Divine Creek Ranch #4

Rosemary's Double Delight

Rate this book
[Siren Menage Erotic Cowboy Menage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, spanking, sex toys] Rosemary is a firecracker, the one who completes them. Wes and Evan have loved this fierce little ebony-haired beauty since kindergarten, even when she's being a spoiled-rotten brat. The brothers still adore Rosemary now that she's a woman, but Evan has issues. Her mouth gets her in trouble, Evan's temper gets him in trouble, and even tempered Wes is always caught in the middle. Rosemary won't tolerate Evan's controlling ways, especially when he threatens to spank her. Why can't Rosemary just do as Evan tells her, especially when it's for her own good? Wes spends his time making peace, when he'd rather make love. They bring out the worst in each other, and hurt Wes in the process. She won't give up because they're also magical together, when they manage to get along! Add in a hot spanking, a fit of temper, and something's gonna have to give. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.

When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Heather invites readers to e-mail her at heather.rainier@yahoo.com and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com

This was my first exposure to a Divine Ranch novel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a cute, sexy story--until it tried to veer into DD (domestic discipline--spanking the female to punish her, not for fun), and then Ms. Rainier lost me. Rosemary is not even living with the two guys yet or married to them, and they really didn't talk about the idea except for a couple of times when the "dom-like" one, Evan, threatened to spank her for doing something he didn't like. And that's what offended me. Meanwhile, Evan has been domineering and controlling, full of apologies for his (many!) stupid actions--yet he never receives corporal punishment for any of them. Hey, I get the hot factor of erotic spanking and find it can be arousing in that context. But I don't like the idea of it being used as punishment for whatever arbitrary transgression she has committed in Evan's eyes. It's a sexist double standard that I do not appreciate. I find it strange that none of the other reviewers here mentioned this issue. Am I the only one who was bothered by it? A couple of the reviewers write about how much of a brat they think Rosemary is, yet make no mention of how controlling and ridiculous Evan is at times. Folks, THAT is a double standard. So now I'm in a quandary about how many stars to give this. Because I liked parts of it but the DD crap pissed me off.

Frankly this book made me angry, for many reasons and not least of all it's apparent acceptance that domestic violence ( and make no mistake disciplinary, or as it's phrased in the book chastisement spanking is domestic violence) is a necessary part of relationship and the woman must see to it that she does not make necessary for her man, or men, to spank her. It had such potential and I love the childhood friendship to romance novels. Not only is the spanking given for the flimsiest of reasons ( not that there is any reason that stands up) and both the heroes and the heroine feel a momentary twinge of, I don't know, disconcertment perhaps, it's then glossed over with the heroine having the understanding that she should not provoke another...
I had hope the moronic Evan's initial threat when she was oh god forbid, up a ladder at her work, doing her job, was some foreshadowing of some erotic spanking play, the mention was to initiate the heroines internal monologue initial spark of interest with the idea, I kept reading despite finding it quite unsettling and hoping it wouldn't fulfil my fears, alas it did.
Now don't get me wrong I'm all for erotic spanking if that's what floats your boat, but the idea that a woman is so stupid and unreasonable that she need chastising from her oh so much smarter and wise men to stop her from risking her own well being. That she such a child that she needs this, even if her men are more childish and have done and continue to do utterly moronic shit even stuffing up the spanking itself, because they had a chat to some other guys and didn't follow their oh so wise guidelines.... Ms Rainier I am still on the fence as to whether or not I'll read the other books in the series.

I liked this story, just not quite as much as the previous ones in the series. There wasn't any action or suspense to it... purely relationship stuff. Not much actual interaction with characters in the previous stories. This story runs concurrently with the one about Rachel, because it mentions her car wreck.

Rosemary Piper knew from a young age that she would marry Wes and Evan, never doubting for a moment that they were soul mates. The only hitch in her plan is the radioactive arguments with Evan which leaves them both saying and doing things they don't mean, putting Wes in the uncomfortable position of being stuck in the middle. If their relationship is going to work, they are going to have to learn to accept each other for better or worse.

I thought this was pretty good, it dragged a bit though in the pacing.

I liked the book but wasn't as invested into character as I was with the books before.
Really struggled with the spanking punishment side of the threesome. I'm all for erotic spanking etc but it was really weird. Even the brothers felt bad about it. Wasn't sexy or erotic in end.

Evan Rosemary and Wes finally find their way to each other in this tantalizing story. She has known them since childhood and has been in love with them for a while. It is a great story filled with a lot of romantic entanglements that are steamy.

at least this one lets you know about the spanking. But still. Women are not children to be disciplined and anyone that is into that has some issues. Ugh.

Is it possible to go home again...even if you never left? How about rolling the clock back a few years and undoing the biggest mistake of your life? If it could be done the possibilities would be endless.

Rosemary and the Garner brothers, Wade and Evan, grew up together, went through school together and have loved each other for their entire lives. Rosemary's plans to maintain her innocence and make them a family when they were finished with school is only an arm’s length away but Evan just cannot wait anymore. He makes the biggest mistake of his life, disappointing Rosemary and Wade not to mention how much he is kicking himself. They say time heals all wounds and maybe enough time has passed for this trio to make that final leap and set their lifelong path.

Rosemary is faced with all the pros and cons of living an alternative lifestyle in a small town, as well as running into narrow minded beliefs in other places too! But the support of her two men makes it all worthwhile. Their relationship is dedicated, fun and totally steaming hot. It shows never to underestimate the power of a determined woman. Rosemary is bound and determined to have the life she has always dreamed of even in the face of some really dumb moves by the men she loves.

Rosemary's story is the 4th installment of the Divine Creek Ranch Saga. Though the story includes past characters and blends them in seamlessly, it stands alone quite well. What an interesting and exciting place to live. Heather Rainier brings to life the ups and downs, good and bad, expected and unexpected and love and tolerance for any type of relationship.

This is such a fun story to be a part of and experience the trials and tribulations of living with not just one man but two. Grab a copy of this, sit back, turn on the fan and enjoy!

This is my least favorite of all Divine Creek books and it had such wonderful possibilities.

While I really enjoyed the flashbacks in the book that showed how their love had progressed from childhood, the relatonship dynamics were all over the place.

Rosemary could have been a strong independent woman, but instead came off as a childish, emotion driven, crazy woman who had no control over her impulses. Wes was supposed to be the peacemaker; however, he just came off as very weak and pathetic to me. The most frustrating character for me though was Evan. Evan was stuck in this wierd limbo between being the aggresive, assertive, dominate that would have been soooooo sexy, and the sensitive pushover that felt the need to apologize to Ms. Bratty all the time. I wish that Evan had just said we are doing it my way shut up and deal with it woman. Plus if ever a woman needed a strong hand on the reins, Rosemary would be that woman. Thank goodness they tried to teach her something with that spanking. I only wish they hadn't gotten all appoligetic afterwards. I doubt she learned anything.

Overall, this book was just mediocre and not nearly as good as the other books in this series.

4 out of 5. A continuation of the series highlighting characters that first made their appearance in previous novels in this series. Ms Rainier has populated her stories with characters that are complex, complicated and real, just like the people we all know. These three lovers have been knocking up against each other for years, their relationship embracing both the positive and negative that long friendships entail. They have disappointed each other and even now, their egos, independent natures, and sometimes unwillingness to compromise make problems. There are some immature moments when jeolousy born of immaturity and lack of grown-up communication and realistic honesty put their future in jeopardy. This is not really the strongest in this series, but I think the author sought to deal with some relational complexities that complicate all romantic relationships. That is not always easy stuff about which to write. I found this to be an interesting read and I also appreciate that Ms Rainier has not skimped on the length of her stories, making sure that her readers have maximum opportunity to get to know these characters well.

What an absolutely delightful tale Ms. Rainier has written. The complications, past problems, and real life issues that arise due to the struggles with a three-way relationship just adds to this emotional novel. One of the things I love best about this book is the fact that the three main characters are continuously working to make their relationship work and it is not just some random sexy story where there are no issues. Rosemary’s Double Delight does have hot and sexy eroticism contained in the pages, but it is not from the get-go. There is enough foreplay before the actual sex comes about that, as a reader, you are already tingling all over just waiting to see what erogenous area these sensational boys will hit next. I could not have asked for a more sensational novel than when I opened this one and you will be 100% satisfied with your purchase of this beautiful tale.

This is the opposite of the previous books because Rosemary and Evan are in constant conflict, like oil and water.

I just liked that they knew and loved each other since they were kids. The argument is usually from their tempers where they speak without thinking, then regret what they said.

Evan has wasted a lot of years because of breaking a promise. All bets were off when he hooked up with Rita, the woman whom he'd divorce. There's a lot of bitterness between Evan and Rosemary because she went to Wes for her first time , just the two of them and he forgot to lock the door. He didn't regret the moment shared with her and he's not sorry about it, just sorry that Evan got to see the afterglow.

Evan and Wes Garner are brothers who specialize in custom furniture, they're the ones who made Grace and her men's bed.

This story has a lot of flashbacks which helped, and sex scenes were still hot. I didn't like it that much because I felt that they needed to talk more, like heart-to-heart. Again, the three of them had to put up with righteous hypocrites who judge them and their relationship. They did good though.

I would have liked this one better had Evan not been an ass. I thought what he did to Rosemary and Wes in college was a crappy move, even worse was what he said after he let Rosemary know that she wasn't worth waiting for. With those actions and later I'm surprised that there was any way that the relationship could have a second chance. It seemed like when they all decided to give things a try again Evan kept treating Rosemary like a kid, which it turned brought out her bitchy side, leaving Wes in the middle. I really didn't think they could get past things.

It was nice when they did. Their trip for the convention seemed to be turning point for them. I thought the erotic book convention was funny, loved that authors wanted to talk to them for a real life examples.

What really kept me reading was the flashbacks to these 3 as kids. They were so cute, so innocent, and so certain that things would work out. Good thing it finally did.

Woah!! What a story, Heather!! Rosemary knows exactly what she's getting herself into with these 2 guys. Wes is a sweetie, Rosemary is a strong minded and opinionated woman and Evan?...... Such a muppet sometimes!!

I loved this story very much. The background of their schooldays lifelong friendship and upbringing was a really good backdrop to their getting together..... Eventually.

Divine is growing into a wonderful place. Many different businesses, trades, people, situations and what not. But they are all flowing together so beautifully. Building on each others strengths and ironing out those weaknesses.

My bags are packed and ready to move..... lol

Thank you for another great story, Heather.

Rosemary is a bit of a brat in behaviour and manner, she really does not state her wants and needs clearly enough, giving out mixed signals.
Evan is a bully who really is quite selfish and acted mean when he was younger. Cannot blame him for that but he doesn’t seem to have grown up very much.
He screwed everything up by being impatient years previously, then has the nerve to act outraged when Rosemary and Wes moved on without him.
Poor long-suffering Wes is the only one I liked. There is so much carry on between Evan and Rose, that Wes was lost in the shadows of their heated encounters.
Read many years ago and I am trying to reread and review once again but these books are showing their era.
Just doesn’t work in this day and age as some actions border on Domestic Violence.

My least favorite of the Divine Creek series so far. I did not connect with Rosemary AT ALL. She was a whiny princess who pouted and threw hissy fits when she did not get her way. All the other heroines in the series so far have been such strong, fair, level-headed, and overall GOOD women. Rosemary paled in comparison. There were moments in this book where I seriously considered not finishing, and just moving on to the next book in the series. Evan and Wes deserved better than spoiled, selfish Rosemary!

I love everything by Heather. She is an amazing writer with likeable characters, good depth of story, strong heroines and heroic male leads neither of whom are perfect. The story is fun with bits that will make you gasp and but that will make you laugh out loud and a whole load of spice thrown in too *wink*. It's easy to identify with the Characters and get caught up with the plot. Once i started it I couldn't put it down. You will love Rosemary, Evan and Wes' Story.

Rosemary has been in love with Evan and Wes since kindergarten and she's known since then that she wanted them both, but after a huge mistake that kept them apart for years can they really make a go of it or will her and Evan's temper keep them all miserable.... I truly enjoyed this story mostly because it wasn't a convincing her it would be worth trying she always knew her own heart it was just a matter of listening to it....onto the next

Have loved the previous books in this Divine Creek Ranch series but this one was different. I didn't like the going back and forth from present time to when they were kids. With all the fighting and calling each other names, I almost gave up on the book several times. I look forward to the next books to see what Ms. Rainier has in store for the people of Divine.

Fairly standard as far as this series goes now, at least the characters in this story were less than perfect and actually managed to lose their temper some of the time, getting into arguments amongst their threesome. Same old kinks popping up but a nice read for when you're in the mood for predictable.

Dang! These guys are hot! And they totally love Rosemary, but Evan is bull headed, and it takes him a while to figure out what he wants. Whereas Wes has known all along that he wants Rosemary. But when they fall they fall hard! These men are in for it with a stubborn independent! She's just as hard headed as Evan! But love is love, and they all fall! I LOVE this book!

Rosemary is a bit slow with the acceptance, after the big hurt of Evan's leaving, but the guys sure do love her. They are as much firecrackers as she is. Wes and Evan must reestablish trust and show their love, to open the doors of loving Rosemary again. Sexy romance, interesting characters, and fun story. I love seeing the other people from previous books. Grace is the best !

Rosemary Piper has known Wes and Evan Garner since they were in kindergarten. They were planning on getting married after they graduated from college, but Evan couldn't keep it zipped. After a painful divorce, can Evan rebuild his relationship with Rosemary to give the three of them their HEA?

I loved Rosemary's devotion to Wes and Evan. This was another wonderful book in this series.

Another hit for Heather Rainier!! Rosemary, Evan and Wes have wanted each other since they were just young. They have to get past all the mistakes they have made and the stubborness of two of them in order to have the relationship they have always wanted. A great read!!

Of all the Divine Creek Ranch books I've read this is the one I like least. I wanted Rosemary to tell Evan to take a hike & that she wouldn't put up with his controlling ways. But she doesn't. So disappointing from what should have been a strong independent character.
