I'm obsessed with Michelangelo and have read pretty much everything there is out there to read about him -- but I did enjoy this rendition. I didn't learn anything NEW (like I said, I've read a LOT), but I did enjoy the construction, basing Michelangelo's life around the three most important father figures: Il Magnifico Lorenzo de Medici; the artist's father Ludovico Buonarroti; and Pope Julius II. If you're a Michelangelo fan, it's worth a read, but also, if you're relatively new to the artist, I think this is a great way to enter into his life...
