Over 520 beautiful color photographs display the fine quality, distinctive, handmade, modern glassware produced by the Viking Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia, from 1944 to 1970. Viking animals, baskets, candelabras, novelties, smoking items, tablewares, and vases are shown in various patterns, cuttings, etchings, and other decorations, including Banford, Burlap, Crackle, Encore, Meadow Wreath, Three Foils, and Viking Star. Thorough listings of the Viking product lines, from Ancestral to Tundra, are accompanied by a company history, an extensive bibliography, index, and current market values. This book is a must for everyone with an appreciation for fine quality glassware.

Checked this out from the library last year, but didn't really read-read it. Mostly just drooled over the pictures. Was out of print, but seen in my glass-collecting (yes, yes, my recent-ish obsession during my long absence/hiatus from reading so much as previous years... idk why, but yea, took a long, long, multi-year break from books and got into vintage glass instead... idk... everyone needs an addiction, and guess mine shifted to shiny shit as I got old! Blame it on my grandmas and their love of glass, and then I inherited their shinies, and booooooom!!! Here I am with a house full to the ceiling and in every corner loaded with glass (thank the glass gods my cat is super-well behaved around it all (like, amazingly so) and trained to my interior design arrangements, lmao) and an insatiable obsession with obtaining more! Oh? Am I rambling? My bad...) anyway, yea! Seen this was getting a highly-demanded reissue up for pre-order now, so yay! Finally get my chance at this one!! :D
