Overall not a bad book, but the authors comments add very little, if anything at all.

Stoa felsefesi konusunda kendini tekrarlamayan bir kitap bulmak zor, hemen hemen her ogretinin ciktigi 1 ya da ana 2 yol var cunku ve bu yollara giderken ayni manzaralar tekrarlanip duruyor cogu eserde. Bu kitap ayni ana yollara ciksa dahi ara yollarda farkli bakis acilari sunabilen bir kitap. Ingilizce versiyonunu okumama ragmen dili cok agir gelmedi.

A man must be known as soon as possible, even his limited remarks are life changing and despite the fact that it was not expected to have such clear points on the mark from a man who lived in those periods,I have found Epictetus very wise when it comes to find God and this makes him a person with great wisdom. Most criticised the author for her comments which are following the lines of Epictetus but I always loved to be informed, illuminated or given trivias by those who put effort to publish it.

Really good insights into life by Epictetus. I took many notes and will keep on studying them. Epictetus is a great teacher, although I don’t agree with his views on god, the rest is still very thought provoking and enlightening. The authors commentary was unnecessary to me, I wish it was only the translation.

Mixed it with Epicurusm, which is contradictionary to every sense to Epictitus.

The book reads fast and gives very nicely the general idea but Epictitus is not my kind of philosopher, a overly-determinist religious ascetic.

Good book though.
