason becomes anointed by fire to the ways of the Guardians and their covenant. They come together and learn their new powers and strengths. Jason is no more committed to Briet than Turren is to Mia just in a different way.

Another winner! One word to describe this story: INTENSEk

I was eager to read what happens next to the characters afer the first book. I have wondered about whom story will tell this time. I had few guesses but I hadn't guess it right. I was pleasantly surprised about it. Now I wonder why I haven't thought about this one character.

This book was different than the first one. At first it was more like a romantic story but it got more and more intense with each chapter and eventually I was sitting on the edge of my seat. It was a wonderful sequel for a wonderful first book. It was different, had it's own taste and I liked it a lot. There were new secrets coming out and new dangers to be defeated. But at the same time there were relationships forming and feelings evolving. And all of this was nicely put together creating interesting and involving story.

I loved reading this book and meeting all these characters I have grown fond of again. And I want to read more of it. Now I'm guessing what will happen next in the story.

I was given this book in exchange for honest review (Lovers of Paranormal).

The second in the Guardians of Eden Series, Warrior Reborn continues the story of the Guardians journey to follow their covenant. Briet, a Guardian uses her powers of healing to help the human race. As part of a team charged with a trial of an experimental drug, she uses her powers to protect her patients.
Jason is the administrator on site for the project. While he’s a black and white kind of guy, he soon finds that Briet adds all the color in life that he needs, but doesn’t want.
Their journey together provides opportunities to feel their growing pains. They have stumbled upon more than just a trial of a drug. Their paths cross with an old nemesis that keeps them spinning.
This is the second of the Guardians of Eden series. It is tightly written and had me reading until the wee hours of the morning. I didn’t want to put the book down. With its completion, I know book three, Destiny’s Mark is going to be my next read.

This is the second book of the Guardians of Eden Series. I want more of the series, but I'm out of luck because I started with book three. I loved it. Warrior Reborn is a story with action, science, superheroes and loads of romance- four of my favorite things in a book.

I think Ms. LeMoyne’s writing is fabulous. As in my other reviews I have to mention how dynamic she is with her ability to set a scene in the mind's eye.

Spunky Briet and methodical Jason made a wonderful power couple. Both of them had to overcome their own issues about the relationship before they could allow their destinies to unfold.

Although it is a series book, it reads as a standalone, giving little snippets of what happened in the previous book. Very well done.

Just thinking about the books makes me smile. Wonderful.

Now if I could only get her to write stories about the other Guardian team members.

Warrior Reborn
The Guardians of Eden #2

After reading book one of the series, I couldn’t wait to start reading this book and I was far from disappointed, if anything I fell in love with the series more. Incredibly well written, the reader is allowed to get to know the characters, and see how the relationship develops rather than jump straight into love at first sight. Both Briet and Jason are strong characters, used to being independent but soon learn working together gets better results. When Briet is poisoned the depth of Jason’s feelings shine through, leaving the reader breathless. All of the Guardians are special in their own way, and I would happily read each of their stories separately.

Warrior Reborn drew me in with its driven and compassionate female protagonist. Briet carries both the story and the weight of her world like a champion, and though at times she feels awkward and strange in a world far too human for her, she steps up to the cause and sets the world right.

The plot is mysterious and magical with a passionate and exciting romantic edge. LeMoyne's cast of characters are solid and believable despite their otherworldly origins, and I found myself wanting to know more about the Guardians and their tragic history.

Each book in this series introduces a new protagonist backed by familiar friends and family. I am definitely looking forward to returning to visit the Guardians of Eden as LeMoyne expands this universe and the stories within it.

2nd in the Guardians of Eden

this book tells of Briet, a 200odd yr old doctor who can see what the problem is with her patients...i mean REALLY SEE!! and Jason, the project manager for a drug trial at the hospital Briet works.

something isnt quite right with the trials, and and the discovery of this puts Briet and Jason in danger.

this follows them as they discover what and WHO is behind the trials and who is trying to kill them both, their developing relationship and Jason's resistance to happy-ever-after. he soon learns!

very descriptive medical stuff in this one, but its all explained so beautifully. the scenes with Briet and Jason LOOKING at the bllod results are amazing, and i read them a couple of times!

3rd one next up :-)

Second in the series is a good follow-on. Another good tale! Following the female Guardian, Briet, delivered on the distaff side of the brotherhood, but each of the books seems to deliver the most perspective from the ‘new mate’, in this case Jason Ballard. We get to see these other beings through his eyes as he learns and adapts. Again the romance is well paced with the main mystery in the story, though all is not wrapped up with the Guardian problems in the end of this book #2. I went on to read both book 2 and 3 in a long weekend and enjoyed seeing how the Guardians are evolving in this series.

I thoughly enjoyed reading the second book in the series, much more than the first. The first book didn't start to get interesting for me until about 40% through, and I was lucky to finish it. This one had me hooked from the start. I think having all the background information about the Guardians from the first book added to the enjoyment of this one. I enjoyed Briet and Jason and watching their relationship evolve and seeing how they developed their skills together. As with the first book there were some hot sexual scenes. This one was a definite 4 stars!

WOW.....I'm loving it!

Briet is determine to save the kids in trail testing program.
She is sure after a little girl dies that something is wrong.

Jason Ballard only wants a date and to do his job, until someone tries to kill Briet, then he's out for blood.

This story is filled with compassion, love and action I am adding it to my Fav list.

This is a keeper......

Second book in the Guardians of Eden's series by LeMoyne and I can not wait to read more. Briet and Jason are great characters and really liked this story line.

Still can't wait to hear Grimm's story ;)

Great job LeMoyne and thank you.
