High school students heroic act turns into epic human vs. monster sword fight!
Buso Renkin is the story of teenager Kazuki Muto, who dies trying to save a girl who was being attacked by an eerie monster. The next morning, however, Kazuki is left wondering whether it was all a dream. Lo and behold, the girl, the monster, and his death are all real! The girl, Tokiko Tsumura, was actually trying to slay the homunculus (a beast that can take the form of humans, and whose main source of food is people), but Kazuki got in her way. To revive Kazuki, Tokiko replaces his heart with a "kakugane," an alchemic device that allows him to summon a lance with which to fight the monsters. It turns out that Tokiko is a member of the Alchemist Warriors, an organization sworn to protect the world from the diabolical creatures. Soon, Kazuki joins Tokiko in her quest to terminate the sinister being that creates and controls the homunculus.
Kazuki's black kakugane, which powers his Buso Renkin weapon and keeps him alive, will soon advance to the point where it begins draining life from others around him. Teaming up with his partner Tokiko, Kazuki leaves on a mission to find out more about the black kakugane in hopes of keeping this from happening. Meanwhile they encounter an elite group of Alchemist Warriors that have been assigned to hunt them down and kill them!

This review is part of a personal challenge to: 1) read more French books; 2) improve my French; 3) read all the French manga novels from my mom's manga collection. Seeing as I read this book in French, the actual review will be in French (duh).
Who Really Is the Monster?"
Kazuki Mutou bukan siswa SMU biasa.
Weird powers that were more interesting...but really didn't make any sense
First off, the bubble guys power was ridiculous. He was a plot hole waiting to happen. He could literally shrink people by 6 inches with every attack. And he could just generate a near infinite amount of bubbles. Ridiculous.
Also, the theme of Buso Renkins were supposed to be weapons. But now we have dogs, a fire generator, a gas mask, fucking robot dogs? Like what the fuck Watsuki. Sure, some of it was real cool. I really enjoyed the fight between Gouta and Ninja sword guy who was the clear inspiration for edgeshot from My Hero.
Overall, nothing really against this volume besides the break neck speed. It's more just an issue with the wacky powers and how they contradict the theme of weapons. But otherwise, I like seeing more warriors and I like the story. It's not 5 star and It never will be. But...it's a-
The only two traditional "fight manga" I've read are both by Nobuhiro Watsuku, so I'm unsure if the tropes I note are from the author or just part of the genre. In volume 7 we are introduced to the second set of baddies in the form of the Re-Extermination Squad.
